Looks like PULL has finally made the decision to close down their website forever.

Retaining the domain even after you are closing shop because you don't want anyone to use it... Sounds like a bitch made move.

‘Splinter sites haven’t worked’ is a strange part of this. Splinter sites usually only “work” when the original site has an heroed, or a community on a website has gotten so large it needs its own home (see: Kiwi Farms itself.)

Usually people will stick with a website unless it’s so cancerous that the newer one is the only feasible option. Even then, there are usually more than one splinter site at first, then the superior one comes out on top and becomes the replacement, albeit always with less members than the original (at least initially.) Isn’t PULL a sister/spawn of Lolcow anyway?

Facebook, Twitter and Reddit are dumpster fires.

I doubt it. Sounds like the guy was having the same issues as Null. (Namely lots of work, no pay off, no one wanting to deal with the back end stuff.)

Fair enough. Reddit has been a dumpster fire for a long time. I still remember someone going through a power mods post and found out he was offering HRT to teens whose parents wouldn't provide it. Even offering a place to do it if they live in the same place.
