Their first baby wasn't exactly born with organs on the outside or a shriveled goblin like the hartley's, so it's not unreasonable to think they might have better luck the next time. They seem genuinely invested in their kids and extremely sad about the situation, not pining for attention and asspats like a lot of the parents mentioned in this thread.

She blames it dying on her not living in a "life affirming" state. In reality I know that red states tend to have higher maternal mortality and I'm sure higher infant mortality as well due to being skimpier on healthcare. Whatever her baby had, it was probably completely fucked and was doomed regardless. Another kid with the same condition surviving longer means fuck all since outliers exist with anything. Not to mention as shown with Jaxon and the Hartleys, surviving longer than most kids with the condition often just means a hellish existence of constant seizures and exploitation by their shitty parents instead of any meaningful life.

I'm gonna keep poking around because I'm really curious what her baby had. I kind of get the impression it was something completely fucked up and incompatible with life that anyone who's not an insane fundie would view as completely justified in aborting.

Yeah, I’m calling bull on that comment that this other baby she mentions is "still alive today." From the preliminary digging I did, out of the 1:7500 fetuses that are afflicted by this every year, there’s only 3 in the world that have been known to survive for longer than a day after birth, and the record holder seems to have been 3 months at most. All other claims of surviving longer have 0 evidence of having actually happened. I suppose she can argue about the condition of this hypothetical baby all she wants if she never bothers to follow up on the case...

It’s also interesting to me that she mentions they wouldn’t do a C-section (what the hell did she think that would help?) since I recall that C-sections increase the risk of miscarriages in later pregnancy attempts. Willing to risk losing all future pregnancies in order to "save" one that will literally pop like a balloon full of meat seems a little counterintuitive.

Yeah if theres any truth to the claim a kid survived for an extended period of time (which I highly doubt), i assume its something like a kid with a similar yet less immediately fatal condition. Though she's probably just making it all up.

I think I saw her mention she almost died from a uterine rupture with one of her pregnancies at some point. I'm not sure if it was with inside out baby or a different kid but either way that's probably related to why the doctors didnt want to do a C-section.

Aren't C-sections something you want to avoid if possible anyway, since they have a longer recovery time and more potential complications? I wonder why she was so insistant on having one, especially since it's not like it would've made her baby not something out of the end of Akira.

And yeah I wouldn't be surprised if she does have some skeletons in her closet (beyond forcing a baby to slowly die from severe deformity anyway). Lots of fundies do, like with SJWs they use self righteous to try to distract people from their own demons.

I used to work in a morgue and this kid gave me flashbacks of all the corpses I've seen that were in early stages of decomposition. It doesn't help that the kid looks like it's got an eternal scream of horror going on.

Kid fell in a pool and was without oxygen for God knows how long. His heart was restarted, but he's brain-dead and has the same type of fundie parents most of the other kids have.
But he has teachers come to the home, physical therapy several times a week, and so on.
Parents had another child to harvest for stem cells or some other bullshit that hasn't worked. And Preston has the same look on his face as the others, wide open dead eyes and a slack jaw.
Mom still insists Christ will heal him.

Personally, I think it's wrong that anyone tries to keep these kids alive. I know it's an emotional thing to give up life that you created, but there's a point where you have to admit that they're not really living, they're just existing. What's good about keeping a kid alive when they can't feel pleasure or pain and don't know who/where they are? Hypothetically, let's say someone keeps one of these kids alive long enough that they outlive their parents. Who takes care of the kid then? Someone in the family (or a friend of the family, perhaps) is then obligated to look after a "person" who isn't even aware that it's happening until it dies.

So she doesn't believe trained medical professionals because her baby's defect looked different than what she expected. She probably would have been one of those mothers who insists her horribly deformed child is just like other kids.

Just because another baby survived doesn't guarantee any sort of quality of life. Your kid is not a miracle for living an agonizing life of pain that never had to be.

The more she reveals about her experience giving birth, the more I’m inclined to believe that most of her problems stemmed from being completely incapable of understanding potential future consequences and pushing for whatever she wants now now now. I think she's also using those evil, baby killing pro-choicers as a target to blame for all her fucked up adventures in breeding.
