I'm not a fancy big city lawyer or nothin'. But is there a significant legal difference between waving around a pocket knife or a bottle of pepper spray?
Brandishing is a crime, but mostly only for firearms and long knives.

You could try to argue pepper spray qualifies as a "gas operated weapon" but I think it's more intended to cover BB guns, airsoft, and such. If Chris gets charged, it probably won't be a weapons charge.

EDIT:
So I'm completely retarded with how the legal system works, at least in VA. Seeing as he posted bail for his arrest the other week, would I be correct in assuming he won't get that back if he got arrested again?
If he posted the entire bond himself, he loses it all. If he used a bail bondsman, he was never getting back the 10% he paid anyway, but now the bondsman is out the cash.
All this being if he even got arrested of course.

Damn, I wonder why Chris has suddenly start acting out in public like this? Is it because he bought a bottle of pepperspray and he now thinks he can push people around because of it?

Guys, we still don't know what happened, if anything. It literally could've just been Chris walking into Wal-Mart, being informed that he is banned, and yelling "I have pepper spray!" as he leaves because he thinks one of the employees is closing in on him.

Until we get confirmation, assume nothing of large magnitude happened.

Agreed, he really seems to have picked this up and ran with it. It didn't bother him a few months ago and despite his excuse of knowing about it before but being to busy with the house burning down, I'm not 100% convinced it's just Sonics arms.

He had his Lego high school, then his commissions, then "Catie". All of these just kind of fizzled out, so his blarms crusade is all he has to occupy his mind.
Basically, Chris being left to his own devices without anything to occupy his mind is just asking for trouble.
I think that's a critical point - he wasn't doing this before the Apology Letters. Now it's as if he's got a new grudge.
And I agree that having him unoccupied is going to lead to more desperate/spergy behavior.

Addendum: and remember, we all know how strong his grudge against the Game PLace was for banning him.

If so, it's strange that he didn't do this when he got the pocket knife.

Using pepper spray unprovoked after trying it on yourself and realizing how hazardous it is is dumb.

Threatening people with it after getting arrested for using it is just...Autistic.

This is completely one hundred percent true.

The fun part is that, if we wait long enough, whatever we speculate happened will probably come true in new exciting ways we'd never even imagined.

I think it may literally be that, in his mind at least, pepper spray is the weapon of a victim, and he's allowed to use it whenever he feels persecuted.
And we all know how often Chris feels persecuted.

Well, he didn't post the bail, he paid a bondsman ~$500 to post the bail. The Chandlers lose the $500 regardless of what happens, and it's likely the bondsman will be out $5,000.

He didn't have anything to get angry about in public, he was restricted to ineffectually waving it at his camera against the trolls, who at the time were the greatest villains in Chris's story
Now he's fixated on either blue arms, the lack of response to his apologies or his latest arrest (hell, most likely all of the above) which are all out there in Charlottesville for him to rail against

I wonder if being cooped up with no one but Barb in a hoard house almost all day every day, among other factors, is beginning to take it's toll and is partially responsible for the apparent deterioration of Chris. I've heard that living in excessive clutter isn't good for one's mental health, and compounded with the recent developments, I wouldn't be surprised.

That being said, Chris really needs to chill out.

I'm just glad he had enough sense to yell that he had it instead of whipping it out and using it right away. Although if this is true, it does kind of feel like Chris has hold of something that makes him feel powerful/invincible/NOTICEABLE now and he's getting a rush on that feeling.

TL:DR Chris be power tripping.

There's also a possibility that, as delusional as he can be, on some dim level he realizes he's pretty much useless in a knife fight. It took him a solid 1/6th of a minute to clumsily open his folding blade, and that was on camera when he could have re-shot the video if he'd wanted to. Maybe he feels more confident with a spray bottle full of chemicals than with a glorified utensil.

Barb doesn't supervise Chris because she CAN'T. Barb, on a good day, is awake for about 4 hours, plus she's what, 250 pounds at the age of 80? I'm surprised she was capable of leaving the hoard to go to the mall, or bail Chris out.

I believe I recall reading that for autistics in particular, your surroundings have a direct influence on your mental health. People who are particularly in need of pattern or structure in their daily routine (autistics, depressives, obsessive compulsives, ect) deteriorate rapidly in a cluttered or disorganized environment, and isolation will further exacerbate the problem. That nasty feeling you get if the sink is overflowing with dirty dishes? It's particularly draining to such individuals, apparently.

Before anyone says it and starts speculating. If Chris indeed is using pepperspray again, or in any way breaks a law, his bail/bond is over. He does not Pass Go, he does not collect $200.

And his bondsman will be really pissed. How would you feel if you paid money for a guy to get out and they piss it away in less than two weeks?
