I'm guessing he's going to attempt to make a simple way to implement custom students/rivals/characters/paths/waypoints so his playerbase can finish the game for him, though I default to that because I can't really think of anything else that Alex can do that would seem a "big surprise" other than releasing all remaining rivals at the same time and getting the game to run at a constant, reasonable FPS. Given his past big releases, I expect whatever he eventually presents to be completely broken for a couple months until it gets patched into a "merely unfun/rather buggy" state.

Alex's Patreon is doing that thing again where a whale shows up, gives a decent spike in the graph then fucks off a few days later only for "another" whale to come along and repeat the process. I'm unsure if it's artificial or if there are enough people with lose change still gullible enough to contribute after already being burned many times over the last few years.

Edit: Also, just skimming that blogpost of his reeks of "I don't want to work on YanSim, please oh please let me work on my precious baby Lunar Scythe! It'll be so amazing, you'll see!". So just for the record, I'd like to once again state that Lunar Scythe was a creative and technical disappointment that should have just been an edgy simple flash game and I don't see how fucking around with Unity for seven years would make it any better.

It wouldn't surprise me if he ended up giving modders full support on his game. They're doing his fucking job. There's a mod of amai where not only implements the rivals but it's starting to program events day by day with voice acting. Like I'm not even joking that mod is on Thursday and has full mod acting for all fo the events for all characters. Seriously why won't he just give modders full support so that modders can do the job he said he would do while claiming "I transformed my idea for making a linear persona and hitman game into a platform where people can create stories. Now give me money and praise"

Nah, anything can work until you make it because you wanna play it. Alex wants to be revered as a genius gamedev, nothing more.
