Jerry Peet / Lily Orchard / Lily Peet / Valkyrstudios / Bhaalspawn / Tara Callie / "Mod Ebara" - Sociopath writer of pedophile fanfiction and cartoon reviews, faked getting raped to force a divorce, then mobbed and gaslit their ex off Tumblr, satanist neoliberal of the MovieSlob variety, also wants to fuck dogs and/or pokemon

To Lily Orchard Ben Solo is, like all the characters she hates, like all the characters she hates that get dedemption arcs, something that flies in the face of her beliefs; The belief that if you do something morally reprehensible you do not deserve a second chance. Ben Solo, Starlight Glimmer, etc etc etcs. All these characters did bad shit and inspite of that people around them saw the good in them and felt them deserving of a second chance and lily can not stand it Thats the whole thing.

Didn't he also bitch that a bunch of villains weren't redeemed and got turned to stone at the end of MLP? So really if he wants a reason to complain about a show he'll find one, or make one up.

so you're saying that you have the mentality of a 12 year old writing fanfic, makes sense glad that you agree

if they don't bother you, why whenever it is accused of this do you make a whole superficial text defending yourself as there is no way that any of your characters are Mary Sues?

It'd be more respectable if he'd just own it. Plenty of people would say "Yeah I'm writing wish fulfillment trash, so what?" Like, yeah okay. Can't really argue with that.

As a reminder, Lily thinks homework is a form of abuse. Having to do boring things with your parents? A form of abuse. Your dad being able to open your door whenever he wants? Abuse. People not giving her constant attention and sometimes prioritizing themselves? Abuse.

So basically he's saying he had to go shopping with his mom all day as a kid and she told him to shut up when he got bitchy about it. So normal child behavior. But yeah tell a bunch of impressionable kids with no taste that their parents telling them to finish their peas or take out the garbage are abusing them.

Meanwhile, a world where everybody agrees with Mary Sue and she's always right and she never struggles just isn't an interesting story, period. And this isn't to say you can't have a hyper-competent extremely powerful character, but never introducing anything that makes them struggle -- whether it's a physical enemy or their existential boredom or having everybody around them just be fed up with their shit so they have adversity to bounce off of -- means that you're just watching somebody else's power fantasy play out.
Take Superman as an example, since he's the go to character to make dumb defenses for Sues. He's pretty fucking powerful, but you know what? Even in his most ridiculous stories (back when he could sneeze out galaxies), they still put him in situations where he struggles. Either by putting him against an enemy of equal or greater power, or a conflict of ideology.

'What's so funny about truth, justice and the american way?' has Superman go up against foes that, despite their confidence, are far outstripped by Superman. Superman's struggle isn't in beating them physically, it's in proving to the world that their way of dispensing justice, where they use their great power to circumvent the law and kill all who they deem guilty with no oversight, is ugly and frightening. He questions his own stance on his no-kill rule multiple times, even having the public look at him as naive and old fashioned and children saying how cool it is to kill the bad guys. He can win a fight, throw a punch, but that doesn't make people see the worth in his values. And so, he has to think up the strategy of pretending to go all out and murder his opposition in front of the world to make them see how much they don't want a Superman murdering people left and right.

Lilly doesn't take hyper competent characters and put them against other hyper competent characters, or put them in a situation where their skills don't matter nor have an event that causes them to question their own ideas and find the strength to reinforce them. No. They walk down a straight path, no diversions, no hold ups, no stumbles; just a moment or two of whining that the path is five hours too long.

To be fair, Lurk and I would have to stop first considering that's not what the thread is about lol. But regardless, the phrase "rent free" exists for a reason.
Bit late, sorry.

You two aren't really a problem, and given that it's still related to Lily's bad takes on things I don't think conversations about Steven Universe are unwarranted at all. You wouldn't have to bring ti up if Lily didn't keep doing so, after all.

What I'm referring to is the fact that, after her 'SU is Garbage' video, she made a statement saying that it was her last word on SU, she'd spent more than enough time on it and making the video, she was done talking about it. Super done. Totally done. She even had a mandate in her Discord that discussion of Steven Universe would bring down the banhammer.

Then she kept on talking about it and when somebody called her out she said "Well you guys keep asking am I supposed to do what I said I would do and stop?" So not only did she not shut up, she blamed her fans for her not shutting up.

If those five hours were Christmas shopping the path would also be abusive.

Other thing is, these characters also aren't hyper-competent. Maybe the narrative tries to say they are, but generally speaking an audience is going to notice that the world twists to serve their needs. They'll be commended for being so smart or funny or sassy, for being so clever or powerful, but the audience is going to recognize that they only succeeded because their opponents were even more incompetent, or they won because the universe just twisted in their direction.

There are plenty of hyper-competent characters out there who do resolve their conflicts 'easily' (mostly I'm thinking of the Great Detectives, but yeah, characters like Superman also count), but again, it's in how they resolve those conflicts. Watching somebody who is legitimately excellent at what they do is a thrill-- it's why Holmes works, it's why Ender's Game is exciting, it's why Westley/The Dread Pirate Roberts can get away with outmaneuvering everybody in that story even when mostly dead. A legitimately hyper-competent character is a joy to watch.

Mary -- or her brother Gary -- isn't a joy to watch because the world has to accommodate them and then validate them to convince the audience that they really are the best. When opposition finally catches up to her it's not because Mary was actually too weak, it's because the universe suddenly decided that she needed a third-act nadir and contrived to make that happen, too. This is exactly how The Sith Resurgence is playing out-- Aliana is 'hyper-competent' only because every other character is made worthless, and then manages to get nearly killed by the unskilled and useless Kylo Ren for a cheap dramatic beat that feels as contrived as everything else and makes Aliana look beyond incompetent.

And of course it doesn't even translate as 'Kylo has become a threat' because he's still treated like a little bitch who's only alive because Rey didn't explode his head immediately (which makes Rey look like an idiot because really, she should've been able to kill him in that fight pretty much immediately and not have to choose between vengeance or Aliana at all), so it's just this one off insance of the universe warping to serve the needs of the narrative because Lily, for how terrible a writer she is, knows that there are certain beats that should still be hit and just kind of... makes them happen, whether they make sense or not.

aint claiming to be no child expert here but lily has a slight point, just a highly misguided onw.
yes dragging your kids shopping can be hell but there's plenty of ways to make the trip more engaging for the child, aserll as it being a learning experience.

Give them a little list of items to retrieve. can of peas, some napkins, maybe some loo roll. not only will this be a fun little game for the child but it will also get them to not complain as much. children need something to do. cannot expect a child just to stand around for maybe an hour at best doing nothing. they need engagement. this also helps learn them that sometimes you have to do things you may not find funj. and also some skills on how to get around a shop properly, especially maybe bigger ones like walmart. For good behaviour reward them at the end with a bag of haribos or whatever cheap/ thing the child likes.
Might aswell use anytime you can as a learning experience for a child in cases like this. wats one hour of being dragged around a shop doing nothing when that could be turned into a fun activity?

Chores is also vital from a young age. obviously i'm not asking for 5 year olds to prepare meals for the family. age apropriate is vital. this bit would take to long but i'll keep it relevent to lily;
As a kid its good to have a chore+reward system. maybe 'if you do 5 chores a day you get a reward like extra pudding or money. younger the child less tasking the chores are like maybe just bring your dirty dishes to the sink after eating or put your toys away in the box. and when older like a teen, wash your own clothes, wash the car, take the dog for a walk. and so on.

Just teaches kids discipline, time management, doing chorse is a necissary way of life but try and make it fun somehow, and also, children thrive off routine. They dont like when a routine may be broken, especially autistic children/children with Asperger's. tbh. The reason why we have so many adults who dont know how to cook or change a lightbulb or any other basic adulting things is because lack of good, adequate parenting.

god forbid lily has a child, as they'll grow up needy as all hell and reliant on lily until she dies at 100 according to her.

Hummm ... I would need to see your sources to conclude that this is "a big problem with the fandom"

because it looks more like people are liking and relating to different characters than you are, and because of their skin color you want to make this a race issue

and the Blights are relevant to the plot, nobody is defending them they are only interested in the story of them

Lily has to stop endorsing that kind of train of thought, anything that bothers them at all is about discrimination and abuse

This is the same mongoloid who thought cartoon space rocks taking down a fascist regime (and even calling it that was a stretch) made the creators fascists because the "fascists" weren't murdered and were shown to have actual emotions and personality. Don't give her more credit than she deserves.

I think ginger may have onset alcoholism. She isn’t even 21 but shes sent Lilly drunk messages multiple times. Maybe she’s Irish?
She's definitely not since she has an American accent. She is in college though and its pretty common for art students to get drunk/high almost every night, I'm speaking from experience. The part that's tricky about this is Lily blames Lizzy for being abusive because Lizzy apparently had a drinking problem, so if one thing goes wrong with ginger lily might start doing it to her too.

if I recall ther primary complaint with the end of mlp was that one character got married to weird Al's self insert, two were out and out stated to be living together. and otherwise no ships were confirmed. So the vocalised complaint was it was too heterosexual

I'm really confused by how much Lily talks about inclusiveness, decency and growth when:

* already assumes the person's sexuality and race by his opinion and judges his character based on it

* calls someone a rapist based on nothing but spite

* believe if you have "male" and "white" in you, no matter any other characteristic, you are actually privileged and pretending not to be

* says that any failure or accusation of hers is a conspiracy of the Right-wing, but when someone complains of injustice "are making such desperate fucking attempts to avoid growth."

for those who still had doubts that Lily only uses her "policies" to have a lot of excuses and demands that exclude other points of view, genders, races and discard other people's opinions and experiences
Lily only talks about paranoias and conspiracies to validate her conclusions and only comments on the safest topics possible to avoid real engagement and accountability

Now see, if I recall those are background characters. In other words, it doesn't count and the writers are cowards and...uh, fascists? Yeah, fascists.
Honestly it gets so fucking tiresome when a group that makes up about 4-5% of the population endlessly demand more and more representation in media. Even worse when it's a group that's less than 1%, like troons. The entitlement is fucking insufferable with these people.
Not to mention isn't demanding a kid's show have LGBTUVWXYZ representation kinda asinine? It's a fucking kid's show, they don't need to be nor should they be the mouthpiece of social issues.

I don't really have a problem with LGBT rep in cartoons as long as it's a part of the character and not all they're about (or if it derails a story). Shipping in general needs to be handled delicately otherwise you get shows like Star VS where they were writing as they went along and it was just all over the fucking place. This one girl becomes bi and paired up with a brown French girl and the MC and male protag get together instead. Said protag had much better chemistry with the bi girl and it showed.

Not really. Most children's stories are written to deliver moral lessons while being entertaining. Hell, a good chunk of storytelling in general is written to deliver moral lessons through the story.
An episode about gay people in a childrens cartoon isn't any more asinine than an episode about any other issue.

It's not that I have a problem with the show's creators choosing to include it. But DEMANDING it and judging a show by it's inclusion or absence is entitled and petulant as fuck.

While that may be true sometimes, it's not always true by default. I can get including gay characters to teach about tolerance, but Jerry and faggots like him seem to think there should just be gay people represented in everything at all times just because they're fucking gay. And with Jerry specifically I can almost guarantee you that even if they did a blatant gay wedding would quickly screech "BUT WHAT ABOUT LESBIANS?!" and still shit on the show for not representing the object of his obsession.

I'm sure I said this before, but it's curious how Lily has never once mentioned Mr. Ratburn's wedding, probably the most infamous example of LGBT in children's media. I guess it doesn't count because it's the "G" part of LGBT, the only part Lily can't jack off to.
