I'd feel sympathy for him if he wasn't threatening to harm innocent people with pepper spray.

Ah, but they aren't "innocent"; To OPL, Dey are all Da Twolls.....you can mace a twoll. Y'see, They don't have feelings or souls or nervous systems. Not like real people.

I imagine this event (if true, and it seems likely) is just Chris impulsively going for broke.

"Got arrested for pepper-spraying some guy at GameStop? Well, they'll have to arrest me AGAIN. That'll show them!"

I don't think he's *consciously* thinking that way but he's certainly stuck in a circular pattern that even Philip Glass would envy. But at this point, it's "if I can't have your love, I'll take your hate" type of attention whoring. If he weren't so spectacularly Autistic, he'd probably have a Born To Lose tattoo across his fat stomach and holding up liquor stores with an airsoft gun.

It's almost as if he thinks Sega will notice how dead serious he is about his cause if he continues to get arrested for it. And they'll relent and change the blarms back.

so we go to blaming sega for the blarms to blaming stores for selling pepper spray, spray that he tried on himself. sorry guys my brain cant process all of this

But the courts can force him to see a therapist (I'm not 100% on how such an arrangement works but I'd guess the therapist reports on what progress Chris has made)
Courts can and often do order psych evals for defendants, but that's totally different than what will likely happen in prison. It'll probably be largely like real therapy, with confidence, etc., except that the therapist makes reports to the prison administration, and ultimately to a parole board when that time comes. Generally speaking a prison sentence isn't directly contingent on psychotherapy or progress in therapy.

EDIT: However, granting leniency in sentencing very often can be contingent on submitting to any number of conditions, which may include attending therapy, anger management, and the like. That supposedly happened last time, and Chris just didn't do it.

I mean, the guy that tried assaulting my girlfriend three times in a month was let out on bond twice. He whined and begged that his poor children were going to suffer if he was locked up and also he was the real victim since she broke his ribs and gave him a concussion.
I'll say this much: if you're the sole source of income for your household, even 24 hours in jail can fuck your life up massively. I'm sure the only reason that dick got the benefit of the doubt was because of the kids; his scattershot presentation just makes it harder to pin down.

The "security check" at the entrance is usually some old man who never saved for retirement.

Clearly, you meant to type "Anti-Blarmy".

Could he possibly have deluded himself into believing that he can't be arrested for pepper spraying someone again? Basically misinterpreting the "You can't be convicted of the same crime twice" myth.

Honestly, if Chris is going that route, I hope he goes full sovereign citizen. We'll have to get a popcorn machine for the trial.

I really really want that not be true but given some the things that client of thought were go reason or defenses I would not be too surprised

Organized Pseudolegal Commercial Argument litigants( are my favorites. I could totally see Chris saying I am Christen of the Clan Weston of the Family Chandler Legal repesentive and Shareholder of the Person "Christen Weston Chandler" its a bad idea but would be funny has all heck , and try and ask about it being a admirality court

I didn't think Chris would pull this off as he's on bail, it's JERK prison for him.

First of all, I highly doubt Chris remotely knows what the word "bail" means, nor do I think he understands that if he does something stupid, such as randomly assaulting a Wal-Mart employee over his pepper spray purchase or, god forbid, Sonics arms again; that he'll go back to jail without mommy being able to bail her special snowflake out. Chris just doesn't have the mental capacity to understand such things. The only things he understands right now is that since Sonics arms are still blue, he has to do something drastic to get people/Sega to notice. I wonder how long it will take for him to understand that normal human beings do not assault people because Sonics arms are blue, shit, even sonic fans know not to assault people over something so trivial.

I can see him being dragged off yelling, "You can't do this, it's dubba jeppady!"

Well you CAN'T be arrested for the same PARTICULAR crime twice. But yeah , people like Chris literally are likely to think that you can't be condemned for murdering someone if you've escaped murder prosecution once.

What a beautiful world that would be. "You can't arrest me for killing my wife with an axe , they tried to get me for the same thing before and couldn't , so I'll ask you to leave the premises officer!"

I hope that whatever happened was minor enough that Chris doesn't get put back into jail, but only because I feel sorry for that poor bondsman being out $4500 (he'd keep that 10%, presumably)

Generally, the purpose of bond is to ensure the presence of the accused in court, not to punish. It is very unlikely that the bondsman would forfeit the amount just because Chris chimped out.

What is more likely is that they raise bail, or simply let Chris cool his heels until the arraignment or later. This seems to be the Virginia statute pertaining to bail forfeiture, § 19.2-143.

Don't be all that shocked if they just let him back out, though.

Now taking bets on what store he terrorizes next... Best Buy? Target? Kmart?!?!

Christian Weston Chandler or better known as the gift that keeps on giving. And soon he'll be a gift to all of those people in whatever jail/cell they put him in.

I can totally see Chris acting like an Autistic Highlander... Christopher Lambert's dead stare of myopia, exchanged for Chris Chan's dead stare of unknowing.
