Not to get too off topic but the whole thing is a back and forth. I do believe we dropped the nukes as a show of power and scare the Soviets. But the Japs were willing to surrender once the Soviets took back Manchuria. Also, the Japs were planning on using the Plague on us and spread it in California.

At any rate, I think it was the right call to make and you can chalk it up to epic Karma for Japan's wartime atrocities.
Yeah...no. Japanese propaganda and Imperial worship made it so the Japanese people would rather jump off cliffs rather than be occupied by Americans. Not to mention how the Japanese military was deeply divided on just about everything. While one faction might have wanted peace, the other would have undoubtedly fought to the bloody end had they not experienced the tragedy and true dread of nuclear war. We also didn't need a rape of Berlin 2 electric boogaloo by the Russians in Korea and mainland Japan.

She managed decent numbers the first week out when it was listed #6 on Publishers Weekly, then sales dropped like a stone.
Just goes to show how weak the conversion from exposure on youtube is. She has a pretty big viewership, her book was staned by other youtubers, shilling for friends as it usually goes in woke nepotism central. That would mean a few million people betweenn all of them combined as prospective audience and yet she only converted it to a few thousand units sold.

Most people are willing to listen to 10 minutes of free ramblings once a week, that doesn't mean they'll value youtube personalities enough to give a shit for what they do outside of youtube or spend money on them

Since we're talking about her book here:

The back story to this tweet is that back at Hiroshima&Nagasaki nuking anniversary Shaun got triggered to no end by discovering that there are people who disagree with him think that dropping nukes on Japan was justified. So after several whiny tweets he apparently decided to do a video on it and this is his reading for it
Hint: one of these is not like the others
Beside the obvious outlier in the reading material, I'm surprised he didn't include Arata Osada's Children of the A-bomb. It's a collection of recollections of Japanese citizens who survived the bomb dropping, including many people who were children at the time. Given that lived experiences are considered more valid than objective facts right now by the wokish, it's a bit of an notable oversight. Gonna have to genuflect before the shrine of St. Foucault and atone for that one, Shaun.

Nuking Japan paved way for the Cold War and every subsequent war over the threat of nuclear proliferation, including the Iraq War in search of WMDS. Couldn't the US have nuked an island near Japan as a warning shot and sent a message that the next target would be a populated area? Alerting Japan might have made it harder to drop further nukes over Japanese airspace, but the fear of being nuked might have led to surrender. There wouldn't be a Rape of Don King if we had dealt with the rapists instead of forming a temporary alliance. Had we nipped the commies in the bud, Russia would be making video games for us instead of threatening to initiate WWIII.

A Cold war is better than WW3. Hitting third world shitholes looking for WMD's with a stick is preferable to WW3. Peace is always preferable to war because the cost of war never justifies what you gain. In the absence of peace, wars that end quickly are a better alternative to two super powers duking it out for years (the Iraq war was very quick, the mistake was staying in the region after the fact). Going back to 1945, it simply would not have been smart to drag a broke and exhausted europe ,with an thoroughly exhausted american home-front, into conflict with a very motivated, experienced and, at the time, modernized Russian army. Would the allies have won over the Comintern? Almost certainly, but the cost of such victory would have been 10's if not 100's of millions of lives.

As for Japan itself, they were (and for a surprising number of the Japanese population are) fanatically loyal to the emperor of Japan who at this point was very much being led by the hand by the military. The Japanese military itself at this time was deeply divided between those who wanted peace and those who wanted to duke it out to the bitter end. I don't really know why your talking about the rape of Nanking, We didn't have nukes when that was happening and most Americans also had no clue it was occurring or did occur until decades after the fact. Not to mention that America had a strong isolationist policy after WW1 and saw little reason to get involved in an Asian war as the major economic setback of the great depression were still ongoing.

Going to the use of nukes itself. It really goes two ways here, we warn Japan and the emperor never hears it because the warhawks make sure the message never reaches him. Or it reaches him and he has to make a choice of which advisors to listen to. You simply don't have great odds of the emperor surrendering regardless from the threat alone since nuclear devastation was just not something that could be conceptualized at the time and the Japanese will be on high alert to shoot the bomber down risking the entire operation. Warning them effectively makes little sense and hurts the overall goal of peace more than it helps.

By doing it without warning, The message is sent and Japan is pretty much forced to peace as they see what utter devastation awaits them if they don't. Its cold hard logic that has a lot of people die, but it gets the job done and prevents even more people dying than necessary.

I'm disappointed she didn't sum up the Omegaverse the way it actually is: Teenagers and young adult women that get their jollies off on beastiality but are to cowardly to pull the trigger and have an animal fuck the MC.
I don’t think most of the Omegaverse people are actually into beastiality. At most, I’d say that they have a secret desire of submitting to and getting smashed the one deemed to be the alpha.

The only people I know into omegaverse shit are gays with a submission kink- it has a really heavy incidence of overlap with puppy play.
