Wow we are almost a year into this madness, I guess my frequent waking up in cold night sweats after being in a dream for a minute that I'm back to the life I've used to live before all of this. Despite the doomer levelling, it has turned out that this over reaction is what has yanked a year of our lives away. I totally shut everything related to COVID off around Christmas, only time I even hear a remote mention of it is when one of my house mates is watching the CBC propaganda. I respond now only with spite when anyone brings COVID up to me.

Since then I've shut not only that off , but all of the political garbage. This entire virus was a political opportunity for a bunch of fair weather politicans who where telling us at the beginning, how stupid any of us who where prepared in the beginning where. As the shelves where beginning to go bare this time last year. The usual suspects are always to blame when it comes to hoodwinking the unsuspecting masses. Leaf land has become nothing more but another Soviet level society at this point.

I guess the silver lining is now people are jumping for joy over the rushed injections and is actually giving some of these loons a sense of security. Though let them prop up their false idols and knit their wool masks in fear. This crisis will end, but these people will be forever damaged, and servitude to the same people that ruined so many good people's livelihoods. The Bible says something about propping up false idols, not too surprised that they haven't learned from Corn Pop.

A common seintment among people I've spoken to is that most people are tired of these restrictions and more people in my personal life are smelling the coffee in some ways. I can say that hopefully by the spring most people will start rejecting this bullshit in more brute force as the numbers start to trickle down. Ironically because of those CDC testing criteria changing back last month. Though for now that is only a pipe dream, now excuse me while I eat my bugs.

It's been ended for me for a while, I live a regular life. I go out every day, I visit family, and I occasionally go out to bars on weekends. Unfortunately, not everybody is so fortunate.

I've had a few dreams where I try and go into a store or bar or arena and have to deal with the mask police who are either employees/bouncers or occasionally a random bugman. I always shout at them, mock them, and occasionally fight them. I hate having dreams like this because it makes me remember this bullshit has seeped into my dreams, even if I usual "win" against them and can get into wherever I was going (which is usually great because no one is wearing masks inside). It probably says a lot about my beliefs that I'd dream about that sort of shit.

Maybe I shouldn't pay so much attention to this thread or any Chinkflu related news. Maybe I'm part of the problem because I pretend to wear a neck gaiter at work (which is good enough for them), I'm not involved in any protests, and I just do curbside pickup for my shopping so have had only ONE encounter with mask police employees when I tried to use the "I have a health issue so can't wear a mask" excuse, right around when the cuck mayor of the blue city I shop and eat at finally decided to decree a mask mandate. I found I like curbside pickup, it takes less time anyway.

There is a real crisis of leadership in the world today, in particular the bureaucracies but also elected politicians. That so many would join the mass hysteria is simply insane. You look at someone like Ron DeSantis, I'd like to think a few decades ago he'd be your average leader and nothing special but in this day and age he stands out simply by not being terrible and looking at the actual science and facts instead of what The Science and The Experts say. No, Donald Trump did not do a good job (even if he's better than most world leaders) because he refused to hassle murderous governors like Cuomo as they were killing senior citizens and he refused to fire Dr. Fauci after his repeated false predictions and flipflopping.

I feel sorry for Canadians that their country is so fucked right now (and has been for quite a while). Most provinces have no leadership either and the federal level has the Castro lookalike in charge. But I think if you look at history and notice other eras when your average leader was utter garbage, average and especially actually good leaders stand out. The leader who handled this scamdemic best was Chairman Xi in China, because after his initial inaction let the disease spread out of control and he realized he needed to do lockdowns all over China to control it, he knew he had a golden opportunity by taking advantage of the political elite's love of CCP technocratic policies. So he took a temporary hit and sat back and watched the disease spread all over the world and the world enact China-esque lockdowns which inevitably failed because our elites are still unable to control us like China. And to this day we still grapple with the disease China unleashed, still believing we can control it "just like China did".

If a talented leader Xi Jinping existed in the West or even nations like Russia, we wouldn't be having this problem. I'm not endorsing Chairman Xi, but he's very skilled. I'd imagine if Trump actually were what his fanboys say he was and what he promised he was or how he talked on Twitter, he'd have been a worthy match for the Winnie the Pooh lookalike in China.

The virus is real. The current worldwide restrictions are an overreaction. I don't think anyone doubts that the virus exists, we just doubt that it merits the measures currently in place (and/or) that the measures taken are not efficacious.

There's an image upthread of a woman who knit a Fauci doll; she's wearing a knit mask. Does that make sense to you? A mask with gaping holes in it; that will surely work. Does that seem sane to you? Does it smack of hysteria at all? People wearing talismans and putting on badges to show their support of the cause.

This disease kills old people, yet, young healthy people claw and fight their way into the vaccination lines to take the vaccine away from real at-risk groups (again, old people). Some here also realize that the vaccine was rushed to production with minimal testing. Still, I support my sexagenarian parents getting the vaccine.

The data the CDC has released shows a very low mortality rate for most people (see: younger than 60, no cormobidities). Why are we telling everyone on earth to go cloister away at home when working age people aren't even the ones dying from this thing? Because they could kill grandma? Grandma is her own person. In real life, not in make-pretend-land grandma makes her own choices. You don't get to choose for grandma whether she values seeing her grandchildren in her few, precious years remaining, or whether she goes into a covid protection cage. Grandma can decide for herself what she finds dangerous, what dangers and risks she's willing to live with. Just like everyone else.

The virus doesn't kill old people, the virus kills people with severe co-morbidities, full stop. Mainly type 2 diabetes, and ischemic heart disease. Of course as people get older those illnesses become more common, but age in of itself is not a risk factor. Old people who don't suffer from chronic illness are NOT at risk from Covid.

If this virus had hit us 40 years ago we would barely have noticed it, the mortality rate would have been lower than the seasonal flu. Talk of lockdowns and masks would have been met with mockery and laughter. Why? Because 40 years ago we didn't suffer the obesity epidemic we are now. This is all our chickens coming home to roost. A psychopathic food processing industry that's been feeding us a diet of literal industrial waste, refined sugar and empty carbs. Throw in chronic vitamin D deficiency from a lack of sunlight and not enough red meat, and here we are.
