'Healthy' South Florida doctor died 2 weeks after receiving COVID-19 vaccine - Take the Jab. It's Safe and Effective.

A 56-year-old doctor passed away this week two weeks after getting his first dose of a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

Dr. Gregory Michael, a Miami-Beach obstetrician, was in good health, according to WPDE. Health officials from Florida and the Centers from Disease Control and Prevention are investigating whether the vaccine played a role in his death, which may be the country's first death linked to the vaccine.

Dr. Michael received his first dose of Pfizer's vaccine on Dec. 18 at Mount Sinai Medical Center, the Sun-Sentinel reported. Three days later, small spots began to appear on his feet and hands. He went to the emergency room at Mount Sinai, where he has worked in private practice for 15 years.

Michael's blood count was "far below normal ranges" and he was admitted into the ICU, according to the Sun-Sentinel. Just days before the last resort surgery, he suffered a stroke and died.

I'm still hung up on how the hell anyone buys that a vaccine will ever be a solution for a relative of the common cold. It's like everyone forgot grade school biology.
It's a cousin of a small handful of 200 viruses that are lumped together as the common cold. Polio is a cousin of the most common common cold viruses (rhinoviruses are enteroviruses like poliovirus) , and that doesn't stop the polio vaccine from working. There's no vaccine for the cold because it's fairly harmless, it's symptoms can be treated with easy to get otc medicines, and to really vaccinate against it you'd need to create dozens of vaccines, and it'd be insanely expensive. If a person of the autistic persuasion got a cold for one of the very broad spectrum of viruses lumped in the category that the required shitload of vaccines needed didn't work on they'd be sperging all over that the vaccine doesn't work.

Which is what is going to happen with COVID.

COVID-19 outbreak, not vaccine, to blame for deaths at nursing home in Auburn
Robert Harding Jan 12, 2021 Updated 6 hrs ago

Robert Harding

A viral social media post and an article published on an obscure website falsely suggest that there may be a link between the timing of COVID-19 vaccinations and deaths at an Auburn nursing home.

The posts refer to reporting about the COVID-19 outbreak at The Commons on St. Anthony in Auburn. More than 180 employees and residents at the facility have tested positive for the virus. At least 28 residents have died after testing positive for COVID-19.

The authors of the posts, which The Citizen isn't disclosing to prevent the spread of false and misleading information, raise the possibility that there is a connection between the deaths and the administration of the COVID-19 vaccine at the nursing home.

However, there are key facts omitted from the claims. The Commons, which is operated by Loretto, began vaccinating employees and residents on Dec. 22. Before the first vaccination clinic, the nursing home already had a COVID-19 outbreak. Julie Sheedy, a Loretto spokesperson, told The Citizen that the outbreak began in December after Thanksgiving.

"Given the incubation period that we know for this virus, our facility was affected before vaccines were available to be administered," Sheedy wrote in an email Monday. "We certainly wish the vaccines had been available sooner to help prevent the devastation caused by this virus."

Sheedy criticized the "dangerously speculative and factually incorrect" claims made on the purported medical website. She added that Loretto hopes the community "knows not to trust unverified information — whether on the web, social media or heard in-person."

More than 80% of the nursing home's residents — nearly 200 people — received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on Dec. 22. The second dose will be administered at a clinic on Tuesday. First doses will be administered to those who didn't receive the initial inoculation in December.

The CDC released facts about the COVID-19 vaccine, which also debunk claims or suggestions that there is a connection between the vaccine and deaths at The Commons. One of the first questions answered by the agency is, "Can a COVID-19 vaccine make me sick with COVID-19?" The answer is no because, as the CDC explains, none of the vaccines that have been approved or are in development "contain the live virus that causes COVID-19."

"This means that a COVID-19 vaccine cannot make you sick with COVID-19," the CDC added.
Both of the approved vaccines manufactured by Moderna and Pfizer require two doses. While it's unknown how many of the residents at The Commons who died of COVID-19 received their first dose, they did not get their second.

"That means it's possible a person could be infected with the virus that causes COVID-19 just before or just after vaccination and still get sick," the CDC explained. "This is because the vaccine has not had enough time to provide protection."
Lot of very specific denials in this.

"The vaccine won't make you sick...with COVID-19." (Will it make you sick with anything else?)

"Never trust unverified information." (why can't I verify my own information?)

"28 residents died after testing positive with COVID-19." (But did they die from COVID-19?)

Tbh if it gets that bad I have an excuse for staying home the rest of my life. *yawn*

But nah, I doubt it will be a forever thing. There's not a single pandemic from the past that hasn't gone away in time. It just depends on how people get shit done that it leaves sooner or later.
Well that's sort of the whole premise of this stuff. Most people are "homebodies" and enjoy an excuse to not go out. Also, lots of people are hypochondriacs and this is their fucking 4th of July, Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving all in one, for a year straight. All of their unfounded paranoias being 100% indulged by everybody from doctors, media, politicians, friends, family, etc. I have a friend who was a hypochondriac before covid and he would say "yeah i'm a hypochondriac but I am afraid of getting the flu, so I won't drink after you." Now, he says "I am gonna quarantine [from early Nov] until I get the vaccine, because this global pandemic is a serious concern." Literally no self awareness whatsoever.

Anyway, yeah it'll be forever. The virus not being a problem is not going to make the other stuff go away. Now that "every death is a tragedy" is just an accepted party line, people dying from all sorts of "avoidable" things will be reason enough to limit events, travel, activities, etc.

I could be wrong. Haven't been yet.

Bit of a powerlevel, but my mom buys into most of the COVID hysteria as a retired RN. I say most because even she doesn't want the vaccine right now. Still doesn't make up for how medical professionals have vastly overreacted to what amounts to the flu and somehow expect that a COVID vaccine would work better than the flu vaccines that they know are guesswork every year.
In my country, where the vaccine won't be available for months anyway, you won't find a single medical professional who doesn't take the view that it's a good thing we have a bit of time to see how the effects play out around the world. Some of these are very bright and knowledgeable people -- pathologists, etc. Could be partially making a virtue of necessity, though.

23 die in Norway after receiving Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine: officials
Twenty-three people died in Norway within days of receiving their first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, with 13 of those deaths — all nursing home patients — apparently related to the side effects of the shots, health officials said.

Common reactions to the vaccine, including fever and nausea, “may have contributed to a fatal outcome in some frail patients,” Sigurd Hortemo, chief physician at the Norwegian Medicines Agency, said in a Friday statement.

All 13 were nursing home patients and at least 80 years old. While officials aren’t expressing serious concern, they are adjusting their guidance on who should receive the vaccine.

The news comes just over a week after officials reported the deaths of just two nursing home residents after they received the Pfizer jab.

More than 30,000 people in Norway have received the first shot of the Pfizer or Moderna coronavirus vaccine in the Scandinavian country since late last month, according to official figures.

“We are not alarmed by this,” Steinar Madsen, medical director with the agency, told Norwegian broadcaster NRK. “It is quite clear that these vaccines have very little risk, with a small exception for the frailest patients.”

“Doctors must now carefully consider who should be vaccinated,” he added. “Those who are very frail and at the very end of life can be vaccinated after an individual assessment.”

The agency reported Thursday that a total of 29 people had suffered side effects, including the 13 people who died.

Twenty-one women and eight men experienced side effects, officials said.

Besides those who died, nine had serious side effects — including allergic reactions, strong discomfort and severe fever — while seven had less serious ones, including severe pain at the injection site.

In total, more than 57,000 cases and 500 coronavirus-related deaths have been reported in Norway, according to Johns Hopkins University.

Health officials noted that around 400 people die each week in the nursing home population.

A Pfizer rep said the pharmaceutical giant is “aware of reported deaths” following the administration of the vaccine in Norway and is working with the Norwegian Medicines Agency “to gather all the relevant information.”

“Norwegian authorities have prioritized the immunization of residents in nursing homes, most of whom are very elderly with underlying medical conditions and some which are terminally ill,” a spokeswoman said in a statement. “[The Norwegian Medicine Agency confirms] the number of incidents so far is not alarming, and in line with expectations.”

Officials said that common side affects to the vaccine, including fever and nausea, may have contributed to the deaths.

“All reported deaths will be thoroughly evaluated by [the agency] to determine if these incidents are related to the vaccine,” she added. “The Norwegian government will also consider adjusting their vaccination instructions to take the patients’ health into more consideration.”
Safe and effective.
