Basically breaks down towards the difference between a sociopath and a psychopath:
The two share similar traits (superficially charming, capable of manipulation/gaslighting others, highly sexual, complete lack of true empathy though they can fake it on a superficial level to manipulate their prey, prone to violence and acts of evil against those who have wronged them or who they feel have wronged them, delusions of grandeur)
The chief difference is that psychopaths have attention deficit disorder issues. Psychopaths tend to APPEAR to be all together, but if even the slightest thing goes wrong, they will break their carefully crafted masks of sanity and show their true evil selves. They also have issues with impulse control; a psychopath can have an elaborate scheme going on but screw it up to hell and back the moment they see something shiny and new.
Sociopaths are so cold blooded, they tend to overcome said ADD issues and are far better at planning on their feet than a psychopath when shit goes bad. Sociopaths take the "no real empathy" thing to an absurd extreme and EVERYONE is a disposable pawn, while at the same time making sure their pawns remain irrevocably under their thumb in terms of using the carrot/stick method to ensure they never betray the sociopath. More so, sociopaths are one tract minded to the point of Asperger syndrome and oftentimes, will keep chugging along to whatever evil scheme they got going on, no matter how many bullets put into them. It's why so many sociopaths go into politics, because only a sociopath can do what is necessary to get elected on state/national level.
Sure, that could happen, but if these posts become public record and the law gets involved, she'll be a pariah and the Gamergaters will strike. Patrick Klepek, Luke Plunkett, Jason Schreier, and Laurie Penny will be disgraced. This could likely lead to the literal end of Kotaku and Waypoint.

Calling the police isn't a magic trick where they serve as your personal army to find the evidence that the mean people broke the law. Police don't like dealing with international cases either. I get this MAY be a crime in Canada. Zoe is a US citizen. On top of that the family isn't looking to press charges. You got three massive hurdles here. What do you think is more likely, a boomer cop is gonna leap the three massive hurdles of jurisdiction, citizenship and no one pressing charges to defend the stained legacy of a dead developer driven to suicide..... or a boomer cop hits the first hurdle and says "welp, I really tried. Nothing more I can do"

I doubt notifying police will result in any sort of intervention. Alec is just another broken person swallowed up and spit out by an industry that if full of people with an insane range of personality disorders that make them parasitize and form temporary friendships which they're willing to flush down the toilet the moment the wind changes direction. The best thing you can do is warn everyone else about working near Zoe or working in the industry at all. Either develop it 100% by yourself or just play the games that are out there.

What's with all this police shit? Zoe Quinn is a terrible human being for sure. But Alex chose to surround himself with these kind of people. Sucks that anyone felt they needed to kill themselves, but how about surrounding yourself with people who are loyal that you can trust? When your circle is a bunch of pronoun Twitter accounts who would slit your throat for a like on Twitter, don't be surprised when you get thrown to the wolves.
How do you get an entire generation of commie art faggots? You give them degrees in a completely subjective field, you have no graduation requirements for math, finance, economics and a minimal science requirement where social sciences fill that pre req, but most importantly you have everyone drill into their head that free work = exposure = pay and you have to not get paid for your work starting out cause its the only way to get that foot in the door and once your foot is in the door thats when you get all the fame and lambos you ever wanted.
But the reality is the art world is more about networking. Even if you have undeniable tallent, your style can just be ripped off by someone else and social circles can choose to hype their copy person. These people have no idea how the business side of things works (see Scotts post about how he doesn't understand the incorporated corporate entity his pay checks are addressed to isn't real and is really just a name for an art colab like it was an indie band or something). That is why they are willing to work for free for what is more hours than a full time job.
But the funniest thing is there is talk of these guys unionizing. Rather than give the obvious UNIONS BAD CAUSE WORKER NO WORK speech, I think we should be a bit objective and look at what happens with unions. Unions are a double edged sword. They are great for your pay, benefits,and safety regulations. They also force management to work overtime to fix slack in production that doesn't get addressed with out them because its cheaper to leave in the work flow slack than remove it.
The thing people don't realize is unions do love one thing: work hours. You think 7 hours a day was hard Scott? Try 7 x 10s or 7 x 12s if there is a union stipulation to have manditory overtime if a project will fail without it. Why do they like work? Union dues. Don't get me wrong, they will make it worth your while, lots of unions have double and tripple time stipulations for anything over 8 hours of OT or on a weekend, but your hours at work will increase.
Unions also get bloated with nepotism and incompetence. Your union president will be an exceptional individual. Oh, and say goodbye to any single perk in your job that is not stipulated in the union contract. Also, unions don't have to accept you into them (what could go wrong with this with a clique of lazy credit stealing socialites already usurping the scene?). The reason a new journey man trade worker will get into a union with no skills is they know he will make $40k+ to be trained and the wage will keep going up and up. Oh, and unions don't like to pay different departments differently. Hey coder, you are gonna make the exact same as the coffee intern or the social media manager. A lot of times this will turn the important talent you need off from starting a union to begin with.
But here will be the best part. None of these people get how business works. The reason why unions work in construction or teaching or police or firemen to get what the workers want is these are dangerous jobs with little reward for performing right and massive consequences for performing wrong (which will most likely happen to everyone once or twice).
Videogames have deadlines, but they are not the end of the world if you don't meet them. Minor hit to stock price for not meeting an obscene deadline goal, gets smoothed out next quarter if sales go good. Demand is also not constant, so a re adjusted model can have all workers laid off for 2 years until they have a guarenteed project that they will call people back for, instead of what we have now of flinging shit at the wall constantly to see what sticks. Video games don't have fixed demand. Construction is always needed, teachers are always in demand every year, police are needed every year, firemen are always needed. Screen actor guilds only have power cause they leverage top tier talent. Oh and don't forget about SCABS. You have a whole generation of brainwashed youth who think they should work for free in order to be the next Hideo Kojima. Good luck doing a strike when you have tons of SCABS taking your place.
BTW, you are indie devs. You think an indie company is gonna give you a 401k and insurance for what is a gamble on hoping that their game stands out from the 50k other shovel ware releases?

The Writers guild had the Hollywood studios by the throat via the fact that the Big Studios could only hire writers to write scripts that were part of the guild. Non-WGoA members were basically blackballed from Hollywood and Dalton and his communist friends used this to unspeakable effect to "purge" Hollywood of anything remotely conservative. If you were a Republican or anything remotely conservative or not liking the communist party/Soviet Union, you were basically banned from gaining membership in the Writers Guild and banned from working at the Big Studios in Hollywood.
Furthermore being left wing/democrat wouldn't save you as you had to vote/be 100% in lockstep with the communists in the Writers Guild. If you said something that Trumbo and his cronies disliked, wrote a script that called out the horrors/mass murders/evil of Stalin, or did something Trumbo and his friends disagreed with? They would make it so studios would not buy your scripts or hire you to write a script for them. And they would greylist you from making a living until you did a Soviet-worthy recanting of your "heresies" before the entire Writers Guild in private shaming sessions Trumbo and his friends held.
Besides all of this, Trumbo and his cronies were notoriously corrupt abusing the Writers Guild to line their own pockets; getting THEIR scripts sold at top priority for lots of money and squashing projects that they disliked.
