This better mean 'be sensible and keep a safe distance from strangers in Tesco when you get your bread when restrictions are lifted' and not full lockdown until next year.

The economy can't handle it and people sure as hell can't. I'm starting to lose my fucking mind with cabin fever and I (at least for now) have a job I can do from home with money coming in. I can't even imagine what state a lot of the people that have been left jobless by this are in and how many of them there are.

One of them is completely incompetent at making an argument, and the other one thinks we have a magic money tree or a time machine that will allow us to put things back like they were pre corona. I’m surprised about the amount of people who criticize the people wanting to go back to work? Is it a fear of death for people or is it something more sinister?

They are mindless puppets who've been wound up by the media and pointed in that direction.
Back in January the same people cared about whatever the main news meme was, and strongly held the socially correct opinions about that also. The media (old and new) has spent a couple of months getting them concerned about this world ending pestilence that will kill us all unless you do what you're told, and REMAIN INDOORS.
It can also be defeated by TikTok dances , staying 200cm apart (or 182cm apart in the USA), and having children draw rainbows.

So, yeah. People are social creatures, and thinking outside the generally held beliefs is remarkably rare.
