Megathread Insane Parents of "Transgender" Kids - Parents who push a transgender identity on their children

Jazz had to get a revision of some sort. I am interested to know what goes wrong/how much the show reveals.

If you take away someone's sex drive with chemical castration, why does it even matter if they have a neovagina? Neovaginas are just for sexual purposes.

Jazz's case especially pisses me off. Like all these children he had no chance to explore himself as a person. Maybe he would've been cis, maybe he would've been trans.

It seems like he would have been a somewhat straight effette soyboy that enjoys drag or some light crossdressing.

Don't a lot of these kids who feel dysphoric and never transition just end up coming out as gay/lesbian at an older age?

Yes.

The majority of kids being diagnosed as transgender would not 'persist' in being transgender if they didn't have insane parents and money-hungry pharmaceutical companies pressuring them into 'early intervention' puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones. When you're diagnosing every four year old boy that puts on heels for a lark and every girl that doesn't want the burden of bra shopping and insisting both are trans you're obviously going to cast a very wide net.

The trouble, of course, is that your personal identity is something you develop over the course of years and so it isn't uncommon for kids to experiment with mommy's make-up or daddy's football. Or to feel like their changing bodies are weird and alien, with new gross armpit smells and stuff. Absent crazy transtrenders and given the support they need to ground themselves, 97% of kids with these issues get sorted after puberty - less than 3% actually persist to identify as trans. Tellingly, a sizable number of these kids with those issues grow up to be homosexual, at about 40-60%.

So in short say you have 100 kids that present with 'gender confusion' or 'gender fluidity'. Give them all supportive families and environments that assure them they can grow up to be good and functional adults and let them proceed through puberty. When you come back around at 19-20 years of age, you'll find; 50 of them will probably be gay or lesbian, 47 of them will be hetero-normative (maybe a little tomboyish or 'sensitive'), and 3 of them will go on to become transexual identifying adults.

The preview for the next episode has the doctor pretty much say that he had a prolapse of sort after the sutures popped (:_(

The sutures popped and "split open" according to the doctor in the preview. Heard that wrong the first time. Regardless, my kingdom for a horrifying rating.

I have a quick question because I'm genuinely curious, and not attempting to instigate an argument. What are your standards for using preferred pronouns? Most of you say "she" when referring to Brianna Wu, and "he" when referring to Jazz.

There's no standards for pronouns on here. I use whatever pronouns based on my mood and how friendly I'm feeling towards the transsexuals at that particular moment. People will switch between pronouns in the same post. I don't think it's indicative of any especial malice towards troons, people just don't really care. I see a lot of 'they'--you aren't gonna get people riled up, but you don't have to pretend like a man in a dress is a woman.

Thank you both, Crunchy Leaf and BigRuler, so much for your patience and understanding. It's just strange to me because Jazz is infinitely more feminine than Brianna Wu.
Yeah, but Jazz being born a male is the only recent Jazz is relevant. Brianna's thread has very little to do with transgenderism, outside of the overlap between transgenderism and florid narcissism.

I hope I don't get downvoted, but you have a point there. Jazz has a lot of masculine features hidden in there, but at least she doesn't look....UGLY.

yeah, because jazz is a 17 year old child while wu is a 40 year old boomer. many boys are still pretty androgynous in terms of looks at age 17 (some men even complain about babyface well beyond 20)
but give him 25 years, and jazz will be just as unconvincing and non-passing as wu is now - that is, if he hasn't killed himself by then.

I intend no offense, but Jazz didn't go through male puberty and has no male features. She doesn't have prominent orbital brow ridges or a squared jaw, no Adam's apple, she's short, and her voice never dropped. Phenotypically, Jazz will always pass as female. She may have broad shoulders but everything, including her shoulders, are within a female range. Wu, on the other hand, clearly went through all five stages of male puberty. Crunchy Leaf, you hit the nail on the head: Jazz's entire existence is the bane of so many people. A child who was allowed to transition.

A child who was 'allowed to transition'? More like a child forced to transition.

Yeah, he looks like a 13 year old boy.
Here's a photo of one of the last castratos.

He's definitely a little androgynous looking, more so than a regular Italian man, but not feminine.

Jazz doesn't look particularly like a little boy, that's just a bias that you guys have because you know she's transgender. If you met Jazz on the street and didn't know she was transgender, there'd be no question in your mind if she was male or female.

Look at Jazz's transgender friend, Skylar, who transitioned at 11. Does she look like a eunuch to you? If a child is given cross-sex hormones early enough, they will develop physically like the opposite sex.
