Dr. Rachel McKinnon / Dr. Veronica Ivy / Rhys McKinnon / Rachel Veronica McKinnon / Foxy Moxy / SportIsARight - failed out of a tenured job,man who competes in womens sports, gained like 100 lbs in 2022 (page 813), comically fell off bike before a race (page 830)

"Baiting transphobic twitter" doesn't seem to me how an academic operates. Maybe Rhys's expertise is actually Journalism.

And I also grant that he is an expert about the health effect of constantly living in anger.

LOL as if he were capable of arguing with anyone on line! Every one of his "argument" has been "textbook example of transphobia!!!!!"

Rest assured that Rhys must be an expert of employment law too.

The Me-Generation loves to take everything extra personal; every difference in preference is a personal affront. Not liking hip-hop, for example, means you MUST be racist against niggers. I saw people arguing like this in Something Awful.

Rhys is firing at Keira Bell.

This is one of the rare instances where I'm willing to grant Rhys a point over his opponents. Bell ought to use the women's bathroom. Her cruel disfigurement, though lamentable, does not give her the license to do whatever she chooses.

Rhys goes on to pick on his ally's "ableist" language: it is okay for Rhys for Rhys to call Bell "idiot", "dumbass", but "crazy" is off-limits!

NO! Don't you mention that anti-science hate group!

If you didn't tweet about BLM when it was hot, you can't care for the predicament of black people now.

It sounds as if BLM is a limited-time offer doesn't it? Available while stocks last. One per customer only. Offer not combinable with other special promotions.

So rage motivates his writing, yet rage also incapacitated him so much that he couldn't write his second book. Isn't it a interesting psychological-philosophical conundrum?

My favorite bit is the one troon who says "Trust me, folks, voice training is NOT that fast, I've been doing it for 2 years and I'm nowhere near as good at it as Thorn", and Rhys just has to barge in and go "lol it took me four months I could never go back to sounding like a boy". And of course I'm sure he absolutely cannot see how tone-deaf and narcissistic that sounds.

Honestly, I understand why Bell does this, even if unsure whether I agree. She's going to make far more people uncomfortable in the ladies' than the gents', partly because she appears so masculine, partly because no-one really cares if a woman engages in cross-sex toiletting, and arguably she's only putting herself at risk. It's comparable to opposing MtF in womens' sports but being fine with FtM in mens.
It's unfortunate that it appears to make a point for Rhys, but in reality he's being as simplistic as ever and there isn't really an easy answer, other than 'let's stop medically vandalising sex characteristics'.

Rhys thinks he sounds like a woman? Wow.

no-one really cares if a woman engages in cross-sex toiletting,
Absolutely. In my experience, if women go into the gents (e.g. to skip a missive queue in the ladies), all it results in is a load of men going "wahey!!". Framing it as "people of either sex should go into the one they feel comfortable" is disingenuous bullshit, and ONLY done by male troons to try and make it sound more reasonable for them to go in the ladies - the only situation anyone has a problem with.

Has anyone ever mistaken this man for anything remotely female?
In his head, everyone, all the time. I wouldn’t be surprised if he stopped making any effort in passing because he thinks he’s got this down. He probably mistakes people’s politeness for genuinely thinking he’s stealth. After all, he wouldn’t hesitate to tell other people they’re fucking up.

I'm not so sure, he is a member of a protected class, and he does have tenure.
[...]
I'm no expert, but I have seen people fired from jobs that it's almost impossible to get fired from. Both times for odd tangental reasons.

He has already openly applied for another job, and exclaimed that he hasn't been fired. If the CofC indeed terminates him and Rhys sues, CofC's lawyers will rightfully argue he was let go of after expressing he was no longer interested in the job.

I doubt that would fly. Academics apply for other jobs all the time (in many places an external offer is the only way to get a raise). So simply "you applied for a job" means nothing. The external employment (the contracting gig) is more likely a direct breach of employment terms.

His “successful“ construction business, built, along with his substantial property portfolio, as his stated long term financial strategy whilst on a variety of leave from his tenured position is a potential liability in any employment dispute.
He’s claiming disability in one space, whilst working elsewhere, claiming hurt feelings in social media yet enthusiastically participating, bragging even, and fueling further discord, potentially bringing his employer into disrepute with his publications (Twitter).
He has weakened every plank in a potential wrongful termination dispute.
As a result of any action by CofC:
Has he suffered damage to his ability to get employment elsewhere? He says no.
Is his financial position diminished? He says no.
Has he suffered damage to his academic reputation? According to him it’s never BEEN so reputable.
Has he completed the basic terms of his employment contract, stated and implied? He defiantly says he doesn’t have to.
Has he participated fully in a constructive process to complete his minimum requirement once the review process commenced? He says the process is flawed, wrong headed, incorrect in its assumptions and has redundant goals.
His tweets are academic publications, his “activism“ is community engagement, his narrow focus on himself is a sort of pinhole camera that akshually captures the world wide universal struggles of millions of (trans) women and some FTM.
This fat dummy is riding for a fall.

No, he's a monster. Literally some kind of Grendel, dressing as a human female. Like his pal Oliver Thorn - who has bigger facial bones than Lou Ferrigno. How on earth do these people think they could ever fool the general public? Is their silo so well-insulated that they've all managed to convince each other?

On the BBC World Service Newshour programme today (45.00 minutes in ) discussion on transgender rights in sport with Chase Strangio taking up the cudgels on behalf of the trans community against known "transphobe" Dr Emma Hilton. Now I wonder why the BBC wouldn't seek the opinions of world expert in trans athlete rights Dr Veronica Ivy? Rhys can you explain this ?

Because Britain is literally an island full of transphobes where trans women are murdered in the streets and children play with the corpses. According to troons.

I am not going to pretend that Rhys is an atrocious writer just because I hate him - the guy can string some sentences together, sure, which is a really low bar for getting as far in academia as he has. But I constantly see him misusing commas and hyphens, as well as making other basic grammar errors. I just ran his JK Rowling piece through Grammarly for kicks and there were a lot of very basic mechanical issues that, if you are a writer and you aren't a raging narcissist, you would have addressed by now. There is no way that editors haven't brought these things up to him over the years but he obviously just ignores any feedback on the assumption that he knows better.

And then he sits there writing twitter screeds about how he is developing his voice and how impactful his writing is. I also think his tone and voice are as unpleasant as the man whose head they are coming from but whatever, that's subjective. Objectively, the fact that he hasn't polished the mechanics of his writing after this much time in academia and this many published pieces is embarrasing.

He's a dimwit who tweets that using one sentence paragraphs and ellipses are examples of amazing and impactful writing techniques that he incorporates into his academic writing and "articles" (not had one of those for a while, huh Rhys?). He's also such a narc that he thinks HE came up with these techniques on his own. He's got such a comical lack of self awareness.
