they probably had a small green screen that they held up behind him (they sell those for small projects and such, they're these circular/oval shaped ones that can fold up for storage), but it wasn't quite big enough to cover the entire background behind him (probably cut off around his fists). So instead of moving him closer to the screen or making him do a different pose/cropping it, they decided to color in the rest of the room on photoshop. Around his head/shoulders, there doesn't seem to be any weirdness with the lines like there are by his arms so that's why I think there was originally an actual green screen that wasn't big enough.

of course they didn't do a very good job, but we already know those two aren't the best at photoshop.
they probably originally made it for a thumbnail or something and decided to post it on Twitter because... well, because they're stupid.

So I finally took a look at Nick's site. This nobody twitter "journalist" writes a rambling ""article"" in the hopes of getting e-fame. Everything about this, from his smug assurance of his own moral superiority to intentionally misleading readers with his "evidence" shows a guy waltzing in with an agenda to push in the hopes of making a career out of it. We've had OPs in Chris Discussion better written and researched than this so let me break down a bunch of things I found wrong with it.

First off, the kids aren't eating shit "literally". In fact, all this guys links are incredibly misleading, especially because as I pointed out earlier in the thread it is plastic shit and Cody thought it was funny. But hey, if Daddy of Five gets outrage for his video titles, I'm sure a ""journalist"" should be held to higher standards about not misleading readers for the sake of his offended morals.

Credit where it's due, Nick's write-ups of the videos and their problems are ok. Not great, because he adds things like "A smirking mike and jeering heather" which does nothing to explain the video content, but at least he couldn't twist things around and had to write the actions as they really happened. I'm surprised he didn't slip in a "Breathlessly Cody waited to die while his terribly no-good evil parents pranked him for hours on end, knowing that only his death or being sent to foster care would bring him the peace he has never once known" but hey, I'm sure Nick will put up another article soon so he can keep milking the e-fame!

But then he fucks it up with his video choices. Seriously, shit like this is his big evidence of systemic abuse? That an older brother went and sat silently in his younger brothers room, doing nothing and saying nothing, until the little tard has a freak out? That's not abuse that's having a sibling. This video where a father tells his son to man up and ignore an older brother is put on the same level as the video where they pretend Cody was abandoned at the mall. This is incredibly disingenuous. Lambaste people for the things they've done, not the things you imagine they'll do.

It's very reassuring though that everyone from Amy to Mike to Real Journalist Nick all agree that Cody will turn out exactly like Mike if he enters foster care or a group home.

Finally getting to Rose's side of the story, and the """journalist""" happily overlooks everything about her story that should be a red flag. Two uneducated rednecks, one of which couldn't even graduate high school, are accused of hatching a child theft plot. This follows from a couple paragraphs earlier where Real Journalist Nick gleefully mocks Mike because he can't even photoshop a logo correctly since he's so stupid. We're to believe that Mike and Heather are crafty enough that they tricked a judge, the courts, CPS, and a notary into stealing children from someone?

That's some real good writtin you done there hoss real newsy like. That'll bring in the jobs! If she didn't understand the documents she signed, or the deals to which she agreed, that's unfortunate but it's her problem. But flat out lying with no evidence to back it up up other than "lie" written over top a consent order does nothing. It just proves she didn't listen.

Hahaha, and more bullshit passed as fact. Yes I'm sure Mike paid a bunch of people to stalk you and try to run you off the road. The only included evidence, by the way, is two police reports saying, "We went there and she told us a car she thought was Mike's kept driving by the house, and we told her that's not illegal but we'll tell him to knock it off in case it's really him". Goodness never in the history of the world have custody battles involved blowing shit out of proportion. Lock 'em up boys Daddy of Five stole them kids!

So fun fact here Real Journalist Nick keeps overlooking. You can have all this information on secret medical conditions and medical paperwork and shit, but when you get a document notorized you have to provide proof of identification. If what they're saying is true Mike and Heather not only forged her signature but also forged an ID and presented it to a notary at the time they signed the document.

This is very scummy, but so what? I don't know what the point is other than to say Mike and Heather are jackasses. Go one county over and hire a lawyer there stupid, they can't have called every single lawyer in the entire area and paid them to listen to their sob story.

This is incredibly interesting because it leaves out all the previous information we'd need. The evidence shows Rose refusing to meet for their child swap at the time they had picked at the place they have picked, and Heather threatening to go after her for contempt. The reason this is interesting, is if Rose has a history of not being on time or changing venues or anything, than by all means she SHOULD be held in contempt. Just because you're fighting an asshole doesn't mean you can ignore the rules. We've seen nothing that shows Rose is anything if not an unfit mother who lies to try and cover up her own stupidity in signing off on her kids.

In Conclusion: I think we should add Nick as a subject of this thread because as a reporter and a man he's a failure. Nothing has been proven here other than Mike and Heather are assholes, and Rose is either lying or unstable or both if she seriously thinks a guy without a GED could photoshop a fake ID and lie to a notary while faking her signature to steal two kids she's admitted she couldn't manage.

Gonna toss my own two cents in - it's really not that rare for judges to be biased against individuals with mental illnesses, especially bipolar disorder. If it's true that Mike has untreated bipolar, then it's possible that he a) didn't inform the judge of his condition or b) hasn't been properly diagnosed by a mental health professional (which would explain why he isn't medicated, can't get medication if you don't have a proper diagnosis, even if you are clearly suffering from the illness).
While it's true that everything Rose has said is unverified right now, the part about getting discriminated against by a judge isn't too far-fetched when you consider the situation. She's mentally ill, she was single, she didn't have a lot of money (although she was getting help from her sister), while Mike was married to Heather, who had a steady job in a high-paying field. To the judge, he saw a mentally ill woman in a poor financial situation without a spouse vs a man, to his knowledge wasn't mentally ill, with a spouse who had money.

Again, this is all of course hearsay unless solid proof is provided of the claims, but it's not too outlandish. All we know for sure is that she is bipolar (though medicated) and not as well off as Heather and Mike (though Mike's income will be drying up now that he isn't getting those sweet, sweet Youtube bux) and just because she's mentally ill and doesn't make as much Heather doesn't necessarily mean that she would be an unfit mother. Being in a low-income household where you aren't getting abused isn't worse than being in a high-income household where you get abused, but hey, you get toys!

Edit, just read @Smutley's post. The claim that the documents were forged does seem fishy (honestly, I wouldn't put it past Mike or Heather to do that, and while I'm sure Heather has at least a bachelor's if she works in accounting, I don't think either of them are smart enough to get away with that, like you said). I also really can't see Heather faking Rose's identity since they look completely different.

I don't know much about custody battles, but could it be that Rose was fighting Mike for custody and lost, and that's when the documents came into play? So perhaps they weren't forged, but there was indeed a court battle (with a potentially biased judge, I'm still not ruling that out as a possibility) and Rose lost, and later made up the forgery story to try to get more people on her side?

Because in most cases, the mother does get custody of the kids, because moms are perceived as more nurturing or some bullshit like that. I mean, I can understand why a judge wouldn't want to give her custody, given her multiple mental illnesses and not making as much money as Heather. I don't agree with it, but I can understand why a judge might look over the case and side against her. It all boils down to a lot of "he said, she said."

Also if I was siblings with Jake and he just sat in my room and stared at me I'd be creeped the fuck out, considering how much Jake loves tormenting Cody. It's gotten to the point where he doesn't even have to do anything to fuck with him. He can just sit and let Cody imagine what fresh hell is about to be unleashed upon him, especially when there's a camera in the room and it mostly comes out for "pranks."
