Don't forget all of these tech startups got their funding from the govt/silicon valley.
"Bu-But these are private companies!! It's their right to censor people at will!"

Don't use Twitter, don't use Facebook, that doesn't even seem difficult to me... I mean, I don't.What alternatives do we have outside of here?
Another example of coordinated deplatforming by the major social media networks.
@Null you need to start a video streaming service and defend the internet
People have no idea how important and hard to replace YouTube is. It's not as easy as just setting up a website on your own VPS like the KF is to other webforums. Not using Youtube is a bit harder
The issue is if you aren't allowed to talk on these platforms who is going to see your message? These are the modern day places of discussion. I can post on here and 4chan all day and run into people who feel similar on a lot of ideas but It's going to get boring quick. It doesn't personally affect me but I could imagine If I was a creative type or someone who wanted to get my opinion out there and no one was responding because I'm shadowbanned for saying saying I don't like illegal immigration I would just stop trying.I mean... Or you could keep helping people who fucking hate you make money, even as they continue to censor people that you enjoy listening to.
I'd go so far as to openly suspect any mass reporting was irrelevant, and this was a back-end coordinated takedown like the Alex Jones affair.
I.. Agree? (Sorry man I am literally about to pass out. This whole thing seems like the beginning (well, next part) of a whole lot of scary shit from some really terrible people.)People have no idea how important and hard to replace YouTube is. Cloudflare has a streaming API that bills at $1 per 1000 minutes viewed. The Bryan Dunn stream Jim did had 13,000 viewers and lasted 2 hours. That is 120 minutes multiplied by 13,000 viewers, divided by 1000 for a dollar amount. That's $1,560. For one stream.
1080p videos stream at about 4Mbps. 4Mbps * 13000 = 50Gbps. Bandwidth costs about $0.75 per Mbps, so a 50Gbps bandwidth line is 52,000 * $0.75 or about $39,000 a month. That doesn't even touch on technical limitations. Servers usually have 1Gbps ports, my servers either have 2, 3, or 4 1Gbps ports. In order to accommodate a 50Gbps line I'd need 50 fucking NICs and a router with the same number of ports. Most routers only have 12, 24, or 48. You're talking tens of thousands of dollars in hardware alone.
Not streaming video is much simpler. If he just did podcasts I could make it happen for cheap.
But really, this social quarantine tactic is effective. I have no idea what sort of infrastructure Gab's stream service has, but considering the Torba cunt is a millionaire and controlled opposition, I'm sure they could manage. Especially considering once Jim's off YT and on Gab his audience is going to be 1/100th the size, which is the point of the quarantine.
Whether this was done by Kraut, Matt, or Jabba the Source Hacker, one thing is perfectly clear. Whoever did this did so because they cannot handle being mocked.God damn, my noggin is joggin really hard right now.
HMMM...

The Internet is fucked. If I felt like it I could tell you exactly how the Internet as a whole is about to be cleaved into pieces by various government interests. You have 10 years of truly free speech online left, tops.I.. Agree? (Sorry man I am literally about to pass out. That's kind of what I've been trying (and apparently failing -_-) to express tonight...The Internet is fucked. Say nigger every single day and be glad you can, because one day you won't be able to.
Out of pocket by the owners. How is mixtape.moe paying for their bandwidth? They're very generous there. Granted it's not livestreaming.
Well, Jim has just been on Killstream and he said that he doesn't really care about his social media being taken down and tbh, he really doesn't strike me as a person to break down in tears over being knocked out of YT.
It would be a shame if he were to be forced away. He can persist if he's willing to fall back to running his own site, or passing around his videos via third-party hosts (or torrents). I really do expect Patreon to kick him off their service. I imagine the amount of people willing to send cryptocurrency is far lower than people who'd sign up to Patreon.Well, Jim has just been on Killstream and he said that he doesn't really care about his social media being taken down and tbh, he really doesn't strike me as a person to break down in tears over being knocked out of YT.
