I think something like Sam would've happened at some point in these documentaries. I never liked the documentary saga because to me it read like Ian was poking fun at these people and manufacturing events to get good footage. It came off like he thought he was better than these people and was more showcasing their lives to laugh at rather than to humanize the people who are the subjects of the video.

In contrast to something like Tosh.0's web redemptions where you can tell Tosh went out of his way to make the guest feel comfortable and be able to laugh at themselves while Tosh also embarrassed himself or let himself be the butt of the jokes. Tosh did this in an effort to not pick on the guest and put himself on their level. Those web redemptions never felt mean-spirited like Ian's documentaries felt.

I know I mentioned this in an earlier comment ages ago but the videos he did with Max and Chad last year really highlighted how "out of it" he is now, he hardly said anything or added anything to the videos, but you could see him almost start to come out of his shell again. Not sure if it was already mentioned, but Michael and Kate revealed that Anisa and Ian just tell the tattoo artist to do whatever tattoo they want on them. They probably don't even know how it looks until it's on them. At least you see it when you open the gacha.

Since the pandemic there's been a medication shortage and it's no surprises a controlled substance like this one can cause people who actually need it to have a hell of a time getting their refill.
Now if Anisa knew the negative side effects of Ritilin, knew Ian doesn't have ADHD but shopped him around to put him on a mind numbing drug then this entire scenario goes into Horrorcow territory. As seen with the Schofield case putting people who don't need psychiatric drugs on heavy doses leads to long lasting health complications.

That's a good point. I wonder how much of a hand in the documentaries Anisa had. I understand the whole point is this Dad guy is primarily a victim in all this but his patheticness is reaching the point my pity is turning to irrational anger.

This interview really makes me think his wholesome humility thing is even more just a put on than I already thought, there’s so many signs there is a massive ego just barely under the surface he is desperate to hide because it would make his general failure look even worse. The last 30 mins of the interview feels like him desperately trying appear “real” and “humble” because he realised how much of his taint he showed. In that final half hour uninterrupted cope rant he even whines multiple times about being bullied in hs (imagine whining about hs at 44, if anything sounds like he didn’t get bullied enough) and how he is told he has to stand up for himself more, which is TOTALLY the only reason he spent half the convo taking credit for every event he has ever been in. It’s more likely the opposite and the Dad character is why we don’t see his ego even more.

Idk none of this excuses what CC did to him, but his fakeness on display kinda explains how he got in bed with these people to start.

I think Dad...aka Nathan Barnatt really is just that over sensitive. I've heard him speak and he does get really upset whenever someone says something negative about him, even in a joking way. He had a short beef with Ethan Klein a few years ago after creator clash 2, I know Ethan can be a real asshole to people but this honestly wasn't that serious, it was pretty much just trash talk regarding Dad's fight with AB and because AB works for Ethan, Ethan started saying shit about Dad, like he fights dirty etc.., I dont think he meant it, but Dad took it to heart and seemed rather hurt. I think he's just rather thin skinned, but I honestly dont think he has that huge of an ego though, and I do think he's over all a decent guy who doesn't like conflict. I also think he's just a bit on the spectrum-like who the hell isnt these days and he expresses himself in an odd way

I actually used to watch him years ago when his Dad character was taking off and he was pretty entertaining for a while. This was back when youtube had some bizarre fictional characters with creepy, sci-fi and horror storylines like Daisy Brown that were pretty popular for a while. The creator of Daisy Brown finished up her story though and moved on years ago though, while Dad's been doing the Dad character for over a decade now. I actually hadn't watched him or thought about him for the longest time until he showed up in this latest drama. Seeing him brought back memories of old school youtube when there used to be a lot more creativity and narrative driven stories. which i kind of miss.

I do think it was pretty dumb of him to build so much of his future financial plans around Creator Clash, especially when it failed so hard last time and he wasn't really promised anything solid this time. That's what I mean about him being child like.. He just had faith that the was going to get this big bonus payout. If he had any sense, and he really was doing this for the money, he should have asked what the payout structure would be, what guarantee the people running the even could give him and he should have had those commitments put in writing and signed. Having said all that, I really don't dislike the guy and of course Ian and Anisa suck and I hope they get sued have to pay Dad and all the other fighters their bonuses plus punitive damages and wind up living in a shed in Anisa's mom's backyard.
