If my son tried to cut off his penis, I would assume he was getting sexually assaulted at daycare/school. This is actually a new horrifying line of thought I hadn't previously considered--little boys who are getting molested want to be girls so their abuser will stop.

Somehow I think there's a connection in the fact most transgender individuals have experienced some sort of sexual trauma in early life.

Edit for clarification: I think a lot of the people in these statistics were traumatized and trooned out to cope. Some of these kids could very well be be the same. Especially if the kid was trying to harm his own body parts in an attempt to get rid of them.

The latest episode of I Am Jazz is honestly pretty hard to watch. Jazz is infantilized, constantly coddled and doted on, and now has to deal with the very real situation that a manic botched surgery was not the instant go-to solution to provide relief and confidence. Meanwhile all the other kids get ignored or regulated to the background to shill when their parents should be making sure that their needs are emotionally met as well as their youngest sibling goes through a scary procedure.

This family is fucked.

Edit: You know, I get that Jazz suffers from depression but hearing it being brought up in every damn episode really doesn't inspire much confidence that they're doing anything to actively curb it. They yanked the kid out of school because it was "too stressful", constantly bend over backwards so that little lord Fauntleroy doesn't have to feel the slightest bit of adversity, shut down anyone that thinks differently in front of Jazz, and are constantly cooing at the kid and pretending like everything is fine. Part of the way towards beating depression is confrontation and moving forward. There is always going to be emotional hardship and adversity in your life, especially if you happen to get your dick lopped off. But avoiding the mere mention of unpleasant things altogether or discussing one's mental illness to almost fetishistic levels doesn't do diddly dick except make you stagnate. It just leads me to believe that when the full reality of the situation hits Jazz, his coddling family and all his shills won't give him the honesty and support he truly needs to help overcome his obstacles.

As far as I can tell, this seems to be accurate. The first few sentences line up with everything we've heard about, that doctors couldn't operate on Jazz's prepubescent penis and that his family went doctor-shopping until they found one who had his own method of creating a neovag out of stomach lining.

As for the rotting part, I can't really say. I haven't seen the episode or anything, all I know is that Jazz no longer has a penis but his new vagina is completely fucked up. Maybe that has something do to with what's currently going on, but I remember upthread someone mentioning the doctor's surgery had a high failure rate and that people had to come back to him to get it fixed.

Jazz' suffering is 100% not over. I bet he feels WAY worse than his tweets make it look like. But since he is hailed as a trans icon, has cameras in his face constantly and an overbearing horrible mother he can't tell the truth. You can only read between the lines and ignore the fake positivity.

He never went through puberty, had a small penis & testes, is unable to orgasm and now he went trough genital surgery 2 times in a row. Also he doubt he really "loves" dilation. Perhaps he felt it wasn't so bad because he was on pain meds.

it is accurate, they used peritoneal (abdominal cavity lining) tissue to give more length, plus it excretes some kind of fluid. It isn't like vaginal fluid and it isn't known if it smells bad or not because the procedure is so new & very few people have gotten a whiff of peritoneal fluid without blood being mixed in.
My gut feeling (haha, see what I did there?) is that having to suture together two types of tissue into one orifice is going to create more opportunity for constricting scar tissue, adhesions (out of control scar expansion), or separation of the two tissues at the site where they join. Inverting a dick is troublesome enough when it is one discrete type of tissue. No one knows what the fuck happens ten years from now with a piece of abdominal cavity lining sewn into an inverted penis. Really seems wrong for a doctor to do it without knowing ahead of time since it is essentially cosmetic. The other options were tissue expanders (baloons under the skin with saline injected into them to create extra skin to use for surgery, they do this for all kinds of surgeries so it is much saner IMO) or topical specialized testosterone to grow the dick temporarily before surgery.

The worst part of all this rearranging is that it guarantees he will never have a sex drive. There was some question about developing a sex drive if testosterone was introduced previous to surgery, but now there isn't a chance. It might even be dangerous to use testosterone post operatively since it isn't clear what parts of the remaining tissue would grow in response to any testosterone introduced into the system. it is a "vagina" for show only. It is unlikely that Jazz could even become a bitter house wife that fucks her husband out of duty, because guys who want that arrangement generally want to have kids. Chasers aren't going to be into him either anymore. Its going to be a really lonely life.

A real highlight of the episode is when the doctor says that Jazz cant attend some trans conference because of the surgery. Jazz immediately looks over to the mother and says something to the effect of "oh she is going to be really disappointed". It then cuts to the mom explaining that her and Jazz both love going to this conference, and that she is upset because Jazz wont be able to enjoy it. Its obvious that Jazz doesnt give a shit but the mom really loves the attention.
