He refuses to admit to himself that he has essentially built his entire life around his brutal rape, as every choice he makes is centred around sex addiction caused by the brutal rape.
In his refusal to see himself as a victim of that instance, it makes it so that he is forever unable to truly face it and move on from it.
His cope is unironically “yeah I was raped as a kid but it had no effect on me” when it very obviously controls every second of his life and motivations.

Since we're talking about this clip, I'll throw in that this event cemented for me how much of an insufferable prick Destiny truly is. I've dealt with drunks among my friends and family and seeing Destiny act the way he does sets off some bad memories for me.

I can't find the LSF post but at the same time this happened, a clip of Destiny's POV was posted showing him asking the parking attendant the cost of overnight parking then immediately lying about the cost to Andy and Hasan. It's why while I think Hasan's politics are far dumber, deep down I think Hasan has a slightly better character than Destiny does. It's what endeared Hasan to me over Destiny.
