Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

So I'm starting to prep this week. I've got a feeling in my bones. Questions:

1) How much water do I need for 2-4 people?

2) What are the best non-perishable food items that will last for years that are easily available?

For meds, I'm just going to buy a ton of NSAIDs, Lidocaine and such. Basic antibiotics.

Didn't we figure out that open braziers burning sweet scented herbs doesn't keep the plague away some time in the 17th century?
Pretty sure it was around then anyway.
I don't know. I mean, maybe we should all just buy plague doctor masks, potpourri and essential oils. We'd look damned fashionable and smell pretty to boot.

The CDC only coming out today and saying "begin preparing" is quite telling after the weeks of insisting that closing boarders and cancelling flights were "'dats racist". All the major western governments have been really slow to respond in fear of causing economic panic and/or pissing off China and it's going to cost lives. Having certain major industries so centrally located or who sourced base parts from one country was a phenomenally bad idea.

I'm fairly well stocked but even I'm going out first thing tomorrow morning to stock up on a few things. Also, getting a large bag of dog food because no way in hell I'm risking my pets starving.

Keeping the gas tank topped off as well...

Iran's Deputy Health Minister has been smooched by corona-chan. What a sense of humour that girl has:

Iran's deputy health minister and an MP have both tested positive for the new coronavirus, as it struggles to contain an outbreak that has killed 15.

The country is one of three hot-spots outside China causing concern that the virus could be becoming a pandemic.

The deputy minister, Iraj Harirchi, had on Monday denied covering up the scale of the outbreak. He appeared to be in discomfort as he spoke to reporters.

Iran has reported 95 cases, but the actual number is thought to be higher.

The director general of the World Health Organization (WHO) has said the sudden increase in cases in countries outside China is "deeply concerning".

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on Tuesday that Washington was concerned that Iran may have concealed "vital details" about its outbreak and urged all nations to "tell the truth about the coronavirus".

More people have died in Iran from the virus than anywhere else outside China. The two countries have strong trading links.

The other countries currently in the spotlight are South Korea and Italy, where cases have surged in recent days.

Incorrect. The CDC urged the US government not to let people in from China or from the Disease Prison cruise ship. It was the WHO that were crying about racism and pretending nothing was wrong.

1. Gather water like right now get as many containers and fill them. bottles jugs. etc.
2. Rice cereals canned food.
As for meds keep any antibiotics and pain meds I'm talking prescription strength stuff. You may already have it in your drug cabinet check the expiration date. you maybe able to survive corona Chan but you could probably die if you get cut and it becomes infected. Pain meds can be traded for more resources. I would recommend buying some shitty bottom shelf vodka. Vodka is good for disinfecting cleaning antiseptic and it's easy to drink. As well as can be traded.
You can like get a gallon of it for 10 dollars.

They've been saying that to government officials yes, but today was the first time they directly came out to the public and said "this could be it."

1) Around 4 liters per person per day
2) Dry beans and dry rice.

260 suspects in Chile.

Goodbye, kiwis. It was a pleasure to shitpost with you.

Not to downplay anything, but over here in the UK they've tested like 3,000 people - but only 13 have been confirmed, and we know where they all got it.

Which means unless a good chunk of those people ARE infected, you might be okay. Especially, if they figure out where and how they got infected.

This is the problem with the likes of Iran, it's spread everywhere and they've failed to track any of it properly. How can you effectively lock this shit down if you don't know who has it and where?

New cases in Germany:

Top news (21.07 o'clock): According to FOCUS online information from security circles, there is also the first Corona case in North Rhine-Westphalia. Accordingly, a person in Erkelenz near Mönchengladbach has tested positive for the virus. As the "Rheinische Post" reports, it is a couple from Erkelenz who was brought to the University Clinic in Düsseldorf. At least one of the two had tested positive for Corona.

Top news (8:58 p.m.): In Baden-Württemberg, a patient has for the first time been shown to have contracted the new type of corona virus. It was a 25-year-old man from the Göppingen district, said the Ministry of Health in Stuttgart on Tuesday evening. He probably got infected during a trip to Italy in Milan. After returning, the patient was ill with flu-like symptoms and contacted the local health department. He was to be taken to a clinic on Tuesday evening and housed and treated in isolation.

The new cases are appr. 5 hours apart (via car)....corona-chan seems to take a route from Italy via Austria up to Germany. Let's wait and see when the first cases in the Netherlands/Belgium pop up.

They've quarantined a hotel in Innsbruck, Austria, where an infected Italian lady worked as a receptionist.

Our law enforcement is equipped with state of the art protecive gear I see
Also "No one is allowed to enter or leave as far as we could see" lol

Sorry for double posting, but this NEEDS a translation - fucking hilarious.

The reporter says that the hotel is under lockdown and nobody is allowed to enter or leave (quote: "As far as we can see") - AS A MAN IN THE BACKGROUND IS LEAVING THE HOTEL and a friendly cop with a mask (didn't they tell us that they are ineffective) is holding the door open for him :story:
