This has to be a god damn joke. She literally does this to Sylvanas. Either she's fully admitting she skews Sylvanas' character because she wants to fuck her or she's some how so disillusioned to think that she doesn't do this exact fucking thing.
Lily has no grasp of nuance. I'll bring up the gay space rocks show again since they were fleshing out the characters and not "scrubbing away their wrongdoings" but I don't think she really understands why she's wrong to think this is "bad writing".

Lily seems to defend her because she relates to what she went through, and blames Blizzard for misogyny in writing her as a villaina

but this is the real reason
1603139468374.png

1603139517142.png

Sylvanas is a character who was killed and forced to serve the Lich King, was depressed because she was not the one who killed him and killed herself and on her death she made a pact to have power and come back to life in exchange for serving the Jailer

the more people die the stronger they become absorbing their souls, and only became leader of Horde by deception and not by merit, just to organize several battles to kill both their enemies and their allies, even using chemical weapons to cause the greatest number of deaths possible for her to become powerful

she didn't care about any cause or ideology or her people, she became a power-hungry selfish dictator
she is even responsible for the genocide of the night elves, The burning the Teldrassil knowing that only innocents / civilians remained in there. She even made shamans empower the flames to make sure that those people all die, she didn’t want to destroy the tree, she wanted to destroy the race. Just to minimize the chance of getting attacked by the night elves in the future
and she was not punished for that

but Lily projects herself as much as all of her characters she defends and denies, and since Sylvanas is not her OC, she says it is bad writing and misogyny to write her like this

http://archive.md/SZA3A
1603140404643.png

Lily is quick to say that anyone who likes Kylo Ren is an incel facist abuser, but continues to applaud someone who has done atrocities for reasons that no one can defend (at least Kylo has an argument, Sylvanas is just spite)

Lily has a tendency to blame her own characters that she writes for their actions, even if they are out of character, with "this is a side that fans don't want to see because it goes against their expectations" but she doesn't apply that mentality when others write about her waifus.
writing Luke, Leia, Poe, Finn and Kylo in the most insulting way possible is ok, but Sylvanas and Rey have to be protected

In fairness, Lily isn't necessarily wrong. I think a lot of 'not so bad' discourse these days is more about how people over-identify with characters because they sympathize with them and thus wind up using them as a way of basically explaining themselves and their own flaws, elevating the character in order to make themselves feel better.... but a lot of discourse about redemption also comes down to the villain being hot.

And of course, some people do both.

Like Lily and her fixation on Sylvanas, a character she had indirectly admitted she completely identifies with and therefore gives Sylvanas all of her own perceived traits in order to validate herself.

Her point in this response is, as any time she has something approaching a truthful statement, over-simplified and dismissive, but not necessarily wrong. The hypocrisy, however, is hilarious.

I'm aware its not wrong, in fact its quite obviously correct and I think anyone could come to such a simple conclusion. The problem is I genuinely have no clue if she's admitting to doing the exact same thing or not. Because she is but her answers are so short and vague I can never read deep enough into them and that's the genuinely infuriating part. It would've been so easy for her to have just said 'yeah like in my Anevay fic.' but the fact that she doesn't say that makes me genuinely believe she doesn't (at the very least) acknowledge what she's saying is extremely hypocritical.

This is a problem I have with a lot of the questions Lily answers, she answers them super vaguely so you can never be quite sure what she actually means so that when she gets questioned she can turn around and yell at people for reading too much into her answers. It's literally an abuse tactic and the fact that she does it to anyone on her tumblr is a giant red flag and it makes me really angry.

Hypocrites never acknowledge their hypocrisy. This is less out of malice and more that they've done the mental gymnastics and justification to say that, well, in their circumstances it's different. This is part of Lily's modus, where she can make a generalized statement and then pivot to justifying herself.

However, I suspect she's fully aware of her hypocrisy. As you say, these are tactics of an abuser. Lily pushes down her fans and then builds up herself; she sets up naked double standards and then insults anybody who calls her out on it; she ignores people who make a legitimate point by arranging her conversational space in such a way that she can just literally never publish -- or easily hide -- dissenting opinions. She always has a justification for why she's allowed to do something when nobody else is.

Most importantly, when caught in her hypocritical lies, she erases the evidence. If she weren't aware of her hypocrisy, or were just doing the mental gymnastics, she wouldn't feel the need to erase her tracks, she would justify. Maybe she would even just admit that her stance had changed, or that somebody else was at fault. Instead, she deletes posts, deletes videos, deletes stories and pretends she never actually did anything.

It is absolutely about self-aggrandizement and control. In this specific case, it's about shaming other people. They write their villains this way for impure, carnal reasons; Lily writes villains the way she does for reasons that are totally justified (speaking truth the power, ie: 'spiting' Blizzard by liking Sylvanas; liking Sylvanas because she's a victim of abuse and Lily totally gets it). I also suspect she gets off on dancing around accusations, as she's taken Asks that were obviously implying things like Stockholm or her hypocrisy and she just says "I don't know what you're talking about" or pretending to interpret the question in a way that it obviously was not while watching her fans never, never questions her.

so every relationship and romance she writes is based on Lily’s real relationships, it makes sense
the doubt that remains is why the relationships become so codependent and obsessive if there is nothing special, perhaps it is the incestuous subtext

And yet she still denies that characters like Anevay and Aliana are self-inserts.

So, Lilly's explanation for why one character likes the other is... There's nothing unique to said person that the other likes? And this is like her relationship with her soon-to-be wife? God, I wanna know how Mikila really feels to see her girlfriend say to the internet that she finds her completely average and that there's nothing that stands out about her.

Responses such as those truly speak volumes about the lack of character of Mikaila more than any copied from Liliana thing she could say.

Anyone could have been in her position if they’d only had a shred of compassion in their body, but they don’t.

I'm sure this phrase on Liliana's head sounded so romantic, but all it really does is show case how asimetrical the relationship is. What happens the moment Mikaila doesn't have time to spend with Liliana? When she has a bad day and doesn't feel especially compassionate or nice? What happens when Mikaila is the one who needs compassion? Nothing, because Liliana is not interested on any of that. Maybe Liliana will "fall out of love" and put a ring on the ginger fuck toy's finger instead.

It's all recieve and nothing to give, unless it's on the form of gifts with which she can buy more love with. She could have phrased it a lot better. "I felt safe with her", "I couldn't imagine spending a day without her", "she was my best friend" could have been acceptable "reasons" as to why anyone loves someone else, but to be "she was nice to me" sounds just childish, like how a kid would explain their first crush on the playground.

You don't build a marriage on being nice and spending time together, Liliana. It usually involves a lot more than that I actually doubt neither of you is ready to handle.

Not to speculate on Lily's relationship with Mikaila (although the way she treats Mikaila's avatar in Madhouse speaks volumes), but specifically about the Ask, and the shrug of an answer:

For some reason, Lily interpreted the question as being about grand gestures, as though the anon were asking what was The Moment that Sylvanas fell in love with Anevay. I can't speak for the anon, but the question doesn't say anything about the exact moment, or what kind of grand gesture she might have made, only why Sylvanas thought Anevay was special. She doesn't really go into it at all, just that they... spent time together?

But why did they wind up spending that time together? How did Anevay become so close and trusted by Sylvanas that this became apparent at all? This is a way that relationships can form in real life, where two regular people meet and share interests, but Sylvanas is the war general of a massive army. She isn't approachable, and I don't just mean that in regards to personality-- she has to be constantly surrounded by guards, constantly going over battle strategy, constantly kept away from others to prevent assassination attempts. I really don't have any experience with World of Warcraft but I imagine that playing in the right faction, your character would meet with Sylvanas during certain missions and events, but not, like... have an option to hang out with her. Even if you do (assuming she might be an NPC you can approach at a given spot and literally just hang out with her) that position is, I assume, only afforded to you because you're playing the main character of your personal experience. To just say 'anybody could have been in that position' is pretty ridiculous.

It is additionally ridiculous because Lily keeps going out of her way to explain that Anevay is the singular Horde Champion. That she defeated all the bosses more or less on her own. Her trope list literally said that Anevay knows all the martial arts and fighting styles and is a perfect warrior with literally every weapon and schools everybody who approaches her and is a better archer than actual trained snipers and also she knkows kung fu and also her pet is the best pet and ALSO

On and on and on. She went way out of her way to make Anevay not just a great warrior, but the greatest warrior. She specifically made Anevay beyond special for what I'm guessing are purely masturbatory reasons, and then has the gall to turn around and say "Nothing's special about Anevay aaanybody could have been in her position". Anevay is simultaneously the most specialest but also totally unremarkable. Given that her personality (from the story I'd read) came across as largely nonexistent, I guess that's true, but I feel like that's not what she was going for.

Do you remember just last week, I think, Lily was getting a lot of 'writer anons' asking her why she felt these traits were necessary if she just wanted to write a soft romance and she just called the anon stupid? Yeah. This is why that kind of nonsense gets in the way of what she's trying to do. Whatever it is she's trying to do.

I would theorize that because of Lizzy and the "really big compromises" she made, now she wants a relationship that doesn’t require anything special to maintain

http://archive.md/AAy8F

https://archive.fo/4pN48

https://archive.li/Ac0hO

her view of relationships is for the person not to say anything mean and just be nice to her. but that is not reflected in her writing

they doesn't talk about conversations, interests, goals or shared moments, from what I read the interactions with Sylvanas are just funny jokes or mutual depression, with that they will end up using each other as an emotional crutch, demanding attention like two Lilys kissing each other

with Aliana / Rey, it was more Rey being impressed with Alie all the time with everything special she has, does and teaches and Aliana just thinks Rey is cute as a puppy, and then it was all about "love more than life, until death "very one-sided in who has all the agency in the relationship

CLily / G are codependents who are initially pet and owner, who became sisters, who became Platonic lovers when G mind-rape Clily who was 14 and now has a biological daughter together, need to say more?

Lily says it's all hurt-comfort fanfic, but the context makes everything so much more fucked up than it needs and honestly she needs to stop putting so much Lore in her stories, ironically that's what destroys them

imagin writing your own characters then blaming THEM for their fuck ups/out of character moments that came about because of your pitiful writing.

how fucking delusional does one have to be to believe that... Ok sure iof you were reviewing someone's content and said 'how this character is out of character, that's pretty shit' or 'god this character is unlikable, fuck him!' then that's fine, but if people tell you, the author of a story your characters are bad and youre the wone who wrote then 100% then... its your fault for the critisism because you wrote terribly.

like there's no exuse to be able to blame no one other than the author for shitty writing unless someone was holding you at gunpoint to write whatever misery that come out of the wielder's fantasy... but nope, lily can never blame herself because, just like her mary-sue self-inserts, she's perfect!

Lily... you know plot armour doesn't exist irl right? so nothing can protect you other than well, fuck all?

If your deluded enough to think your charaters are real enough to blame for their actions, maby lily thinks she's the star of her own lesbian harem anime or something.

Ah yes, there was no grand gesture, it could have been anyone, I just knew this most recent victim was convenient. How romantic!

But yeah, so when Jerry think's a villains motivations is sympathetic it's fine, but anyone else finding a villain sympathetic might as well be a Nazi because death is the only acceptable outcome for villains.

My guess it's because Lily doesn't understand how building a romantic relationship actually works
Remember how she completely dismissed the idea of building up the romantic chemistry between two characters in a love story?
Best I can tell she just doesn't understand this concept of getting to know someone and seeing if you fit together.
All of her girlfriends (that we know about and that weren't imaginary) were fangirls of hers before they started dating her
The groundwork was already done by them building an imaginary relationship with her through her videos
She basically started at the dating stage with them and had to do nothing more than lovebomb them, to make them cough up more free art for her.

That's also why she's always clamoring for relationships to be established as quickly as possible and preferably to have already started before the story begins

Looking at Jerry's only post: https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/jes8h3/maybe_if_i_ignore_him_hell_just_go_away/ there's one particularly noteworthy response, from a user going by Sylvanas_Bad: https://www.reddit.com/user/Sylvanas_Bad/
This user has been on the site for three months, and has posted twice, both to the WoW sub and both containing a bullet-pointed list of evidence for the statement made in his username. The timeline makes it unlikely that this is someone with personal beef with Jerry, but I'd keep an eye out for the possibility of either a sock puppet or a mini-cow in his own right.
