Edit: Does anyone consider themselves a CG supporter?
Ehhhh... yes and no. I do think anti-CG do make some decent points, but at the same time, I feel like they're stupid for not acknowledging any genre or series that isn't capeshit. Like I've said several times before, there's series out there like 'Love and Rockets' or any of Fantagraphics' library that they conveniently ignore for one reason or another; or graphic novels like 'Persepolis' or 'Fun Home'. Plus, a lot of this grief could have been avoided had they just ignored Zack and his ilk, but some people just love spooling for a fight. Like Mark Waid, whose temper may or may not have landed in him the hot water to end all hot water scenarios. It also doesn't help that some downright bad, if not illegal behavior from them goes unpunished and at times, rewarded. It's disgusting.
Likewise, I think pro-CG make decent points (i.e. shoehorning politics and forced tokenism where it doesn't feel appropriate, and forsaking a good story for socjus brownie points), but I don't think they realize that some of their tactics are not much different from those of anti-CG. Some of their numbers see, say, a black character in a Marvel or DC comic or a new female character in a licensed comic, and they automatically start sperging out. But to their credit: at least they're putting up instead of shutting up, and actually making the comics they want to see. But I don't think spergy lolcows like EVS (whose obsession with mutilating Rose Tico could land him in huge trouble if the wrong people rightfully misinterpret it as him wanting to kill Kelly Marie Tran, since it does come off that way sometimes) really help in the long run, but that's just my disdain of EVS speaking.
But both sides are so set in their beliefs, that trying to reason with either of them is hard. That in turn drives people like me to think they're just a bunch of idiots who should be locked in a cage and allowed to duke it out until the last man is standing.
