It's less about whether or not he's homophobic and more about the fact that he said it to begin with that won't sit well with Toei. People are just too stupid to realize the implications of official VAs saying things in character that are offensive and may be breaching any contract they may have signed specifically restraining them from doing just that. Toei is very possesive of their DBZ IP, so an english VA saying those things in character is bad for the VA but more importantly bad for Funimation because they allowed it to happen and they kept the recordings to boot.
