While she's still guilt tripping and asking for stupid things (like snacks and easy to prepare meals... making mediocre pasta is quicker and cheaper than a lot of microwave meals), I still think it's notable how much less aggressive she is these days.
So while it's a few years late, she seems to get the post covid shift in crowd funding.

But I still can't stop myself from sperging about how she thinks taking care of people, who deserve better, is a scam, because you don't get payed enough. This is true IMO in a lot of first world countries and a huge problem, but isn't this something you should do anyway, for the community? There are loads of people, who do this anyway, because it's the right thing to do.

This is probably the only thing I can agree with Mem on - $10 an hour is way too low for a CNA/caregiver job. IMO that's also how you get people like Mem who are unqualified and lazy working those types of jobs (or people who steal and commit elder abuse).

But on the other hand, I don't see Mem or any of the mutual aid crowd volunteering for Meals on Wheels or at a soup kitchen or food bank. I hardly ever see them engaging with their local communities, because they're all shut-ins and/or don't want to interact with people who don't share their exact politics.

I've got an answer for you, Mem, and it's twofold. First, these friends that keep showing up aren't your friends. They're enablers. You don't get any real talk from them, no uplifting to get you to put forth the work to improve your life. Best way to put it is you're the 600 pounder wanting to lose weight and they're bringing you McDonald's and Dunkin to keep you happy.

Second, any real friend would let you hit that bottom after how long you've been subjecting them to your bullshit. You can only reach out a hand so many times before you have to say screw it and let the person actually experience how shitty it can actually be. They may come back around some day, but you have to do some self evaluation and put forth effort to improve.

Anyway, if she's so over asking for dollars and cents, maybe she can take her grift IRL and set up shop outside the Taco Bell. That way she'll be crying toilet adjacent.

Here's what I don't get. She has to have provable income. I don't care if she has section 8,she HAS to have trackable income. No landlord, regardless of how elderly, infirm, naive, slumlord etc is going to let a random couple (frankly, especially a random black couple) move into a house without proof of income.
