When I see people ironically claim they're "on the right side of history", I wonder what they will be like when they get old. Especially if CG wins and anti-CG is remembered as a "the bad guys".

Will they claim to have been on CGs side all along, pretend it never happened, or will they be at the retirement home throwing porridge at the nurses while screaming "FUCK DRUMPF! EVS IS A NAZI!"?

WHEN CG wins, and there really is no lose state for them. Remember that. It means that Anti-CG will not be vilified or remembered as The Bad Guys. They will simply be un-employed. As what little remains of the industry will have collapsed. Somebody will fill the consumer niche for visual story telling. But Diamond will have collapsed, the retail LCS's will be dead, and the big publishers little more than IP holding farms for their corporate overlords. At the end of this Disney and Ike Perlmutter will come to realize that there is more profit and fewer problems to be had from simply re publishing MArvel's vast back catalog for a new generation, in some accesible digest form, then there is in paying these incompetent trouble magnets to create new but vastly inferior stuff.

Remember much like Gamergate, there is no possible lose state for the Comicsgaters. They have no risk. Their livlihoods for the most part do not revolve around the industry. They are the funding source, not the recipients. To win all they have to do is walk away. Stop giving money to people that clearly hate them. And by all observation, they are much better at that then the Gamers ever were. (EA still gets paid for some insane reason.)

EA has been absolutely detested for over 30 years. Like them or not, though, they move product that people actually want, often by acquiring other studios and then often wrecking them, but still generally turning a profit.

Nobody wants woke bullshit. Not even the people who support it most vocally support it economically by actually buying it.

As I understand it, that Jon guy didn't even advocate for turning the USA into a white ethnostate. He merely explained the rational of those who do (like Vox). But even if he did (although to a lesser extent) it shows the Comicsgate crowd behaving like the people pushing them out of the mainstream comic industry. It does feel a lot similar to the SJW in the comics industry willfully misrepresenting peoples political opinions and pointing to that strawman as justification for how they treat the outcast.

Besides, isn't the stated goal of Comicsgate to keep politics out of comics? What does it matter what political opinions someone holds, as long as he lets it turn his comics into preachy political crap? (like most of Marvel and whatever it is Vox Day puts out). It's starting to look to me a fair few of the comicsgaters have no principal problem with political purity tests deciding who can work in the industry or not. They just want the gamut of acceptable views to be widened just enough to include them personally, but not any wider.

That is the point. Vox Day was soundly denounced for being an obviously hyper-political opportunist with delusions of grandeur who is attempting to co-opt the movement for himself. They're "acting like SJWs" precisely to keep such people out.

It's starting to look to me a fair few of the comicsgaters have no principal problem with political purity tests deciding who can work in the industry or not. They just want the gamut of acceptable views to be widened just enough to include them personally, but not any wider.

That is dead wrong. They just want comics to be fun, memorable stories.
