Megathread SRS and GRS surgeons and associated horrors - the medical community of experimental surgeons, the secret community of home butchers

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Several reasons:

1. Thailand's fame for "ladyboys" have disproportionately fuelled a demand in the same way South Korea is apparently known for cosmetic surgery.

2. It's much cheaper there. Average US surgeons are 60k or thereabouts, while Thai butchers will go as low as 20k.

3. Thai butchers infamously don't gatekeep. I remember reading reddit posts saying the only therapy sign off was an automatic in and out process with a Thai psych who obviously gets a cut of the deal.

4. The language barrier and possible differences in legal systems make Thai butchers seem more appealing purely from a lack of information. I presume there is a Thai equivalent of ratemydr or yelp where people bitch about Chatterwatt. I wouldn't even know how to spell that name in Thai script, I am not even sure I spelled it right in English.

5. A lot of the "worst" cases in other countries seem to be likewise blocked by language barrier, NDAs (Rumer seems to be this way) and so on.

I think globally, genital butchers do really bad work. We just don't hear of it.
Though I'd say one good thing about Thai butchers are that those people can recognise it as largely cosmetic - there's no gatekeeping for hormones and surgery. BUT there's no legal legitimacy to trooning out either. You don't get to change your birth certificate or driving license. You don't get to invade female spaces. Those procedures weren't coated in the veneer of a humane cure for dysphoria, but rather what it actually is. It is more the matter of lifestyle and subculture here. So people get to accept those risks on their own.

I found it a better alternative to typical choices in gender debates. (Truscum gatekeeping Vs self affirmation) because it doesn't try to reify the delusion of changing sex. It doesn't pretend to be a service of a progressive government who cares about you.

Someone I found mildly amusing years ago just got the tit chop. It's been fascinating seeing her spiral from a fairly normal if a little too woke woman with a shitty fashion blog, to a nude model and then an enby becoming more and more of a genderless lump over the years and finally culminating in this.

The fact that "non-binaries" can get surgery is still fucking wild to me, she's not even pretending to be a man. She went from wistfully writing about guys finding their girlfriends attractive and how no one did that with her, to thinking it doesn't feel right to have breasts. Tumblr really gets its hooks in ya.

When I had top surgery in April 2019, one of my nipple grafts rejected and the other developed a painful neuroma. On March 31st 2021, I had a 10 minute surgery to remove the scar tissue from the rejected nipple and the remaining nipple graft that had the neuroma, as well as steroid injections in the hypertrophic scars on my chest to soften and lighten them faster.

Day of surgery: I woke up feeling fine, surgery was scheduled for 90 minutes but took 10. Dr Thakar has stellar bedside manner as well. Went home and napped for 8 hours.

1 day post op: very sore, wasn't given pain medication as per my own request, needed help with things but was mostly just tired. Had an allergic reaction to the Keflex and was told to stop taking it, had no issues after that. Bruising was pretty gnarly at this point.

2 days post op: bruising still dark, swelling showing up but slightly less sore than the day before. Able to shower in the morning and felt more normal, still tired.

3 days post op: had a panic attack (unrelated) and caused chest pain all day from that. Otherwise doing fine.

4 days post op: some of the glue peeling up slightly at the edges, feels fine though, much less painful and weak.

5 days post op: had followup with assisting surgeon today, she said it looks great and I can raise my arms above my head as usual starting later this week. Not sore anymore for the most part, not really swollen or itchy or anything either.

I have a similar personal lolcow friend who makes their money on kink/bondage photoshoots and onlyfans, but is also big on the pronoun game and gets extremely angry when people call her big tiddy goth girlfriend body "female". Part of me feels for her since thats probably the first time shes demanded any personal agency in her life, but mostly im just watching amusedly as she sells female sexuality and yet is ashamed to identify as a woman. She probably wont get the chop not for lack of wanting it but because she literally doesnt have insurance or the money to pay for it out of pocket. What a world we live in, eh?

How in God's name does anyone look at a BPD bitch like this and think "yeah this person totally knows what they want and is absolutely sane and sound enough to consent to drastic cosmetic surgery"
"They have to give me revision surgery for the two tiny-ass nipple scars" (and completely ignoring the gigantic self-mutilation disaster that you did to yourself)
FUCKING. KEK. This bitch is "pronouns and munching in my bio" tumblr circa 2012 personified.

What the fuck the incisions aren't even symmetrical.

It's iodine. Why did the swab completely miss the incision area is a question for another day, I am convinced this surgeon is cross eyed.

Imagine having fgm level "pussy" and the results being "superb" because it doesn't look like an intersex correction surgery gone horribly horribly wrong (and that's just the outside).

Thailand's fame for "ladyboys" have disproportionately fuelled a demand in the same way South Korea is apparently known for cosmetic surgery.
True Story: Koreans are butchers too. Most of them are not qualified as cosmetic surgeons but pediatrists. They're still not as bad as the thai surgeons.

For the tl;dr crowd:

129 FTM genital surgeries. 281 complications reported post op, 142 revision surgeries required.

Lol, that guy looks like he aged a decade in between each of those ”progress” pics.

People who butcher their own genitals never seem to think about the future. They want srs now now now without thinking about long term consequences.

Like have these idiots ever thought about what's like being old & having these fake flesh socks/man-holes attached to them? What if they get dementia/Alzheimers? Imagine waking up every day and being horrified because your penis & testicles are missing or having a flesh tube abomination attached to your crotch. And then the nurses have to dilate the terrified old men (wouldn't that be basically rape?) and/or remove the hairs out of an ftm flesh tube with a hook.

No one thinks about this because only short term satisfaction matters. Srs now! Fuck the future & possible problems.

Imo. It's pretty well established that most troons don't really think in the long term at all. Everyone degrades as you age so the nasty flesh mutilation is only a small part of the problem, fucking your body over with years and years of the wrong hormones are likely to have some big fallout that won't be observed until far into the future. We know messed up hormones cause problems in people who are normal, hence why we have endocrinologists, troons are basically inducing themselves into what is normally thought of a medical problem / disease.

The troon menace probably won't be properly put down, or get that final nail in the coffin, until you have a massive fallout from medical issues that are a direct result of this fucking with your hormones and bodies.

The problem is you need them to actually live long enough to get to that point.

It's a bit more complicated than "these people are unqualifird and unlicensed".

This is what I have been able to construe from asking colleagues:

Unlike fellowship requirements in the west, the East Asian model (Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China) straight up has you pick your specialty upon enrolment and stay on that specialty track, and their medical schools have a cap on specialties - so if you are not fast enough, you either end up an internist (i.e. not-a-surgeon) or home medicine (GP/PCP/family dr whatever you call them).

If you are really unlucky, you get saddled with traditional medicine and automatically become a laughingstock in the west. Which is sad, they are medical practitioners who took all the same courses and accrued same clinical hours, with extra stinky herbal shit.

As a result, most plastic surgeons in all of these countries are glorified laser operators because their laws prevent beauticians from operating lasers etc since they gotta keep them employed to justify offering the specialty.

Also, files received from these countries? Fucking looks star-studded with all these MBBS and MDs, in reality they are doing the work that would be given to a nurse practitioner or physician's assistant.

We outsource dialysis and medical imaging to technicians. They have endocrinology-track or radiology-track interns/residents/young doctors doing it themselves like it's an episode of House M.D.

This has the side effect of medical care in East Asia being chaotic. Patients are expected to self-identify what is wrong with themselves and then booking the appropriate specialty (and hoping they aren't wasting money in copay/gap/deductibles) or pay assloads for a "combination hospital" (just "hospitals" to us) where they are bounced from ward to ward staffed by those MBBS and MD eejits.

Adding to the confusion is that most of these countries do not differentiate between "medical practice" "clinic" "hospital" and "hospice" in everyday parlance . So you take your history from an Asian patient and have to contextualise whether "my child went to a paediatrician hospital" means:
  • Paediatrician in private practice
  • The paediatric unit/ward at a hospital
  • Just the ER or possibly outpatient clinic but the kid was seen by a paediatrician
  • A children's hospital
Then on the other end of the scale, you have these rejects who went through the US system and tell you "I'm actually just a med student whose choice was to either come here or complete residency in flyover country!".

While we are at it, everyone would be amazed at how much faith in medicine the average medical practitioner doesn't have.

I work with a dialysis technician who believes in the healing power of magnets, and every time I see them I wonder what exactly does this tech know about dialysis that I don't, that they are driven to such madness.

I work with an ob/gyn who festoons lumps of (activated?) charcoal in their office. I have not yet asked what the charcoal is about.

I work with a surgeon who has a lucky mp3 player, and believes in only using sorbolene lotion instead of normal body cleaning products.

I work with [too specific a specialty] who has a pink himalayan salt lamp that they allegedly recommend patients to also buy.

As far as I am aware, all of these individuals were trained in [majority white country].

TL;DR: Every medical system has its own idiosyncracies that churn out incompetence, and it is always a case of "better the devil you know than the devil you don't".

Lol, nope all of their in and out clinics like ID hospital have very few plastic surgeons on staff if any. The plastic surgeons in these places usually operate on Youtubers and relatively high profile clients to bring in more business. Most of the nobodies who gi these clinics are operated on by foot doctors.

You, or these youtubers are under some kind of massive misunderstanding. Podiatry is not offered as part of medical specialty programs in East Asia. Podiatrists are not even considered "doctors" in most nations either. If any of these butchers turned out to be podiatrists, they earned this degree from a western nation. It's like how osteopaths are only from US.

The Korean plastic surgery butchers are run of the mill graduates, and their surgery qualification is automatically attained like how every graduate with MBBS or MD attains.

ETA: ID Hospital, the source of all the gangnam plastic surgery goblins and tangentially related due to their offering FFS, lists their doctors as being MDs or dental surgeons. I assure you the Korean govt would have kicked their teeth in if podiatrists were masquerading as MDs.

You know what they say, a butcher by any other name.

I don't know if this uh...."penis" has been showcased yet and I'd have to go back to trans bucket to confirm surgeon but GODDAMN NIGGA, THE FUCK?!
It looks like an actual thigh. These women need to stop getting these monstrous fauxgna bologna. When was a wee bb I learned about phalloplasty, but it was phalloplasty for actual men. They would use a saline balloon to stretch the graft site and construct the phallus while it’s still attached to graft site. The site chosen were hairless, such as the underside of your forearm. These phalluses looked pretty natural and the scarring is minimal, but gender bender fuckery is so far out of the left field.

The technique for phalloplasty was perfected, but these unfortunate, delusional women are getting scammed.

It doesn't even have a "head" shape, it looks made for a ring toss competition.
