Imagine failing so hard at lynching someone that you get shot to death instead.Looks like a protestor got shot in Albuquerque at a statue demonstration. I'd recommend turning down the volume due to screeching women. Looks like the guy has been taken into custody, but will presumably claim self-defense due to the mob attacking him.

**GRAPHIC** Antifa attack the wrong guy and get shot (CRAZY ANGLE) - Black Lives Matter
You can see at 5 or 6 seconds in, the antifa guy on the right of the screen grabbing for the gun and he and blue t-shirt guy swinging around in the struggle ...www.youtube.com
We're so used to seeing this kind of language being code for "Fuck whitey!" that we react the same way when it's meant earnestly. This is your brain on mainstream media. Life is complicated and nuanced.
Being a good Christian and praying for those suffering and in pain represents Vice President Pence "ready to throw his base under at any time"... right. None of what he said in that tweet is wrong; was he supposed to call them niggers and pray for God and Jesus to tag team those left behind with lightning bolts and locusts? What exactly is your problem with this tweet?
Being willing to listen to public health professionals and open up needle clinics in order to stop the rampant spread of AIDS in his state was Vice President Pence being a good governor. Despite stating a policy decision (no needle exchanges), the health community advised him to go against his position. And after thought and prayer, that is exactly what he did. And he stopped a terrible disease from running wild. I would expect any good leader to do the same because the job is about more than just those that voted for you. If there is sin to bear in making such a decision, that is for God to decide and Mike Pence will be judged for it in due time. But I think he'll still be allowed in.

The generation that had Paw Patrol taken from them is going to be even more savage.
Why wouldn't you pull out of steam when they started front-paging sus anime spank games. The line is clearly a completely unrelated to games political opinion

We don't? Sorry, I was confused because of all the "kill whitey" sentiment that's been mainstream since 2008.View attachment 1381910

Even if we make the generous assumption that there are no procedural or interpretive shortcomings or alternatives in the article, the argument this gives is only as far as "your white criminal population is sentenced less than my black criminal population when it comes to crimes that are similar". I mean who the fuck cares to make that argument or base a political party on that? The simple solution is don't do crime in the first place, and you won't have the disparity.I gave the paper a quick read, and one thing that jumped out at me was that they make a big deal out of the fact that black defendants are more likely to be charged with offenses that carry mandatory minimums given the same arrest data. There are a couple non-racist explanations for that which they don't really address. The most obvious is that it's possible that the arrest data isn't granular enough, and black defendants are more likely to commit offenses at the higher end of the spectrum than white defendants, resulting in the DA assessing a more serious charge. The second they point out themselves by stating that "the initial charge is usually the final charge, in part because Department of Justice policy discourages subsequent 'charge bargaining.'" If the DA can't charge bargain, they have to predict in advance what sort of plea bargain the defendant would be willing to take, which means taking into account their quality of legal representation, financial resources, and ability to get bail pending trial.
Say you have an indigent black defendant with a public defender and a rich white defendant with a high-powered legal team, and you want to keep your win rate up, who are you going to avoid charging with an offense carrying a mandatory minimum? They specifically don't account for type of counsel due to lack of data.
It reminds me of the wage gap controversy, with that "70 cents on the dollar" talking point that was total BS. Account for education, experience, overtime, etc. and it turns into a <5% difference that's likely explained by men being more willing to deal with long commutes and shitty bosses for a few extra bucks. As the number of variables taken into account increases, the amount it's possible to attribute to discrimination approaches zero, just like with sentencing disparities.
These people are actively creating these scenarios with their identity politics. Quite a bit of Twitter is genuinely racist against white people and some of those users would have no problem ruining someone’s life if they’re white. Of course, if you call them out on their own racism, you’re blocked or banned.View attachment 1381910
