It was inevitable this would happen. As someone who was deep into game-grumps in the final days of Jon and the beginning days with Dan I always assumed Dan was knee deep in strange because;
  1. He's always taking about rockstar sex stories and how he's into glamrock as a lifestyle.
  2. Fronted a band with Sex in the name and lots of sex songs non stop. I remember feeling gross listing to some of his songs because of how sex heavy they were.
  3. GG was the first time he felt "famous" and spent many episodes being #blessed for all his new fans and how he wants to meet them all.
I cant fully recall but I think he's also talked about never wanting to get "tied down" and how it causes issues for his Dad who is Jewish and wants dan to settle down with a nice Jewish girl.

It's funnier and funnier that the most laughable people are those denying obvious facts especially the Game Grumps fans who desperately hope this is a ProJared situation (even though they wouldn't think of innocent until proven guilty if it was someone else) or deflect to REEing about how racist Jontron is. Just goes to show that a group being in denial and desperate like a fish on land are always the funniest people.

I hope people don't bicker too much on 'pedophilia' and arguing about the legality of the whole thing. It doesn't have to be so complicated. If a middle aged guy makes immature content, draws in young fans, gives them attention, and gets something sexual the moment she turns 18, that's just sleazy. Not illegal, but still distasteful and anyone who knew about this in his social circle is a scumbag as well.

His fans can argue all day whether or not there was a crime, or if he's a groomer/pedo, which just cracks me up because any normal person would just have the reaction of 'holy shit what a scumbag' and not be able to look at him the same way. There's something very amusing to me that as long as it's not illegal his fans see no problem.

At this point, any content creator who hasn't locked down any and all possible means of communication with them is going to get exactly what they deserve. You'd have to be both dense and arrogant beyond words to see every last one of your associates get cancelled for the same fucking thing you're doing and still think you're big enough to beat the rap.

Actually, I'm going to extend that to anyone actively courting their fanbase in general. For all the "love" they like to show their viewers, they sure aren't paying any attention to them, or else they'd notice that 10 out of 10 times, they're going to see their entire "career" crash and burn around them as soon as their fangirls start DMing them. And they deserve it, too, because at this point, what legitimate reason would there be to engage one-on-one with your fans in this day and age? In fact, why would any sane creator share their personal contact info with their fanbase if they weren't intentionally angling for jailbait sex?

Honestly, I think I'm just burnt out from seeing the same story play out over and over again. Half the threads on this subforum wouldn't exist if these people could think past their libido, or at least exercised basic pattern recognition with their actions, but here we are. Hey, at least it explains their choice of games, amirite?

I'm thinking of Dan here and also the gunt, but I'm sure there are many many more instances on this site. Are they trying to relive their own sexless teen years?
