ValiDate - an upcoming (and unsurprisingly racist) visual novel made by SJW's, for SJW's. Currently MIA.

But the average black woman doesn't appear to be represented well. It's a cast of genderspecials and petri dish experiments in geneology. Where is Shawanda from around the way? The most average POC we get here is Malik. Who, by what we can tell so far is the best character whether that was intended or not.

I am probably going to end up giving this bitch my money just for the lulz alone. Only so she can create more like this so I can enjoy it ironically.

Dani is delusional. ValiDate is not going to be talked about for decades to come. It's not gonna break any molds. It is your run of the mill standard tumblresque VN. It just got lucky enough to get a lot of attention. Has Dani ever been to ichi.o? There are tons of woke VNs on there already. It's because VNs are easier to do than many other genres. Using Ren'py to make your genderqueer POC OCs come to life is nothing new, interesting or groundbreaking. Not unless the game really stands out. And I doubt ValiDate is going to shake the player to the core. Most western VN devs live on a diet of their own farts. And Dani is no exception.

If it wasn't for the fact that developers are complaining on Twitter this game would've fallen into obscurity. The only things I've heard about the game is from the drama itself and the devs constantly promoting how PC it is. Nothing about the game is enticing enough to stand on its own merits so it's just boring waiting until new info comes out.

I mentioned it beforehand but equality of opportunity does not mean equality of outcome. You are not owed success and if you want your game to be successful you have to work to make a satisfying product. And from what others have seen, the devs like complaining more about their game not doing well instead of.... ACTUALLY making a game that WILL sell well.

How is that a meme? It's a screencap with their shit characters one layer 2.

It's a Tumblr meme. The place is so sanitized of actual humor that low level memes are funny.

I thought he was gay. I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere earlier in the thread that he was.

Considering everyone gets paired with everyone, it seems fucking stupid to not have them all be bi, but everything has suggested they're fucking stupid so far, why change now, right?
I think characters that aren't into eachother simply become friends (or enemies) in their respective routes.

Queer Fandom Twitter thinks tumblr posts are hilarious, probably because they know Tumblrite humor won't offend any one of their pet minorities. I routinely see threads full of screenshots of Tumblr posts, or Tumblr posts with fictional characters pasted in because the post is literally them.

I've never understood why twitter/tumblr artists are obsessed with making "mixed" characters that just look black. I don't see a point in saying "this character is part this and part that" if you're not going to reflect it in their design at all, especially when they tend to get so pissy if anyone mistakes their character's ethnicity. I always suspected it was just a black fetish mixed with trying to cram as many woke points into one character as possible, but I don't know.

Having black ancestry in any significant amount seems to override any other DNA that might be mixed in there - just look at tennis player Naomi Osaka (half black half Japanese) who’s now promoting BLM and calling herself black while completely ignoring her Japanese side, despite Japan being the country she represents.

It's still Bisexual Awareness Day and... UGH!!
