Not sure what you're driving at - she isn't getting tons of money. The indie Game Development scene and the Comics scene aren't exactly known for paying employees great, livable wages - they're basically freelance/poverty jobs. Anything she got in 2014 is long gone to a point where it's just embarassing controversies and scams year over year.

She was already dwindling by virtue of being very "old news" but now she has the gigantic added issue of
- All of her fame/wealth coming from her "harassment" turned into her being the head of an anti-bullying network
- Her bullying an ex to death for literally no reason (as in, the things she said were actually untrue). He's literally dead and she's (by her own definition) killed him.

She, by trying to extend her life as a "victim", - hilariously shortened it. She's burned all of her "game developer" credentials with the Tingle scam, she hasn't been a "victim" for 4+ years, and her "comic writer" persona is pretty dead on arrival as the comic industry is literally melting down. She could have tried (before she killed that guy) to fall back on her "ran a non profit, anti-bullying advocate" persona for a few years but she's ironically accidentially killed it.

She'll try and come up with something new, I'm sure, but she's out of tricks at this point. Not only is she out of tricks, but she's got several very real problems and no solutions. A trip to Japan sounds nice, but flashy trips shared with no one but internet friends won't fill the void in your soul - espically when you're trying to forget that you manslaughtered an innocent guy to death so you can try and keep your grift going.

I didn't mean literally alone, just that she doesn't have real and tangible friends - the kind of friends you would look to when something really tragic happened in your life (ex - you sicced a mob on a dude for victim points and then he fucking necks himself and makes you look like a huge asshole). No real family, either (dad is dead, seems like she doesn't talk to mom, etc).

She has fly-by-night social media friends - the kind that are now throwing her away in 2019 the same way she threw people away in 2015. The "sagging" Manga industry is outselling comics by a full 100% in North America alone - meaning that for any comic sold, two manga are sold as well. This is a gap that has widened over the last few years as well, meaning it's looking like it will continue or get bigger as years go on.

The Japanese market (and creators) aren't the same as American creators - they don't care a ton about names, they care about the ability to produce. There are no Japanese version of Marvel Comics, in the sense that "this person is bad at their job but we keep them here because diversity" or "this comic is really bad but the producer is kind of famous". There's no way that Zoe could offer anything to a manga company - her stories are bad and she can't draw/design worth a shit, but not only that she has a really bad history of missing important deadlines, which is shit they don't tolerate much of over there.
