The funny thing is I have no doubt that Trump absolutely would game the system for his kids in this manner if the opportunity ever came up, but the fact is he never actually did, and as of now the idea that you would've done something if it was both necessary and you could get away with it isn't actually a crime (which is why I've never robbed a bank)

Remember in 2013 when the NSA program came out and Merkel was kvetching about the US spying on germany (and then Germany's own intelligence agency got hacked and it turned out Germany was spying on the US and the UK?) And while the US got mildly sternly worded letters from a few other countries, but there wasn't any real diplomatic backlash?
Everyone knows all the governments spy on each other. The only real surprise to anyone with an IQ over room temperature and any awareness was that solid evidence of said espionage activity actually got out.


Same thing here. This isn't new, or surprising, to anyone who's even slightly observant. This has been going ever since there have been universities. The only shock here is that someone was blatant enough doing it to get caught.

So a shit candidate who lost out the Texas senate to Ted Cruz despite massive shilling from the media is now running for President.

If people think he has a shot as president, he sure as shit doesn’t.

I said this before in this and other threads but Beto is the white version of Obama; panders to the far left progressives in order to get their votes and then shills for the rich elites.

Who is he running against at this point? Is there even a frontrunner or is it nothing but a bunch of Whodats elbowing each other to break into the mid-teens percentile of support? We’re coming up on a time where people start deciding whose campaigns they donate to. Commercials might start filming soon. Trump is still winning by default because he’s running against Generic Democrat Candidate.

Unfortunately, a fair number of young folks I know have already been donating to Sanders. (When I ask them if they've ever been to Venezuela, they call me hateful. I'm so optimistic for America's future...)

I honestly wouldn't mind Sanders too much, he's no AOC. He's been pretty normal in his voting record. As president, I wouldn't be surprised if he went normal neoliberal dem.

Joe Biden seems to be the sleeper choice, but the progressives will only vote for Kamala Harris, Tulsi Gabbard, and maybe Cory Booker. None of which have what it takes to win. The DNC establishment will likely back Joe Biden or Kamala Harris.

He wouldn't have to, he could get his kids in the old-fashioned way, buying a new library for the school or whatever. Rich people of every persuasion have been doing that to get their kids into college for as long as colleges have been making pretenses of only accepting students on academic grounds, most likely. This is a mocked but 100% accepted way of getting kids in. The difference in this current thing is that it involved falsification of records, hidden bribery (the IRS is gonna love that), and corruption of SAT proctors which hasn't been getting nearly as much play but is probably the biggest eyebrow-raiser of the whole thing. It all happened in the shadows and behind closed doors, rich donors dumping money into colleges and universities is blatant and no one hides it. The only reason anyone's trying to tie this to Trump is pure "Cheating to get into college BAD! Orange man BAD! ORANGE MAN CHEAT TO GET INTO COLLEGE!"

If Biden's the nominee, you know his campaign will pander with the nostalgia nonsense such as "remember the good days!" I think that's going to back fire hard, especially on the progressives since they felt betrayed by Obama.
