Not to speculate on Lily's relationship with Mikaila (although the way she treats Mikaila's avatar in Madhouse speaks volumes), but specifically about the Ask, and the shrug of an answer:
For some reason, Lily interpreted the question as being about grand gestures, as though the anon were asking what was The Moment that Sylvanas fell in love with Anevay. I can't speak for the anon, but the question doesn't say anything about the exact moment, or what kind of grand gesture she might have made, only why Sylvanas thought Anevay was special. She doesn't really go into it at all, just that they... spent time together?
But why did they wind up spending that time together? How did Anevay become so close and trusted by Sylvanas that this became apparent at all? This is a way that relationships can form in real life, where two regular people meet and share interests, but Sylvanas is the war general of a massive army. She isn't approachable, and I don't just mean that in regards to personality-- she has to be constantly surrounded by guards, constantly going over battle strategy, constantly kept away from others to prevent assassination attempts. I really don't have any experience with World of Warcraft but I imagine that playing in the right faction, your character would meet with Sylvanas during certain missions and events, but not, like... have an option to hang out with her. Even if you do (assuming she might be an NPC you can approach at a given spot and literally just hang out with her) that position is, I assume, only afforded to you because you're playing the main character of your personal experience. To just say 'anybody could have been in that position' is pretty ridiculous.
It is additionally ridiculous because Lily keeps going out of her way to explain that Anevay is the singular Horde Champion. That she defeated all the bosses more or less on her own. Her trope list literally said that Anevay knows all the martial arts and fighting styles and is a perfect warrior with literally every weapon and schools everybody who approaches her and is a better archer than actual trained snipers and also she knkows kung fu and also her pet is the best pet and ALSO
On and on and on. She went way out of her way to make Anevay not just a great warrior, but the greatest warrior. She specifically made Anevay beyond special for what I'm guessing are purely masturbatory reasons, and then has the gall to turn around and say "Nothing's special about Anevay aaanybody could have been in her position". Anevay is simultaneously the most specialest but also totally unremarkable. Given that her personality (from the story I'd read) came across as largely nonexistent, I guess that's true, but I feel like that's not what she was going for.
Do you remember just last week, I think, Lily was getting a lot of 'writer anons' asking her why she felt these traits were necessary if she just wanted to write a soft romance and she just called the anon stupid? Yeah. This is why that kind of nonsense gets in the way of what she's trying to do. Whatever it is she's trying to do.
