She's obviously meant to be some dream girl. For all his and his brood's talk of "it's just pixels" it makes absolutely no sense to me that they thirst for and want to fuck a drawing. The point is to root for the male protagonist, who from what I gathered isn't the standard blank slate. He's got his own personality, wants, and drives. It's supposed to be about watching a romcom and rooting for them to get together in the boiler plate standard of "will they-won't they" in these shows.

Nah, he's a pretty standard blank slate. He's an emotionally retarded bozo with one obsessive interest and no friends. Then he meets the dream girl, and through her receives the mysterious, heretofore unreachable ability to self-actualize.

The interesting thing about a lot of these horny romcom manga/anime is that the fantasy is of course to a great extent about "what if the hot chick liked me and I could fuck her," but it is also to a great or even greater extent about "what if the hot chick liked me and showed me how to be normal."

Maybe I'm just boring and see the dude as somewhat interesting. Artists have always interested me in that manner, but whatever his name is seemed at the time to have something of a personality. Kinda locked behind the art and the frankly stupid "trauma" he has.
Might just be a thing with the author though. Surprisingly it was a woman author who wrote it btw
