Victor Mignogna v. Funimation Productions, LLC, et al. (2019) - Vic's lawsuit against Funimation, VAs, and others, for over a million dollars.

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
So with the defendants having 20 days to file whatever they will (asking for an extension or their sur-replies themselves), I'm guessing we'll see some new filings by Thursday? Assuming they can be arsed to keep to a deadline of course.

Okay so is the lawsuit finally going to slow down? Ignore Ron being Ron off to the side, much like Monica's bull every night.

By the nature of the appeals court, yes.
Corona-Chan pretty much froze the drama for the moment as well, but don't be deceived into thinking this entire thing be over anytime soon.

There isn't really a deadline as such. The last reply specifically permitted by the rules was what Vic just submitted. They could also file a motion to strike or whatever if they think Vic is over word limits. I would bet on a motion letting them know they are working on a reply. The court has been operating on the accelerated schedule even though, so far as I know, nobody has filed a single document on time.

There isn't really "on time" for optional filings other than get them in before the court moves forward.

Then they'll set a date for oral arguments (probably) and make a decision. Unlike a state Supreme Court, they'll generally write an opinion justifying the decision, whatever it is. It's the one appeal you have as of right, rather than at the discretion of a court of last resort (for some reason Texas has separate courts of last resort for criminal and civil cases) Because Texas.

@AnOminous ah my bad, I thought they had 20 days to file those, so I was expecting either the document itself or them asking for more time. Thanks for clearing that up!

as far as my experience of court matters goes, this is relatively normal.

I'm expecting a motion for more time. Unless they completely forget they're filing again. So if Volney or Johnson are filing we'll see that, and if MoRon are, we can expect a colossal fuckup of some sort.

Just wait. Once MoRon file again, Ron Toye will pop up again like a canker-sore in a person's mouth and gloat about how their response will mark the end for Vic. Then we look at said document and our common response will be: "What the fuck is this?"

If the coof continues to fuck things over for a while, and they do any sort of remote court hearings online I'll die happy because I wanna see the MoRon chimpout when they either get everything thrown back at them or they get told no more money or both

Unfortunately for us his ego won't let him succumb to self-medication via alcoholism. Here's hoping the appeals judgment shreds it for us!
