Thanks for confirming my initial impressions just from peeping the steam page. Seemed like a fun game to waste some time with as a fan of rats and picross but the artstyle alone left me suspicious there was some evil under the hood. Pattern recognition never fails it seems.

The issue with female characters in gaming is when:
* They are ugly or overly masculine (without it being a joke).
* They talk on feminist/modern political issues with the intent by the writer of them being 100% in the right.
* Male characters are brought down to make them look good in the majority of their scenes.

Stuff like Amazon tribe in fiction is completely alright as long as it's clear their man hatred is complete bullshit.

The gender isn't in your face and you have to find it in their bio, but you could just ignore it and this tab isn't important for the game at all and it is just a tiny text.
There is also some obvious diversity danger hair tier characters, but you could just ignore them and pick someone else.

i think it's mild to high now because of the new android duplicant DLC which has a couple of them with rainbow color hairstyle.

I think I know. 'Woketards' are radical individualists who seek to have their lifestyles universally affirmed, and they resent the idea of judging others for different lifestyles (in theory). Many of them are also, frankly, ugly nerds who were bullied or ignored in school, often seeing themselves as smarter than others. So they end up identifying with creatures that normies traditionally shunned as "weird" or "misunderstood" because they want to relate to it. Possums, mice, rats, hyenas, sharks with trannies, axolotls, and others. They like the "misunderstood, ugly but still cute and pure bean" sort of aesthetic. I remember, back when I tried to play D&D in college there was someone who specifically loved possums because she identified with the idea of the possum being gross and ugly, digging around in trash but actually being cute, fierce, and the mom of the group in reality. I think you can also see this reflected in video games these days. Just look at things like their obsession with Undertale characters. And look at how all the primary cast is portrayed in games like Life is Strange. The moral elevation of of the inferior.
