SFA3? No, don’t think so. SF:3rd Strike is still heavily played on Fightcade and is considered one of the greatest fighting games before the genre started transitioning away from arcade cabinets.

Could be wrong however.
 
Phil talking about Street Fighter reminds me of watching "Chasing Ghosts: Beyond the Arcade" when the pro video game players from the 70's talk about how games back in their day were so much better. "Ms. Pac-Man took skill. It took strategy. It took a cool head and a steady hand. Kids now a days just play that Grand Theft Auto garbage."

I kinda liked it mostly for the parts on Billy Mitchell and Twin Galaxies creating the facade of some sort of "golden age" of arcades. Even if it's not exactly what they portray, you can't deny the image is there. Makes me wonder how long Phil could've hanged on the competitive scene, and if he'd be more respected. Cause even if he is a scrub, guys like JustinWong trash talking and even getting curbstomped by Tokido gives him some legitimacy even if it's for bad reasons.

No, lots of people have a pre stream. Notifications sometimes take 5 minutes or so to get out to everyone so a short pre stream gives time for people to show up. Mister Metokur plays maybe a short song with "starting soon" scrolling across the top. Null plays a short song at the start. Tevin plays some cringy rap songs. Other streamers might tell a short story about their week, we took the kids to see a movie or something. Some might do some quick shout outs or show gifts that fans have sent them.

Phil is the only one to play 30 minutes of music and then talk for an hour and a half every day.

10 minutes to start the stream is fine, but 2 hours just for the games begin holy shit.

According to Dark Dave's Mirror (thank you for the brillant idea of keeping track of the time on the streams), DSP started gameplay at 7:15 pm tonight. DSP beat the final boss at 8:15 pm and sang along with the end credits music until 8:22 pm.

He's already done for the night after an hour of game play.

Now he's talking about how terrible it is to "cross the line" and obsess about his financial situation.



Edit: Fucking hilarious, someone cheered and asked DSP about Venmo. DSP's response was "I don't know what Venmo is; STOP ASKING!"

Double Edit: DSP said that he doesn't use Fightcade because "people use macros and cheat! They program their controllers so they can hit one button and automatically do a shruyken." Therefore "real fighters" can't play it fairly.

Desk calendars are the shit you get your coworkers because you don't give a fuck to spend more than $6.99

My boss used to get everyone them, J actually really enjoyed the sudoku one I got one year.

But to get one as the only gift from your wife? Embarassing.

DSP's pre-streams are different from every other streamer I know in that he takes forever to get to the games but the reason doesn't justify it, because he just repeats himself every fucking time. It should only take like 10 minutes to get through viewer messages but he has a bunch of pre-packaged propaganda to spew every damn time on top of that, plus he's longwinded in general etc etc.

There definitely good for some of his best rants, more entertaining than the streams from the perspective of his trolls.

One of the more bizarre insights into DSP's sexual side I think. Besides the fact that his attempts at comedy and commentary are indistinguishable from his co-op commentary with Rambo here, the male Sim also has to be forced off his ass (from doing "work") while also very tired to satisfy his woman, and DSP says about the male Sim something to the effect of "anything referencing intelligence with this guy is a misnomer" which is hilariously ironic to me.

I think this is the most I've ever seen DSP and Leanna flirt in their kahntent together, and it's pretty bizarre and clumsy. I wouldn't be surprised if this was an attempt by Leanna to invoke some sort of passion from him but instead just triggered clownmode commentary. I remember that time Leanna wore some cosplay thing and she was pushing her boobs out and DSP turned to her and said "what are you doing?" before looking back at the camera. The father/daughter meme is so perfect for those two, because he literally treated Leanna like she was his annoying daughter starting to discover her sexuality or something.

Don't forget about the incredibly awkward video they made during one of their staycations for Leanna's birthday where they spent an entire HOUR looking at porn titles. It's one of those things that could be funny (for a short time), the problem is that there aren't any real jokes being made aside from reading the titles and laughing. Worth noting that Leanna is very drunk (Phil is, too) and she's dropping hints she wants to fuck, but Phil just keeps on going with the video anyway. I didn't watch the whole thing, but one part I skipped to shows that neither Phil nor Leanna knew what a "whale tail" was, Phil thinking it refers to a fat woman while the video cover shows a woman wearing a thong with her pants hanging low. He's looking right at a whale tail and still doesn't get it. Okay then.
It's hard to find a video that better illustrates the total absence of chemistry they had than this.

His absurdly long pre streams are one of the weirdest and shittiest thing about dark. There is no one notably on YouTube/twitch/wherever that will waste at least an hour every day just not playing a game to repeat the same exact shit to you. The worst part is he genuinely doesn’t seem to understand how out of touch he is, he doesn’t watch other streamers, he just claims everyone does pre streams and everyone has to do plugs, ignoring the stark contrast of reality. Imagine what he does everyday being the norm on twitch, I’d be like playing Russian roulette to find a stream actually playing a fucking game.

He also says he has to get through shout outs on pre stream or that would be all you hear him doing during gameplay....but his whole gimmick is he interacts with people....isn’t the best case scenario that he has a fairly consistent stream of things to respond to from his chat? It literally makes no damn sense.

But it’s why dark stands at the top of these exceptional individuals, his greed, laziness, and stupidity all blend together to create a genuinely awful stream. He doesn’t want to play games so he does nothing but waste time with hour long prestreams and multiple long breaks, he feels the need to tell the same viewers the same information every single day in hopes the pignosis gets to them and they fork over their cash even harder, and worst of all it’s all under the guise this is normal of a streamer or worse he’s actually doing it better than other streamers.

I genuinely don’t get how you can like this guy, he shits on his fans by attacking them, insulting them, and blaming them when things don’t go his way, he constantly wastes their time, and he constantly insults their intelligence relating the same nonsense every day. Content only the truest of bottom feeders can appreciate

Solution: Make a slide on the slide show that plays during the half hour of music that shows the top ten cheerers, tippers, and sub gifters. Update it every night. Other than that give GoldenColts I mean anonymous a shout out for cheering over night. Make another slide posting the autistic chat rules. Make a third slide with the week's schedule. Bam! I just shaved 45 minutes off the pre stream.

Its just so wacky how casually shit like this happens with this dude, he used to say this when he was supposedly tight on cash before his paycheck, and now we’re in a reality where no matter what he needs tip, even the day he gets payed by twitch. We just entered this eternal state of needing tips

its not only that he gets them immediately. i think the main reason he wants tips is because he gets the most out of it.
if someone wants to cheer 10$, twitch gets 50% (i think) and he only gets 5$. if someone tips 10$ he gets almost the full amount.
he basically wants to cut out the middleman (twitch).
