The reason why Nick and Charles stay with Sam is because they have to. They are irrelevant otherwise. Nick quit comedy after WP. He didn't appear on camera again until the idubbz documentary because Sam gave him the opportunity. Charles tried to stay relevant with Let's Plays and streaming and sketches that went nowhere. He was extremely unsuccessful and went back to doing construction work living with his brown wife and brown children.

Didn't realize that was what some of those edits were, but I definitely noticed it wasn't simply Sam's plugs that got edited. I bet Harland's editor cut the plugs only because they wanted to cut some of his cracking and didn't want it to look suspicious.
Nick had dozens of appearances on Hydewars. Like he was a very regular guest on all of Sam's stuff from 2016-2021.

Sometimes I can't decipher the layers of Charls, but Harland's "shut the fuck up" is a regular part of his crowd work. He gets abruptly assertive with a specific audience member over something innocuous to make everyone else laugh.
Happens at 39:50. Harland is saying "you so clazy" in Sam's face, Charles interrupts the bit, Harland says "shut the fuck up" and then says "why you so clazy" at Sam again.
Yeah Charles is so fucking annoying and unfunny. I worry about people that admire him.
Charles projects an aesthetic of knowingness and charismatic wisdom that crumbles the nano second you actually listen to him talk for more than 3 minutes, but some people are too low iq to notice that I guess

When I watched videos about David Lucas being a fat nigger I noticed a lot of psychoanalysis about who was winning each microagression in the comments. I think it's a newish vein of podcast viewers that have been so attuned to meaningless conversation that they try to analyze the power dynamics of every sentence instead of just laughing at or with someone.
