In summary, my recommendation is to initiate treatment in the outpatient setting, as soon as possible, in the appropriate patient. It seems to prevent acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and the need for respiratory support."

So it's actually 500 patients in total cured.

Thats not cured. Its a treatment. Its managing the worst part of this and if its true then it goes along long way to helping the hospitals not get overwhelmed but lets be clear. Those patients still have it and still infectious to others, not cured.

I'm allowed to be stupid sometimes, i often try to provide all the news and articles i can find all around and learn from my mistakes. So it's not like i "only flood for giggles" all the times, and learning is also what's nice about Kiwi Farms, because you sure do know everything on everything yourself. I'm not just coming in here calling people names and pointing fingers, i find that to be the easy stupid job.
While your at it...

"Everything we are suggesting just relates to Covid-19. It is not about making [policy] for the future. It is not changing policy except as it applies here."

That is the most blatant fucking lie I have seen since this whole mess began. You have to be absolutely shitting me with this.
The Worst part is that the journo just lets it pass and does not at all call her on that blatant lie.

Feel bad for my sister, a lot of whose study strategies (memorization) won't pay off in the same manner with upcoming (let's face it, open book) online exams.

Here's my question for those who know better: she's got a statistics assignment that's open ended enough that any reasonably comprehensive data set would allow her to demonstrate knowledge of the required skills. Something pertaining to COVID 19 would be pretty cool, could anyone point me in the right direction?
This thread lol

Something interesting could be the Chinese telecoms network. Chinese telecom and mobile app subscriptions have been hemorrhaging since December. Some anti-China outlets are reporting the 21 million drop in phone subscriptions is a sign of the death toll. Personally I don't think we're getting the full story, but it wouldn't take much to rework these numbers into the effect of quarantine and shutdown on homes and businesses.

Other climate irregularities in China proving half of it's country is catching fire or has issues with fresh wind meeting hot wind created from huge chunk of the country on fire :

As much as I would like to see these bat asshole eating soulless bug people struck down, this looks like typical Chinese construction issues to me.

That may not all be used. The $2 trillion will be used to help Americans and American businesses.

Let's keep this in mind.

The US Government pissed away a good $6 trillion, not to mention thousands of Americans dead and wounded, since 9-11 fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. What did we get for that expenditure? Nothing. Nil. Zilch. Zero. Iraq and Afghanistan were shitholes before we came in, and will always be shitholes.

So I have no problem spending what needs to be spent to help Americans get through this. This is a wide-ranging national emergency. At least the money will be going to people who appreciate the help, for a change. And the vast majority of the money provided to Americans will go right into the economy, for food, rent, medicine, gas, etc. Visualize an hourly worker's family bringing home a load of groceries thanks to the stimulus check. Visualize kids with a full plate of food. Trump gets it.

A paraphrased question from World War I comes to mind. "Shall our dollars be more important to us than the welfare of our people?"

The only answer can be "No".

I agree with you, but that would depend on the money being used in this way instead of the, well, Pelosi way. As in, let's throw money at a bunch of irrelevant shit that caters to the interests of a few instead of the real needs of the people.

That's semantics. We don't technically want it cured we want to curtail it's ability to kill at this point. If this is true it's great news. Getting infected with a treatment that stops it from progressing to death or very ill is beneficial as you don't die, develop antibodies, and have now gone through it which should limit you ability to get it again.

Having it, taking the treatment, then sitting around until you double test negative is much better than sitting around waiting in anxiety for it to get you.

That said it's twitter so huge grain of salt. They should roll out this test in Italy. At this point there probably isn't much to lose.

Six Trillion Dollars.

Six.

Trillion.

Dollars.

Man, that money printer really loves giving money to frivolous bullshit.

You know what is better than 6 trillion dollars? 10 Trillion Dollars!

I get the general resentment of boomers, and I understand what it's like to have shitty boomer parents. But when it's tempting to toss them into the dumpster, remember that your kids and grandkids are watching and learning from what you do. To them, these are nana and papa. And if you don't have kids, the young people around you are still looking to you for an example. What we do to the elderly will come back on us later when we are old. If you don't do it for any other reason, do it for yourselves.

How you treat the younger, and how you speak of others, including the elderly, plant the crops that you will reap.

Unfortunately none of us can be 24 hour virtue-dispensing machines. Sometimes you have to cut your losses, to survive yourself. I wouldn't say "dump" people in the trash, but it is important to also not model destructive behavior, that your children will imitate.

Taking abuse weakens your resistence to all kinds of assaults, including pathogenic. It is literally toxic.

One very hard part of this lockdown stuff, is that a lot of people have the misfortune to be locked down with toxic and abusive people. Given that we have no known immunity to this COVID thing, it is very important to look out for number 1, if you have no children. If you have children, safeguard them first.

Among these discussions about crime and COVID, and economics and COVID and your horse's hoof fungus and COVID, what has me very concerned is possible upsurge in domestic violence. If you usually go to Starbucks to get away from dad's hair-trigger outbursts, that coping mechanism is not available at the moment.

If you are in quarantine with challenging individuals, my own personal advice would be investing in noise-cancelling headphones, a recording of static, and find a way to "work on training modules" or some shit. Do not engage. And find an image of something soothing. If people start pushing your buttons, it can literally be a matter of life and death. Not for them. For you.

You have good news, but i have the worst news ever for my country, not only they banned hydroxychloroquine from prescription for generalist medics, but they only allow it if you show SEVERE symptoms and are in critical condition, wich is completely contrary , counter intuitive and counterproductive to the indication of the medecine, it's purpose is to get rid of the viral load BEFORE you get critical, when you are critical you already have lung scars, failures, and not only that but it's probably more dangerous to take it at that stage because you have not enough strenght to fight slight side effects if they appear + fighting for your life !!!

We have a government of sellouts that will give us all as slaves to China, check this horrible thing out :

Ameribros... Please... Save us 😱 We have fucking traitors and horrible persons as leaders... Pweaze O0o !!!

Can you give a bit more context on when/why hydroxychloroquine was banned? Was it at the start of the year when the CCP realized it would need a shit ton of it, and asked for medical aid?

Or was it banned earlier for other reasons. I know france had dealing with africa so it would make sense it would have that kinda medication.

Also on a side note since china makes everything and precursor s for drugs are made there, couldnt china spool up it production for domestic needs like ventilators and medication?

I know it's because I am on Twitter a lot, but it's unbelievable that people are still trying to place the blame on everything but China for this virus and acting like self-righteous assholes. This is affecting people across the globe and many are dying from this. Stupidity can never be contained, I swear.

I can't wait for this to be over, whenever that will be.

Holy fuck, 11,000 new cases today? We will be shooting right through 100,000 into a Million in just a week.

Probably bullshit, but how much truth is there to this? Do we have a thread on this Jiang guy and the internal politics? View attachment 1201878

Jiang Zemin? He was a previous President of China. He took power during Tianiman Square. He was a mixed bag. While he was the dude who rolled the tanks over the protestors. He also spearheaded much of China's embrace of Capitalism and opening to the West and generally had very good relations with the US and the Western world. He loathes Xi, who seemingly seeks to undo and undermine everything Jiang and his immediate successors Hu Jintao and wen Jiabo built. One of Jiang's core reforms was in setting the firm term limit for anyone to serve as Chinese President, in order to prevent cults of personality to form around the Presidency. Xi undid that to proclaim himself emperor for life.

Bullshit, its not semantics. Cured is cured, Managed is managed, and they are nowhere near the same thing.

If your not as clear as you can be with stuff like this you'll have morons who will think "Cured" and will go out and put others at risk just as sure as people will drink fishtank cleaner thinking it'll protect them.
