Thinking about it further, seeing that they're teens, what if their end goal is making a project of Chris for school, like Sachumo?
 
After reading chapters of Dead Tube, I've been thinking "what if Praetor is creating a hunting video and Chris is their prey?"
When he signed the contract, Chris did not know what he agreed to other than he'll recieve a permanent place for Barb, cash, and alone time with a woman of his choice.

The crew prepared tools like hatchets, machetes, and chainsaws. Chris thinks those are just props for the film.

Days later, the Praetor crew and Chris went to the woods and set camp, some scattered everywhere to hang cameras in the trees.

Later at night, the crew set up meals and drinks, one of them put a sedative at Chris's. Chris told them he's going to the tent early. Because he trust them so much, it won't be for long.
