Herschel "Guy" Beahm, who goes by the streamer name Dr. Disrespect, is no longer on Twitch.

The circumstances of Beahm's removal from the service aren't clear at this time. His page on the Amazon-owned video streaming website is currently shut down, with a message reading "that content is unavailable."

A statement provided to Mashable on Saturday by a Twitch spokesperson suggests that Beahm violated one or more community guidelines. But it isn't clear what exactly happened, or whether the removal is being characterized as a suspension or a ban.

"As is our process, we take appropriate action when we have evidence that a streamer has acted in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service. These apply to all streamers regardless of status or prominence in the community," Twitch's statement reads.

You can find the site's community guidelines right here.

There's at least some suggestion that Beahm won't returning to Twitch, and that his removal from the platform isn't related to a recent string of copyright takedown notices that other streamers have received. Rod "Slasher" Breslau, a well-known esports consultant who is plugged into the streaming community, noted as much on Twitter. (I've heard the same regarding a ban, for whatever it's worth.)

In a subsequent tweet, Breslau mentioned that Beahm's paying subscribers on Twitch received refunds. His Discord partnership also appears to be finished.

Footage saved from Beahm's final stream only adds to the mystery. His chatter is unfocused all throughout the nine-minute clip, and in the final few moments he actually seems genuinely distressed by something happening off camera. You can see him look around quickly and hunch over as he shouts "Fuck!" before cutting the stream.

Beahm has had his share of troubles in the past. In 2019, he was kicked out of the annual E3 trade show and temporarily banned from Twitch after streaming from inside one of the bathrooms at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The year before that, he drew criticism for delivering racist caricatures of a Chinese accent on his streams.

It hasn't all unfolded on Twitch, either. In late 2017, Beahm went on a hiatusafter publicly admitting that he'd been unfaithful to his wife.

The word of Beahm being hit with a ban now is especially surprising coming just a few months after he signed a multi-year deal with Twitch. That deal was signed in March, meaning Twitch knew very well already who they were dealing with (and what his history is).

Beahm's agents at Creative Artists Agency haven't replied to an email from Mashable looking for more info at the time of this writing. But we'll update this story as more information surfaces.

Smells really fishy, I can't help but wonder if he's been purged for political wrongthink.
How? He recently just raised $50k for the DNC BLM group. He could probably buy a few passes for saying nigger a few times with that kind of money.

Personally, I'm betting it's some twitch thot he cheated on his wife with that got pregnant and Dr paid her off not to talk or something, and is now wanting to talk and twitch/discord/that-company-that-makes-his-shitty-toy probably don't want any flak.
Because anything actually illegal would have the feds at his door.

I don't watch the guy, but after seeing tons of posts about it, I watched the last 10 mins of his last video. It does seem weird. At one point he looks at what seems to be his cellphone and looks like he is trying not to break into tears.

I don't know, it seems strange. I've also seen people confusing the bullshit story of him raping a 12 year old with that other streamer.

He just made his first statement on the ban a couple minutes ago:

thanks for uploading video.

is nobody going to mention he namedrops David Icke at 2:50?
I was watching that documentary on, uh- what’s this guy. Uh, Icke. Icke. I-c-k-e. Older gentleman. Anybody know who I’m talking about? I forgot his first name. David Icke, yes. Alis [?], yes. I like him. Even if like, it’s, eh, it just kind of like, ya know. [mind expanding hand motion] Rather than this. [head boxed in hand motion]. It’s on Netflix. I believe it’s on Netflix... It’s pretty enlighting. Also allows you to, allows you to step outside of the box. Just a little bit. Whether some of the stuff is not true or not, whatever. I think the whole goal though is… to WAKE UP!!
edit- also at 7:20. he signs off talking about it.
David Icke. I ordered his book too. Um. I appreciate everyone watching today. We’ll get through this champion’s club. Life’s weird right now. I- We’ll- We’ll get through this, and uh- fuck.
he does seem very agitated, though I don't know this guy and he may just be on coke or something.

Slasher went onto the trainwrecks scuffed podcast and said that twitch's legal team handled the banning, NOT the terms and services team.

Biggest rumours going around now are he did something very illegal, or he signed a contract with a new streaming platform and is now breaking his current one with twitch.

He's either a legit conspiracy nut and it bleeds into his character, or he's just playing a character that's a conspiracy nut; I'm not really sure which is the case. So the Icke mention isn't really out of left field. The "Doc" character is always at least a little manic, so the agitation is pretty "on-brand", as it were, though there were some oddities.

I think the first indication something was up happened right before that, at around 1:45. He seemed like he was going back and forth between acting like everything was normal or breaking down and crying, then ends the stream when he can't keep it up anymore.

For a guy this big, and with this little information about it, I really don't think it's cancel culture. If Twitch caved to cancel culture, they'd be loudly braying about it to get their credit from the mob. The whole essence of cancel culture is public and performative.

I think this is something big, and legally involved, and the only reason we're not hearing anything about it is because there's some legal reason Twitch can't talk about it. Dude diddled a kid or laundered money through the Twitch platform or some shit like that.

If it was the latter, then where would he go? Mixer is shutting down next month, and Facebook streaming will pretty much kill off your viewership. I'm not sure how well YouTube streaming is, but given how Blizzard signed an exclusive deal with them this year, and viewership for their games plummeted, I'd say it's not much better either.
