Diseased Open Source Software Community - it's about ethics in Code of Conducts

You book travel for international conferences months and months in advance. They likely paid his flights and probably the hotel long before this came out. It's only in the last week they're disclaiming him.
Canonical was a sponsor and you don't generally have an employee going without them going under your name if you're a sponsor.
Didn't realize they were a sponsor. I take everything I said back, Canonical is scum.

I'm not even all that surprised about this reaction of denying, denying, denying. It's reflected in all their work and nobody familiar with NuFOSS can say this is unusual behavior. The user knows nothing and is nothing and we decide the Objectively Correct Truth And Way Of Using A Computer Correctly, and nobody else. The hyperbole in that they defend a fellow kiddy diddler is a fun thought experiment and I'm sure for a few of them that's even true, but it's even a lot more stupid than that - output from outside is verboten. Its our way or the highway. Real cut off the nose to spite the face stuff. Everything except accepting somebody ideologically not aligned without party book might be onto something. It's sick and the sole reason everything's so fucked up. No matter where you stand, this is not acceptable. This shouldn't even be up for discussion. It's a real testatment to how irrational these organizations are acting. How can you trust these people to do the rational and right thing, even if it might make them look bad in the moment?

Absolute fucking bottom of the barrel scum. When a person does something remotely conservative, these redditors go up in arms to harass and destroy that person, including getting them fired. But a child rapist? No, here you have to follow the law and be content the chomo served his sentence already.

You do not hate predditors enough.

I wasn't sure if anyone made one of these yet

Jordan Petridis, the GNOME contributor who defaces open source projects and who calls Jews “babykillers” and “fascist maggots”, is not happy that Canonical (Ubuntu Linux) has fired Jeremy Bicha (the registered sex offender and serial child rapist who also defaces open source projects).

Worth noting: Both Petridis (the Jew hater) and Bicha (the sex offender) are active GNOME contributors. GNOME has not made any comment regarding either person.

I don't see it, maybe you can find it: https://mastodon.social/@alatiera

Canonical will probably never actually apologize, but at least we'll see less of Bicha being a bitch.
t. dinosaur that still uses X11 and Awesome
Gnome will just become more and more irrelevant over time. Distro watch has several better distros being more popular then it

He probably deleted it, and reoffended (that's the correct term for a mastodon retweet right?) this instead. https://mastodon.social/@diegoe/114835476298313852

Does he think it was just because of the wiki vandalism? Surely he must understand most workplaces really don’t want sex offenders at all much less the worst kind who are easily Googleable. Never mind the woke rules this faggot supports this has been the rule forever and all time in the history of the corporate world.

If Canonical failed to fire Bicha based on his sex predator conviction, we should have told the internet he made a tasteless joke involving the word “dongle” as a pun. That’s the worst offense imaginable in the tech sphere.

Edit: Explaining a joke always makes it funnier, right? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donglegate
