Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

A bigger problem is we have people so stupid they think "going to the doctor" in a pandemic is good or useful.
If it's not that bad stay the fuck home and avoid spreading it around, if it's bad go directly to the hospital where they can't refuse treatment due to inability to pay.

Most people can't afford to visit the doctor and can't afford to stay at home for several weeks.

People at the meat factories and fruit sorting places will work through the disease. Canning plants, fast-food, restaurants, etc. Hell, you'll be seeing public health people sick.

America will be hit worst than most of the west.

In 1918 immigrants had to go through Ellis Island and people were afraid of disease.

Immigrants go through ports of entry now and people are still afraid of disease. Nevertheless, just like in 1918, the vast majority of people will not contract the disease, and the vast majority of those who get this virus will recover.

A lot of people live paycheck to paycheck and can’t afford the deductible let alone an extended hospital stay with insurance. They need that paycheck every two weeks to pay rent and buy food. This is going to be a massive problem here because people will go to work sick, especially the service industry (restaurants, bars, coffee shops, etc).

I am wondering if heat will change things. Right now California is slowly getting hotter and in the next few months is when the weather gets ridiculously hot. April is usually the start of the hot weather, and then it gets hotter. Recently there was a record breaking temperature in the mid 80's. Parts of Los Angeles gets overwhelmingly hot and humid. San Francisco I'm not sure about considering most of it is near the ocean.
It'll either change things, or maybe it won't. I guess time will tell.
Singapore has summer weather right now. So that's likely a no.

Don't go to Savannah, they're gonna get fucked after St Pats
I forgot St Patrick's is a couple of weeks away and all the morons from all over the Tri State are coming in to see who can puke the most on a random green thot passed out on the sidewalk.

De Blasio should cancel it but he won't.

Southern California gets hot. Inland Central CA gets hot. Coastal Central CA doesn't get hot until September/October, and then only for a day or two, or for a few hours until the breeze comes in off the ocean. Same for SF. Get inland from the coast, San Jose will get warm. Much the same in Northern CA - coast stays fairly cool, inland can warm up.

Damn. I was hoping there'd be at least one good thing out of the annoying heat.

Southern California gets so hot that you don't even want to go outside for long. Places like the Inland Empire are at the highest 115 degrees in the Summer.

Question is, will it get hotter than Singapore?

Excuse me for the powerleveling, but I had a doctor's appointment scheduled for mid-March. Today, both my fiance and I got phone calls back-to-back from the doctor's office informing me that my appointment has been moved to June of next year. The woman on the line said my doctor has been unaccounted for and all non-essential appointments were being moved to next year. Got me real fuckin' spooked over here. This is in central California, by the way.

Your doctor's gone? That's some crazy shit. I wonder what happened.

"200 coming through airport have shown potential symptoms of the coronavirus."
These people are under quarantine but welp. I was prepared but I wasn't prepared for this number. I hope it's just them confusing it with a cold or something.
I mean you do get normal colds just by being in the airport, so hopefully in the coming weeks it'll just be fine. Unless they all came back from that lovely 3 week vacation in Italy/China/Iran.

Yes I know you are dumb and think visiting a doctor can do something.
The doctor will agree you are sick and tell you to drink fluids and get rest then send you home.

Nigger that shit is mostly automated and the people who run them aren't going to take the chance of letting sick employees work.

I really would like to know just what magic your teenage self thinks doctors possess.
