Diseased Open Source Software Community - it's about ethics in Code of Conducts

I can't even, the edit: Imagine all the times we've heard about how political opinions create unsafe work environments, but not a chomo? Come on. Would you leave your kid, or really anyone with that guy? Of fucking course not. Chomos are constant re-offenders.
They're all pedophiles. They don't think it's a big deal just because he got caught. All of the big wigs are doing it. And they'll all keep working diligently to sabotage FOSS or they'll have their own crimes exposed too.

How long until he is gonna do his talking?
Schedule is here and there's an option to select your time zone at the top of the page:

He'll be in the Grand Amphitheatre and right now it is currently nearing the end of the Lomiri in Debian talk. So in a bit under an hour from now, I think.

They openly say that, if you pressure them long enough.
It always eventually reaches the:
But the elites are raping children as well! You aren't outraged about them, you only care about it, because it is a guy you don't like, who is doing it!
Those people have no concept of values or of morals. They only play pretend and use those as a coat when it is convenient to push a political agenda.
And they project this onto their opponents as well.

True. You can make any distribution work the way you like it.
Like the prominent "In distribution A nvidia drivers are easier to set up than in B" is such a nothingburger.
The nvidia drivers work the same everywhere. If you need one click to install them or ten commands, doesn't make any real difference, because you only have to do that once.

Distro-hopping is the dumbest thing..... and i have a hard time believing that it is even real.
Are there really people who install a different distribution and start from scratch every time a package doesn't work the way they like it?
In what world is this easier than just fixing the thing they dislike?
The problem is that usually the package manager is heavily tied to the distribution as the package repos are in that package manager's format and you can't use a different one. apt(-get) for example is very different to Portage, not only in its repo format but in what it can do. Compiling from source is technically possible with apt but hard. Changing compile-time options is hard too, editing the files in debian/ directories and committing them, compared to just changing USE flags or, if needed, editing the ebuild. It might be that Debian's documentation for developers is not as easy to understand as Gentoo's. Either way Portage is much easier to use for compiling from source than apt.
Everything else userland you can technically replace and configure the way you want.

all distros have the exact same userland software you goofballs
no, see: package manager, compile time options,...
For example in Gentoo you can customize compiler flags to optimize the code to your processor architecture, then rebuild world. It's hard to do that in other distros.
ATM debian 12 + sway as my DE
Thinking of switching over to arch + hyprland though, because the sway devs are pretty retarded and I keep running into problems with old ass packages on debian (I know, stability is what debian is for, and that's why I chose it as my first distro)
If you want Debian or Devuan with the latest packages, there's 'sid', it's like a rolling release. Still sometimes slower to get new versions than other rolling distros. There's also testing which is somewhere between stable and sid.

Imagine taking the magic school bus to camp with Jeremy Bicha.
He does have a disturbing resemblance to Carlos...

The pfp and banner of the Xitter GNOME account feature a flag with color patterns similar to those of the MAP flag, I bet this is not a coincidence!
Oh jesus christ, footfags. That's not what podophile means!

edit: Just checked, it's the "disability pride" flag, which is ironic in its own way given how shitty gnome accessibility is with the move to wayland. It is, apparently, disability pride month this month.

The MAP flag is older than the disability pride flag though, so... it could still be a very well hidden subliminal message of them.

Yes, but it will leave behind a message saying it was deleted.
Yes, and even thought that any client could just ignore the deletion event and keep it displayed anyway, no client does that.

Especially because all the FOSS related matrix rooms got spammed HARD with CSAM. All the gnome related matrix channels the hardest. They had waves of footage of little children getting raped multiple times per day.

They claimed that it is some Lunduke fan doing it, because they were using Lundukes name for the spam accounts, and Lunduke said that GNOME does it themselves as a false flag.
I didn't believe Lunduke here. I thought it is far more likely that some random degenerate epic internet troll doing it.
But now... i think Lunduke was right... it is definitely much much more likely that one of the GNOME pedophiles did it to share his sick shit.

If someone has the balls and doesn't mind being kicked out it would be nice if he was confronted.

The old disabled pride flag had a lightning bolt on it. Tumblr redesigned it and made it look like a gay flag with the lines representing different disabilities. They took a cool flag and made it ugly to be part of the faggotry sphere. Media picked up the fag disabled flag and started using it to make it 'official'.

@meniche Is that a feature or a bug with the FOSS community? Matrix full of CSAM would be a way for them to get access to the stuff and share it. If it's always being spammed in groups full of pedos it's hard to know if it's raids or not.

There is no point speculating about who is doing it because, like DDOS attacks, anybody can create thousands of Matrix accounts and spam CSAM. Unlike Discord, there are no provisions to prevent the automated creation of accounts, or any way to mitigate raids, or any way to automatically detect CSAM before it gets posted to chat.

Anybody seriously claiming they know who is doing it, without substantial evidence, is not to be taken seriously.

I don't know what the Farms etiquette is here. But the stream for where he will be talking is here:
https://debconf25.debconf.org/schedule/venue/2/ (that's the "Grand Amphitheatre").

And I believe the IRC chat link is right next to it. I don't know about the Matrix side - I think they're linked. But if a person does post (and wouldn't remotely need to be a Farmer) I presume that's where it will show up.

I don't think they can delete anything from IRC once it's sent out even if can be done on Matrix, right? I don't know. Haven't used IRC in decades.

Amusingly, the current speaker is talking about XMPP and decentralised chat! :)
