Only way this makes any sense is if DSP finally realised a flaw in his Patreon 'logistics'. DSP regularly describes how he deals with new pledges: he PMs them on Patreon first Sunday of the month after pledges clear, then he goes through all the messages the next Sunday & sends off an email? to Onyx, his anonymous webmaster, to give all the $5+ patrons their "premium" forum upgrades.
Note there's no mention of downgrading people who didn't pledge $5+ last month. This might be what DSP is talking about, people who pledged $5 at one point, still have their Patreon 'premium forum access' as he can't be bothered pruning out old patrons and are 'abusing' their access voting in this poll they shouldn't have access to.

I wonder if DSP ever figured out when 2016's 'Hardcore Gaming Season' even began. He first claimed it was No Man's Sky in August, that failed, maybe DXMD in September, no, CoD & Battlefield 1, no... thanks to the YouTube views algorithm changes in the summer, all views dropped & thus DSP never felt he got to the HGS. This is part of why he ranted so much about stream attendance before he finally got convinced to go back to Twitch.

DSP has mentioned barely playing Guilty Gear in the past, but never played any of the games or the BlazBlue series on YouTube. Closest he came was Persona 4 Arena, and he barely played that, never even went online.

For anyone who missed this post on the old forums, this was before my time & the only copy I could ever find was this photo of a screen. DSP just loves coming up with crazy comparisons.
Lol, this is one of the dumbest things Phil has ever said.

His fucking excuse for not playing Sunshine is amazing, he said "YOU CANNOT FORCE ME TO PLAY IT" actually Phil they can, because they are paying for it, he is not going to hit the Patreon goal again this month because of it, and his fucking logic "If i play it i got fucked financially shitting on the people that paid for the play through, but if dont play the detractors are going to slaughter me and people will not donate anymore to my patreon"

The only option he has now to stop his patreon for bleeding more is to play the goddamn thing, and i found weird that he "lets just say i declare sunshine the winner but im going to play it in January of next year" just after "IF YOU DONT DONATE I WILL BE GONE IN JANUARY"

1 month of not hitting the goal was bad, two is going to be good and three well...

Patreon lowered today.

Maybe we should start taking bets on what his goal will be next month. The safe bet would be Thanksgiving marathon in November and Christmas marathon in December. The ironic pick would be another Patrons choice marathon which is a realistic choice because he pulled this same shit with Danganronpa 2 while begging for donations for the goal that has led us to the Mario Sunshine situation. He has not done Twitch and Chill in a while, but if he will not play any games like Jackbox it is just a regular stream.

So we know it will just be another marathon, but what lame category will he rehash for the marathon.

He already confirmed there would be a Xmas marathon in December.

I was curious about Phil's hours and how they relate to the amount of viewers on Twitch at a given time.
https://sullygnome.com/viewers

This is what the ebb/flow of viewers on Twitch is like. This graph is using Pacific Daylight Time btw (UTC -7), which is what Phil provides his streaming schedule in
View attachment 281497

Saturday seems to be the most popular.

View attachment 281501

Phil usually schedules his first stream at 12:30 PDT, but this just means he pushes the 'stream' button and doesn't actually speak or do anything. Usually this takes us to about 12:45 PDT.

Next we have the prestream which takes anywhere from 45-60 minutes. This varies depending upon how long of a piss break he needs to take etc. So we'll call it 13:30 PDT by the time Phil is playing an actual video game.

This gives Phil something like 30 minutes at the peak number of viewers (13:30 - 14:00 PDT)
View attachment 281505

Phil generally plays for 3-4 hours taking us to approx 16:00 PDT
View attachment 281506

He then starts his second stream at about 7:30pm PDT. I'm not sure if he does a prestream etc because I've never been bothered to watch one.
View attachment 281507

At this point Phil's second stream seems to occur when Twitch has the least number of viewers possible.
He doesn't seem to take advantage of the huge increase in viewers that Saturday/Sunday bring (anywhere from 10-20%) by rescheduling his day or doing a longer stream scheduled around peak hours. Of course not.

Just a slight update on this, is that Sunday is the general "peak day" for Twitch.

Today is Sunday.
Phil has just started his stream and won't actually start playing till 13:00 PDT
upload_2017-9-17_23-43-9.png

So Phil is basically starting to play just as the peak viewership finishes.

The thing is, my assumption in all this is that people start firing up Twitch 2-3 hours before hand and find a stream they might want to watch, when it reaches peak time, people have already chosen what they're going to watch and have been watching 1-2 hours.

Now I'm no business or finance major, but I would think starting the stream 2-3 hours earlier (gout permitting) would actually help to increase exposure of the stream to as many people as possible.

I'm sure if this was pointed out to Phil he would come up with some elaborate excuse about why he can't change it. The thing is he's bitching about money every day, so obviously whatever he is doing isn't working.

Another thing of note is that Phil doesn't play any of the top 10 games. Phil doesn't play any of the top 20 games. Phil doesn't play any of the top 30 games.

By the time you get down to games that Phil plays, you're looking at an extremely small viewership:

DSP has been baited into answering to a question about anime fighters. He mentioned Blazblue and says its all about whoever gets the chance to pull out the juggle combo and that's the whole game (where especially Blazblue series is a very complex fighting game). He came across as the SF fanboy that he is and misses the possibilities Blazblue has to offer: a large roster of characters, a game catering to his weeb audience, an actual story mode (including Abyss mode for more single-player goodness), and you can create lobbies which look like 16-bit arcade halls and you can see who you are playing against before you agree to a match. Game has a large tutorial that is way more techninal and in-depth than SF ever was.
But as we know Phil has not the skills he claims to have, whatever skill he had was in the last decade, and that during a peak time. Now all he does is clinging to nostalgia in fighting games (that is, as long as the FGC is not mentioned). With Blazblue, he doesn't know the lore, he cannot tell the same old jokes ("the giefster", "Ken Masters the Masterpiece"), and he cannot do the same old lame kahmbos he does with certain characters (King and Paul from Tekken series for example, or Dee Jay in USF2). He doesn't play games outside of his comfort zone, and even when he could have it as a Patreon goal he would look for a way to prevent this (i.e. rigging the poll, view-quitting etc.).

As with the Hardcore Gaming Season it turned out to be a running gag in the Freedom Chat last year since every major game release seemed to have Phil failed to give him those delicious day 1 views, one by one. No matter the big title, the AAA budget or whatever, games failed him to generate views and everything became niché.

That Mario Sunshine conspiracy is quite amusing, it seems like the detractors have more power over Phil than he thought. After all, they made him put the game on the list. We also have mentioned a few pages ago that giving money to Phil to troll him is one the dumbest things to do. Phil just fucked himself over with the poll (once again) and so he has to rig the poll (once again) to get a result that isn't a complete disaster to his "business model".

he PMs them on Patreon first Sunday of the month after pledges clear, then he goes through all the messages the next Sunday & sends off an email?
So take September as an example: Patreon stops trying to charge people on the 6th and tells him what's done. He then sits on his hands until the 10th when he PMs people asking for their forum usernames. He then sits on his hands until the 17th when he asks his webmaster to upgrade those accounts?

That's insane. There's literally an API he could use to do this stuff automatically the moment a user is successfully charged. It would be faster to order and ship a counterfeit iPhone 9001 from Hong Kong.

what's funny is that he isn't rigging in the poll in the usual way as in "game #2 suspiciously got more votes than the rest" but him simply not wanting to play it.
I've stated this before with DR2, but it's like Phil doesn't even bother to rig polls how he used to, so he just makes up excuses (Sunshine) or just outright bans certain types of games (DR2, Persona 3) At this rate, he might as well put the games he wants to play in the poll as opposed to even allowing his patrons to pick. And let's be real, he might actually not only do this in the future, he'll probably spin it as a brand new development for his patrons (something similar happened with BK/Crash 3/Jak 3 poll after the Persona 3 fiasco)

but it's like Phil doesn't even bother to rig polls how he used to

I'm guessing that the rigs he used to pull are "bugged", so he's now using an easier system to suit his streamlined model. 'And by "easier" I mean ban anything that's outside his kahmbotastic comfort zone. Or lie about being unable to play a certain game THAT HE OWNS(in disc form or legal download) to poorly cover-up his inability to play them on even the easiest setting.

Chaotic_Defiler is wrong here, Panda was only interested in Phil's wealth, not his (invisible)passion for her.

I highly recommend watching DSPs first stream of DBZ, he spent the entire time yelling "What? What's happening?!?" like a 70 year old man with dementia that escaped the nursing home

He has this reaction to AYYYLLOOOTTT of other things as well

>owning a home

>keeping a fiancee

>building a fan base

>breathing

The man's a mess

He's turning comments off DSPgaming because it's the last avenue where people can openly express their disdain for him.

Currently you can only reach him:
Twitch Chat
Instagram
Twitter
Email
Forum

All of those avenues provide him with blawk buttons and the ability to delete. He either ignores emails or never responds to them so it's pointless.
