Conrad Aaron Collins / Diginée / Digibro / Digibrony / Otaku Gonzo Journalism & the Pro Crastinators Podcast - Pedophile, Two-Faced Weeaboo Ponyfag Youtube Analyst Who Wants to be a Loli + Drama, Friends & Enemies

Christ, I can't even stand the first ten seconds of that video. I watched his more long-form content for a while (but I never subscribed) because I thought he was actually passionate about the whole thing and had something to say. Even his SAO Analytical Diatribe video that's just footage of him playing a random MMO while talking is at least reasoned and coherent. This new stuff is just desperately trying to pretend that he still gives the smallest lemon-scented shit about anime any longer, and the more exaggerated he gets the more infuriating he becomes.

Plus he looks like a smelly hobo. He at least cared for his beard better in the golden olden days.

Somewhat related, Davoo gave a sort of life update on his site.

As a Digibro archaeologist/veteran, I know what this is. He's going through one of his 'lulls' again.
What he usually does is make loads of one type of content day after day, then just stop, and later the cycle repeats itself. He can't commit to anything he does.
I honestly think that Digi would be an utterly massive anime YouTuber if he could just commit to his projects. But he won't, he never has and he probably never will.
Another theory I have is that he just doesn't care as much about the current crop of anime as before. The industry has changed from what it was when he got into it in the first place, and it lost that spark he had for it. Same happened with the ponies, after all. He's the type of guy (autist) who when he gets into something, he get's into it. He must know everything about whatever it is. It's just hard for him to find, and commit, to that thing in the first place.

Didn't he get involved post-DemoD+? Anime has been the same for fucking ever.

I’m not sure about DemoD, I don’t know much about him, but Digibro has had an anime blog well before a YouTube channel. I think ever since he had an Internet connection, he has been doing some type of anime bullshit even if it was just fanfictions and scanlations, he was up to something.
And I would argue that anime has changed, or at least is changing, mainly due to the season format they come out in now. That, and anime becoming more mainstream led to differences in what shows got popular, and therefore the trends that followed. It really used to be that if a great show came out, it would be talked about for a very long time. FMA, Eva, Cowboy Bebop, these shows are still talked about, but if they came out today they wouldn't be. Great shows have come out over the past few years, but get overtook by the endless stream of other shows that are hip at the moment. That makes it a lot harder to care about the anime content you make, it must be about the current big thing if you want the best chance at getting views.

Digi really is a piece of shit with how he fucked Davoo around for years, promised him a full-time job and a place to live then just abandoned all that shit because he can't commit to anything.
This would be fair if it was true, but Davoo himself quit to work on his own shit. Digi still talks about how great it was to work with him constantly.

IIRC the situation was that Digi told Davoo to look for other opportunities after saying he couldn't hire him full time. Pretty sure this was when he was still doing the whole frat house thing in Boston with that other guy who was living out of his car.

Seasonal anime has been a thing for 20+ now. Though it has certainly changed I'd say that's more do to an attempt to appeal to the niche otaku audience rather than the mainstream. Moe and ecchi shows have overtaken as the dominant genre and even shows not specifically at that audience include elements or character designs to pander to it.
As for Digi the earliest involvement I can find is the 2010 loli yuri rape tweet. Though I'm almost positive he's mentioned being involved on animenewsnetwork before that time. Does anyone know what handle he went on online before Digibrony?

When I said 'seasonal', it was more referring to watching habits, less so about how they are delivered. Now it seems that if you missed talking about a seasonal release, you're out of luck shit. People just consuming it and discarding it so quickly, if that makes any sense.
But anyways, his blog was "MySwordIsUnbeliveablyDull" on I think wordpress, and keep in mind that one, he is young, and two, on multiple shows and stuff he explained that his hikki friend Dan-San had piles of pirated DVDs and that he pretty much did the same due to terrible Internet connection and stuff.
EDIT: Here's the blog, the oldest post I found on that was from 2007

Nice using that I found some other older profiles he had.

Enclyopedia Metallum (Archive)
I don't know metal so I don't know if there are any hot takes, but he has 6 or 7 reviews on here.

Webfiction Reader (Archive)
"Writer with a primary interest in urban fantasy, psychology, young characters, and the exploration of sexuality. Most of my inspiration comes from Japanese light novels." He has a story on this one "Cirno and Purple Steve" It can be read here (Archive) (About) (Prologue) (1.1) (1.2) (1.3) (1.4) (1.5) (1.6) (1.7) (1.8,) (1.10) (1.11)

Wasn't positive at first if this was him since the typing styles seem different from his Wordpress and it is older, but the AIM account is the same and the taste in music is similar to his Metallum account.

Bakaupdates (Archive)
Note the radically different username. Doesn't have much besides some ratings and a post asking for help with translating a manga.

GameFAQs (Archive)
A Pokemon Battle Revolution review. He is also active in some of the fourms but there is no way to search for posts by user as far as I can tell.

Shishnet (Archive)
A bunch of anime avatars.

FC2 (Archive)
Has a video tour of his room. You can see a young Digi in this one.

Metal-wise, I’d say nothing special. Decent taste. Can’t complain.
That web fiction thing is new to me, I will save that for later.
I generally try not to shit on things people did as young teens or kids online, everyone does dumb shit when they’re young, but I will still laugh at it.

So they're back to the idea of the group house thing, but in VB this time? I'm sure it will work perfectly again. Hopefully Digi charges rent this time.

Also, unscripted ranting is what Digi and BGE are worst at. I can't believe they are trying to build a channel around it.

In the description of the new channel they made, I just find it weird Digi thinks it won't be such a loss to move Nate to Virginia Beach and he won't take such a huge loss. Considering how plans in the past went through with making the "PCP HQ" in the Boston area and the continuous fallbacks on actually pushing towards said goal. Even Ben and Davoo living with Digi was like a prototype of what this would be like and nothing really came of it. And if this is the content we can expect, I am not hopeful for anything worthwhile.

Also, Tom posted to his Instagram story and later on Twitter showing his setup for making more IAmGames content. I believe he is still living with his family in the Boston area, but interesting to see if he also later takes the move if he has healed properly.

"This guy's inconsistency with his work habits because of his emotional instability is sympathetic"
"This guy's inconsistency with his work habits because of his emotional instability makes him an asshole because "lolcow bad"'
Lol, OK

I feel its a bit different. Davoo doesn't have his own fanbase to keep donating to him on patreon that he can cater to earn money when he needs it like Digi and even didn't have consistent internet connection. Also, he doesn't have the income he had from being Digi's editor and has an actual job and the game dev stuff has been put to the side in order to work his actual job to keep a living. When Davoo was working for Digi and was more involved with the PCP since he had more time to focus on those things specifically he was pretty consistent and dedicated with his game projects he is dedicated, but he can't keep consistency due to other factors. Digi keeps getting money from patreon primarily from minimal effort rants and other patreon perks which he has been behind on for a while and considering this is all he does for a living and his primary work and projects, he has little excuse for his drug binges resulting in little updates on his content, quickly dropping projects, a lot of the issues with his move and stay in Boston, etc. I just don't think these situations are comparable in that way personally.
