On December 27th, 2014, Christian Weston Chandler allegedly assaulted a GameStop employee with what is believed to be pepper spray. He did this after the employee threatened to call the police. Chris had been banned from the store for vandalizing a Sonic Boom display. He doesn't like Sonic Boom, and has been actively petitioning for Sonic Team to recall all Sonic Boom products, because Sonic was redesigned to have blue arms, instead of flesh colored. He says that this gives him sensory overload. Vandalizing displays was his way of protesting.

The video of the assault is recorded here. The original thread for this is here. The thread mainly involved discussion of, "what did he do to the guard on the way out?". It was later confirmed to be pepper spray by the GameStop itself, and by the next point of discussion.

A recording of a call to the local jail here confirmed that Chris is awaiting a Monday hearing. The operator also confirmed that it was pepper spray.

For using mace on the GameStop manager, Chris was arraigned the following Monday on charges of releasing a hazardous gas, a sixth-degree felony in the state of Virginia that can result in "a term of imprisonment of not less than one year nor more than five years, or in the discretion of the jury or the court trying the case without a jury, confinement in jail for not more than 12 months and a fine of not more than $2,500, either or both."

Chris was later released on bond; five days later, he got into another altercation with the Charlottesville Wal-Mart manager over his ban from there, and threatened again to use his mace. You can read about this incident here.

Discussion threads for this event:
  • The Assault in GameStop
  • Chris in Jail, awaiting Hearing on Monday February 5th, 2015.
  • Chris released on bond.
  • Chris's second incident at Wal-Mart

Okay, this thread is now open. I will expand the splinter thread list if needed.

This thread is for baseless speculation. Will Chris go to trial? Does this violation of parole assure he'll go to jail? Will he go to tranny prison or what? Will he drop the soap? If he drops the soap in tranny prison, what happens?

Discuss.

The thing that's standing out for me in this situation is that the guy he pepper sprayed was in no way, shape or form, threatening, blocking, or attempting to detain Chris. It would appear all he did was offer to call the police.

Chris is already on his way out and only a few, unobstructed steps from the door when he attacks the guy, his decision to spray the employee strikes me as pure vindictiveness and nastiness, and is definitely an act of aggression on Chris' part.

It's also telling that his victim is pretty much the last person he has a chance to attack, so it's like he's waiting for the last possible moment when his escape is assured.

Holy crap, all our sperging came true!

Two days ago if you asked me I would have said it wouldn't have been worthwhile to send Chris to jail for the BS he does, but after macing someone he's proven that his delusions have rendered himself a menace to himself and society. He needs to be in jail not for his own benefit, but to protect innocent people from him. You know, like other criminals.

My speculation:

Chris will be released on Monday without bail or will post bond if necessary.
Subsequent, as Chris receives monetary aid and is in possession of no assets, he will receive a court appointed attorney.

After that, no idea. Probably hope to cut a plea that will keep him out the kit-kat, maybe some mandatory counselling or evaluations, but otherwise no actual punishment.

*edit* man....I shoulda bet money.

OPL was trying to be "cute" and "sassy." Like most things in his life, it backfired spectacularly.

Oh man, Chris is on the inside now. To think that his rabid hatred of Sanic's arms drove him to a life of crime. What a senseless waste of a life... to think that the bright and cheery Chris from the "Future Message" days would eventually end up like he is now: A burnt-out shell who got on the wrong side of the law.

While I doubt Chris will go to jail, I'm curious, does anyone have a grasp on how mail with inmates works?

I understand how money works from being employed at a bank (JPay, it's like PayPal for the incarcerated). But what if weens go all Ma Beagle and bake Chris a cake with a copy of Sonic Boom in it. I'm sure they search the packages and would find it. Would that actually get Chris in trouble?

I would say this is just really unbelievable but it isn't. The insane amount of fanboyism that Chris actually has for Sonic is pretty unbelievable that he would violate laws just because Sonic has flesh-colored arms instead of blue...and it's not like the Gamestop employees can do anything about Sonic's arm-color. Oh well, I guess a sane person doesn't ask themselves that before they go on a loony tirade.

I agree with this, The more I think about it anyway.

Chris has gone from funny, sperging with impotent rage about the very definition of a first world problem to you know assaulting people. We all know his ego shields him from realising the reality of his own problems an accepting the rare times he is held accountable for his actions. But it's high time he had that particular worldview challenged if not completely shattered, we know he does stupid thing we don't hear about all the time an he hasn't got in any real trouble for them, this time however his actions could have more than just inconvenienced people it could have hurt them, his ego needs popping of he will do it again.

I think he is now going to get a real punishment as this was assault with a weapon, unprovoked as well.

He is not going to enjoy the new year, well enjoy it less than predicted anyway.
