I don't often think about this, but most people who get into "FOSS community" do so as a teenager, a minor. Contribution and participation by teenagers is encouraged. This has always been a thing. Older people often mentor younger people. It is a fertile area for grooming, especially when many of those minors are also autistic.

Things would stop functioning completely if people held companies liable for the actions of their employees in their personal life. teens and kids have more time to experiment, and more will to do so. Just look online at the "i made my own os", "i made my own xorg wm", half of them are young and enthusiastic teens. Obviously not all of the newcomers to linux/foss will be those, but considering windows/mac is the norm amongst people nowadays, adults are way less likely to experiment with linux as they have more important things to do, like their job, or supporting their family.
