Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

I was right:

TLDR - I tried to get Doug fired and got backlash for it, so now I'm running away with my tail between my legs.

I think the most telling part in all this is that Doug invited this "journo" over for a chat and he declined, instead he wanted to discuss it over in DMs. What a vagina.

IGG is acting questionable again:

I decided to keep an eye on the story because of a gut feeling and was unfortunately correct about what I was worried about:

This guy got the full VoxDay treatment. His project reached it's small goal of $500 and just when it was finally over and he was about to cash out, IGG pulled the project and has started to refund the orders:

Don't get me wrong, I don't give 2 shits about this guy's book but this type of shit infuriates me like nothing else. TBH the book looks like trash and it's about a dude in a confederate flag suit protecting statues from antifa types, it can't get any more autistic than that.

As much as I dislike VD, he should be able to sell his shit to anyone who's dumb enough to buy and so should this guy. Going over the details of the book I barely see anything Suspension worthy. Just taking a wild guess that it's the Confederate Flag that did it, which is peculiar since IGG had no problems with the crowdfund for the 1st issue:

Why didn't they axe it immediately like KickStarter did? 🤔:

HA, as I was writing this Bounding did their article, they cover pretty much what I just did, but didnt go into the Google Caches nor the previous attempts at this project:

IndieGoGo has suspended the Rebel Yell Issue #2 campaign and backers for the project are already reporting they are receiving refunds on their transactions.

Twitter user EvaUnit02NZ posted a screenshot from IndieGoGo indicating their transaction for Rebel Yell Issue #2 had been refunded. The email also indicates that “IndieGoGo’s Trust and Safety Team determined this campaign didn’t comply with our Terms of Use. You’ll no longer receive any perks associated with this transaction.”

View attachment 745880

The campaign is also no longer searchable on IndieGoGo’s website. However, the campaign page is still active. On the top of the page it reads, “This campaign is under review. It is not accepting contributions.”

The page also indicates the campaign had been suspended. (Archive link: http://archive.li/y8B0t)

ElectricDinosaur, the creator of Rebel Yell, reported that the campaign and their account had been suspended. They also noted that they are “intending to fulfill all our prior orders for free, as our thanks to y’all for ‘sticking with us.'”

View attachment 745887

We previously reported that IndieGoGo had refused to disperse funds to Electric Dinosaur following the successful crowdfunding campaign for Rebel Yell Issue #2. The comic had raised $541 from 18 backers.

The comic features a masked hero named Rebel Yell who takes a stand in Vandal City after “malicious mobs” seek to destroy the traditions, symbols, and heroes of the past.

This isn’t the first comic book crowdfunding campaign to be shutdown. IndieGoGo is reportedly facing a class action lawsuit after they shut down Arkhaven Comics’ Alt-Hero: Q crowdfunding campaign.

The lawsuit was confirmed by Flying Sparks writer Jon Del Arroz who told us why he switched from using IndieGoGo to KickStarter, “My publisher’s currently in a lawsuit with IndieGoGo over their deplatforming of Chuck Dixon’s Alt-Hero Q book, and so it wouldn’t make sense to use the platform.”

Del Arroz also noted that the lawsuit is going “excellent!” He adds, “They’re in big trouble because what they’re doing is illegal.”

Not only is IndieGoGo facing a lawsuit, but a number of other comic book creators who were funding crowdfunding projects on IndieGoGo indicated they had not received payment from IndieGoGo following their campaigns.

What do you make of IndieGoGo suspending the Rebel Yell Issue #2 crowdfunding campaign? Will this make you wary of backing products on IndieGoGo in the future?

Sure enough if you search around you can find some SJW reeeeeee-ing about the first book:
https://archive.fo/RAoXb
View attachment 745971

I'm guessing the 2nd issue also got some reeeeeee-ing out there.
Question: does the TOS explicitly allow this kind of bait and switch bullshit?

Because this is remarkably dickish -- allowing a project to come to term, then cancelling it and refunding everyone is basically robbing the creator of that most valuable resource: time.

What happened to the Day v IGG lawsuit? Last I heard Rekieta said there was a slam dunk in the TOS for Vox, but I never heard if IGG settled because of that.

This is a very strange situation. the confederate naval jack for decades was viewed as a symbol of rebellion, now more retards shriek that it's a symbol of hate and any image of it must be stricken from the record. They convince the powers that be that this is true and anything resembling the flag is destroyed. That makes sure that any physical manifestation of the flag is a means of rebelling against the established order, there by proving that without a doubt that the flag is a symbol of rebellion.

Because this is remarkably dickish -- allowing a project to come to term, then cancelling it and refunding everyone is basically robbing the creator of that most valuable resource: time.

The same thing happened to Vox Day's Alt Hero: Q, which is why he's in legal dispute with Indiegogo.

The article outlines the TOS, which are ....broad to say the least, but that tends to be true of all these platforms that prefer TOS that allow them to act with impunity:
  • Indiegogo’s Rights Concerning User Accounts; Termination

  1. We have the right to monitor, terminate, suspend, or delete any User Account at any time for any reason, or no reason. It is our policy not to comment on any reasons for termination and we have no obligation to provide you with a reason for termination.
  2. We will not have any liability to you or third parties for any use of the Services associated with your account or Campaign. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Services and User Content. All representations and warranties shall survive termination.
There is a line with Indiegogo it would appear, and Q-Anon conspiracy theories and pretty overt propaganda would seem to be that line. They, like comicsgate itself, are keen to avoid being labeled the fashy fundraising platform. I doubt this will have any impact on comicsgate projects however, for at least as long as comicsgate is making money for them. EVS speaks to them regularly and Indiegogo seem receptive to conversation and common sense.

EVS rakes it in on YouTube, he doesnt mainly rely on Crowdfunding. Before the Nerkish incident CG was all against letting SJW weirdos use guilt by association but the minute Nerkish wouldnt bend the knee for Ethan he abandoned that stance and became a coward afraid of SJWs associating him with fans of another person. "Ohmergerd Jew Jokes but I had a Sketch book called Mein Kampf" lol and yeah using SJW tactics like deplatforming when you say you stand against deplatforming makes you a hypocrite with zero credibility.

Didn't Nerkish coin the phrase 'comicsgate adjacent'? It's hard to gate-keep someone out of a movement when they seem extremely reluctant to be associated with it in the first place.
I think you'll find EVS has been remarkably consistent about how he views the ethos and ethics of comicsgate and always has been.
Cashgrab put EVS in a bind. You have to pick your battles, and unlike Sargon and his exceptional white nigger remarks, posts about cumming on Jews ashes and really out there edgy-boi humor is probably not the hill you want to die on, it's certainly not the hill EVS wanted to burn his business and livelihood to the ground for.

Nerkish was given the simple option, 'come into the fold and disavow the openly racist shit that I don't want to get smeared with on your Discord or fuck off'.
He chose poorly.

As for deploying SJW's tactics against them.
Well when Saul Alinsky wrote his 'Rules for Radicals' I guess he failed to appreciate the fact that the Right can be radical too and can employ his rules just as effectively.
You can see in comicsgate the evolution of the movement towards this, comicgate started with conversations and debate with the other side in an attempt to find common ground, but as the anti's went full Alinsky, it slowly dawned on the boomers that conversation wasn't going to bride any gaps.
The SJW's defined the rules of engagement and by God comicsgate has effectively deployed the same tactics against them.
  • "Power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have."
  • "Never go outside the expertise of your people."
  • "Whenever possible go outside the expertise of the enemy."
  • "Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules."
  • "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon."
  • "A good tactic is one your people enjoy."
The difference between Comicsgate and the SJW's is that when made to live up to their own standards and rules it's the Anti's that look hypocritical.

Ethan Cucked to SJWs. That's what happened. He trolls SJWs with his Nazi references, sketchbook named mein Kampf and publicly announcing 88 pages. That's all by design. Ethan is a master at marketing and manipulation. Angry SJWs=Cash in his pocket. That's all comicsgate is now. Marketing Outrage.

IGG doesnt want to lose out on the payday that is the percentages they get from Ethans 3 six figure campaigns he has yet to fulfill. That's common sense for them.

Sketchbook named MY STRUGGLE which can be translated into Mein Kampf (no shit it was a troll), I agree he should make his book an odd number of pages instead, that makes sense. @damain posted 2 recent things that IGG has deplatformed despite not going against their TOS (Vox and that rebel flag hero above). Vox made $100k, rebel flag guy made $1k over 2 issues, but EVS should keep associating with a guy who screams nigger, makes fun of the disabled and whatever else Nerkish did that's current year taboo and will get people de-platformed. All why relying on that platform as a source of income.

I didn't ask this ~a month ago when you first showed up in the thread, but you had my almonds activated and warning lights going off at the time; Are you Jesse Miller?

Oh fuck off with that, it was a joke from like 10 years ago that no one cared about until Trump won. Do you know how many Nazi references DC has? Darkseid has been shown reading the damn book. Moose Bauman was the one who came up with the name anyway and NO ONE is giving him shit for it. They just don't like EVS.

88 pages is one of the industry standards for graphic novels. There's even a kickstarter tutorial mentioning that exact length several times. It should also be in 8 page increments when possible. People are making this a bigger deal than it is because they're bending over backwards to pick fights with him over anything he does.

Of course it's marketing you fucking spectrum jockey. EVS has said over and over that CG is a * consumer * movement. Reaching consumers requires marketing. He has done nothing except remain consistent in this regard.

Giving him shit for being late on his delivery dates is fair game I suppose... but the guy consistently posts in progress screenshots / streams of the work. Could he spend less time circle jerking in four hours streams? Sure I guess... but it's not like there is any legit concern over him scamming his backers.

I'm not a backer and I give zero shits about comic books, but damn these kind of arguments are just exceptional.

I honestly give zero fucks about CG or the autists who support it...however, Anti-CG is so spergy that it makes me want to support EVS and Co. Out of spite. Anti-CG is a bit more reprehensible than Anti-GG was in that many of them are actively trying to ruin people’s lives

You should watch "the producers"

TL;DR That is an autistic response to Earthworm Jim guy.

As for the Nerkish discord Ethan was mad because people talked about One Dirty Tree there, had nothing to do with Nazi jokes, he loves those. Pretty sure @Least Concern saw nothing was posted there that came even remotely close to the organized autism of the War Campaign.

Ethan cries about Nerkish discord but cruises the farms for material.

This is why most people on this site ended up "pro-Gamergate" as it was almost inescapable. GG spergs were complete retards but the anti-GG spergs were not only just retards but evil as well, so. . .what are you gonna do when faced with two sides and one's stupid and the other is stupid too but also evil?
