We obviously won't remove the thread but if he honestly learned from his mistakes and stops doing stupid shit I don't see why we couldn't lock it.

Just want to add a little addendum, just in case anyone is taking me for an easy mark.

Thomas has not yet committed any actual crimes or done anything anyone should be concerned about in a legal sense, at worst he's said some stupid shit and done some stupid things all because he took comments about some art he drew that even he'll admit looked bad in hindsight badly and did everything you shouldn't do when getting heckled on the internet.

That's all on him, he can't unring the bell, but it's not fatal to him yet, merely an embarrassing episode of his life he can leave behind him if he so chooses. He's already admitted his faults and that he did stupid shit, and he's gotten his regrets about his stupidity out of his system, now he just needs to get the hell over this for good and move along with his life, accept people are willing to at least give him a chance to prove he won't make a further ass of himself, and not worry about it anymore.

But I want to put something else on public record: I decided to intervene and convince him to not walk off the cliff of public idiocy to his doom because I had a tender moment and decided to do more than most people would, but if he fucks up again despite all my attempts to warn him not to get into the same situation, then he's on his own and he'll get no pity from me.

I just hope he doesn't make me look like the fool for trusting in his ability to learn from his mistakes.

Actually, been keeping tabs on him, and his story has been quite the reverse. He's been so scared of this shit starting up again apparently his weens have been getting desperate, trying everything to get him to react, and on my advice he's been doing his best to ignore them, and based on my investigations of his account, he's not lied to me.

If anything, he's confessed to me the sockpuppet crap he pulled was so stupid in retrospect he's ashamed he ever considered it a sane idea.

Unless you guys can provide open-shut proof I've been bullshitted, and so far this is not conclusively evidence, just correlation (which does not equal causation) with prior incidents, then quit trying to perform necromancy on something that is otherwise dead.

And I'm fucking disgusted there are some assholes here who are craven enough you are getting off on the idea of me turning on someone I'm still convinced has mended his ways based on evidence this flimsy.

Two things. Neg rate me to oblivion, this is not proof you could use to win in a court with and we both know it. Any halfway competent asshole with a sound program can fake this shit, and since the socks are not able to prove it's him except based of patterns used in the past, not recently (and that is circumstantial), your only remaining proof is this sound recording, which can be falsified.

So unless you can present evidence you could nail Nixon with, I stand by my belief this is bullshit.

or...

-The words of a demonstrated compulsive liar, with a history of lying about this exact behaviour, and baseless conjecture that the audio was doctored by a high-tech, dedicated ween.

This isn't a tough call for me.
