General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Hmm.. Is it that surprising about their choices in EN talents tho?
I would imagine that an applicant would be required and willing to provide all their SNS and other media that they would have counted as portfolio.
There would be little digging needed with all the information provided.
It's impossible to ensure that they gave you all their accounts and media, but if you sit someone down and ask them difficult questions the vast majority of people will fuck up in some way. From there they can pick apart the person's actual intentions/motives I guess.
senzawa's like a Internet urban legend at this point -- which is to say, something simple that's been transformed, twisted, and exaggerated after being retold by tons of different people over time.

The actual senzawa was a lot tamer than most people seem to think. If you actually want to see what she was like, her Sponge Bob Battle for Bikini Bottom seems to be the only full stream that's been archived.
"Give me six lines written by the most honest man in the world, and I will find enough in them to hang him." - seisofags, probably

I am sick to death of these idiots all over 4chan and the like, spamming their shitty pastas/etc about Kiara is a whore, Ame is a communist, Calli is an alcoholic. Selfie with makeup? Whore. Retweeted a tranny? Must be a tranny-lover. Commented on the news? Must be a liberal. Wrote a love song? Must be fucking some dude on the side. Likes anime? Degenerate shut in, I bet she watches porn. Doesn't like anime? Insincere! Burn the witch, burn the grifter.

Never mind that none of these supposed crimes ever seem to bleed into the content they produce. Clearly not fit for Hololive. Never mind that Miko said the N-word on stream, or that Youtube Kids content creator Haachama does far worse than Senzawa ever did, all under the name of Cover.

At the end of the day they're idols, not gods. They're fucking human, humans have flaws. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

It also baffles me how much Cover just got their EN casting right (most likely a large part due to Coco overseeing everything). Their synergy is amazing. Ame and Gura are great together, Calli and Kiara seem like they're connected at the hip (Coco and Kanata vibes, even outside of the yuri baiting) and Ina gets along with everyone. They had to tread the literal minefield that is ENVtubers and didn't make a single misstep. Outside of some weird out of context stuff Ame did and stuff Kiara did 5+ years ago, they're basically spotless.

Genuinely, my hats off to them.

Edit: Also, Matsuri's twitcasting from her other account.
I've said it before, but EN branch was also a big gamble for both the talents and Cover. The people mentioning the corporate backing are really taking EN's success for granted, but Cover had lost a lot of money on overseas ventures and no one expected overseas fans to actually follow through with support to the extent they have. While projections for EN were positive, there were no guarantees when they were all signing dotted lines and cutting checks. Wild success also comes with its own set of problems for management, chief among them budgeting for fad inflation.

Then again, I suppose it's hard for the TBAs to appreciate what the company is doing when they can't even manage and fund a single person.

True. A lot of people, me included, thought that the EN branch was gonna be a bunch of V-thots like Mel. Mousey, Nyanners etc.
Why not shift focus to people who actually are on the grind?
If only the whole consumer side of the internet could come to a concensus of ignoring these VTweeters but the internet loves drama/meaningless rants and these jealous VTweeters are a really good source of it.
Korone's played like 8 hours of Binding of Isaac, so I doubt it'd be a problem.
If Doggo played it recently then the rest is invalid but if she played a decent while back then the number of antis was low at the time. I say this with the idea that both the fox didn't complete either of the playthroughs of her Lobotomy runs (supposedly management not allowing her to play due to the graphic scenes) and Ina'nis also hasn't said anything about her playthrough. Honestly, I just wanna see the VTweeters try to start a squabble over it and face some sort of backlash for it.

Isn't Senzawa a ticking time bomb with a timer called "just let me get drunk"? Like it was a surprise when you first learned that they are the same person. Ina was also a gamble as there is currently no background experience of her with streaming that has been uncoverd. Ame is like you said and Calli and Kiara just happened to hit off when they mey by pure luck (unless they have some backstory I dunno about)

I can see Coco being hired/giving aid in selecting the members but I don't think she would've been alot of help. I wonder what Kiara did 5+ years ago.
Ina did some twitch drawing stream before kinda like Shigure Ui or Kagura Nana ( her setup was the same as Nana) , but it’s not really explode in term of popularity due to twitch is not suitable for arts stream at that time. Getting Ina on the ride seems more gamble on Cover want to expand to larger pool of talents since they probably want to show that talents is not just singing or playing video games.

This is going to be a fun week. A bunch of (or 1 super angry sped) TBA went on lolcow to be butthurt about Calli. It's a fun read.

5+ years ago Kiara as Keeki tried to enter the regular idol industry and accidentally led some guy on who paid her way into Japan and had the audacity to not fuck him once she arrived. She was then part of Tone Jewel for quite a while and basically had a whole bunch of shit happen to her in that time to the point where she had a meltdown before the group dissolved.

Basically, she didn't really do anything wrong but she had a lot of horrible shit happen to her that people blame on her for happening to begin with.

My man Kongou wrote a rap inspired by Mori and holy shit he is not pulling any punches.

I’m sure they did hence Nyanners was speculate as Hololive reject due to Cover digs up some of her spicy back and forth with 4chan and tumblr years ago.

The true rrat about the Nyanners rejection isn't that because Calli's older content is equally shitposty. The main gist is that they thought Sen would be a good fit already and Nyanners was too similar, so it ended up being somewhat of a coin toss.

There may be an alternate universe where Nyanners got into hololive and Senzawa became Vshojo.

Nyanners explicitly called out lolicons.
Calli didn't.

To add on, Kiara did nothing wrong, it was the toxicity of the Japan idol industry and a lot of behind the scene “sleep your way up” for that limelight. Kiara was also giving some interview after she left the idol scene.

You quoted it after this, but yeah. It is surprisingly easy to understand a person in an interrogation format, unless they're on the sociopathic spectrum, and even then you can pick out certain trends for behavioral trajectory. If you have a good interviewer and a good observer, you can see the talent and personality of a person bleed out of the awkward. It's confidence you're wary of, because confident people tend to not have anything to back it compared to real slayers.
At the end of the day they're idols, not gods. They're fucking human, humans have flaws. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
Your asking for logic from a fringe community. Like I understand having high hopes for someone you take interest in, but the level of purity that is required of some fans (especially the JP community in certain regards) is absurd. The pendulum swings the other way too though. There are idiots that seem to require a level of lewdness or degeneracy to ensure they aren't the freak in the room. It's why you see the constant 'THEY'RE FUCKING' posts on the chans. No real proof, just a need. Not saying some of the girls aren't Bi/Les but the narratives I've seen are just so poorly presented.
And that is the most sensible of the information presented.

Lulu had been determined to finish zelda for 2 days already, and today she came just short after a 8 hours stream.
She was so engrossed in the game that she only noticed it was already morning until kurea came into the chat to say good morning. It took a phone call from anehara to remind her that they're gonna hang out today and a lot of bargaining for her to actually stop.
As a bonus, since there's no time to prepare an end card today, you get to enjoy lulu headbanging to the bgm as the ending.
