Honestly, I'm not surprised. If there's someone willing to pay to try and have their insecurities fixed there's going to be some shady doctor willing to take that money. Shoulders, hip-waist ratio etc. are obviously huge tell-tale signs. I really wonder how far this will all go until there starts to be serious regulations? Before it was mostly rich eccentrics that got these insane surgeries (see: Jocelyn Wildenstein, those that want to look like Barbie / Ken dolls), so no one really gave a crap. This is exactly the thing. When TRAs talk about trans people being denied health care, they're basically talking about not getting every surgery they want state funded and that's what they're pushing towards. So of course every Mengele with an insane surgery idea which will totally make the guinea pig feel "gender euphoria" will push for their surgery to be considered "gender affirming". If it's such an insane idea that no one else wants to do it, even better because that means they'll get all the cash themselves.

So why not crush up your shoulders and re-connect them with metal plates? It'll totally make you pass, I promise...

Yes and no. People into the extreme modification tend to have overlap with troons in the 'there's something mentally unwell about these people' possibly with the only exception being those who're heavily tattoo'd but even some of them fall into that category. I'm pretty sure there's a troon here with a thread who began in the body mod community. Pauly or something? Yes, right here. Body modification addicts usually have underlying control issues as a result of past trauma. The ones who're way way way over the top- tiger man, lizard lady, lizard guy, insane stretches of various piercing holes, etc. Are outliers that most who're into body modification would never seek to emulate. That vast majority of body mod community is piercings and the like that can be taken out and healed up later if they change their minds.

I wouldn't say there's pressure on the average person who has a few piercings and tattoos to go full ham. Maybe in the smaller circles where they're doing crazy mods to see what'll happen but those are small groups, again outliers, because the average person knows the more metal in your face and ink on your body, the less career prospects you have.

IIRC. A lot of blogs that used to showcase the more extreme mods would usually have active disclaimers on the extremity and the people who went hog wild on sticking shit under their skin or splitting body parts were usually just showing off what they'd done with very little comments enthusiastically telling others to do it. Some stuff was actively cautioned against because of the risk. The early 'test' subjects of some extreme mods would sometimes discover problems later and caution others against it because of those problems- like sclera tattooing.

You're right that they don't recruit (probably because they wouldn't be special anymore if everybody got extreme body mods), but the overall community is about as cultish and depraved as troons. The non-doctors are every bit as bad and for the same reasons - things that would be considered major and irreversible by normies like facial tattoos or extremely large stretched/gauged earrings are considered minor, and any concerns about being able to get work outside of low-level jobs are brushed off or viciously attacked. There's even the same attitude that if you want it and it'll boost your self-image, that's what matters and society's in the wrong for not accepting it. This last bit even extends to major modifications that most of us would consider horrifying (see the spoiler). The doctors aren't as bad as SRS butchers but I suspect that has more to do with their bottom line than anything else - there is no public support for this stuff unlike troonery.

There is a site called Body Modification Ezine (BMEzine) which is probably the biggest and most depraved site in the community that you can access without needing a VPN although you will need Jesus. Again, their baseline for "normal" is things we'd consider huge like tattoos and body or genital piercings. From there it goes all the way to shit like voluntary amputation, tooth filing, genital surgery (not SRS and I'm not going to create an account there just to find out what those terms mean). Again, the entire justification is simply "if you think you'll like it, do it".

For doctors, that is more complicated. Specific to "Human Barbie Doll" surgery none of the procedures is illegal but very few surgeons will do it due to the large number of procedures and high likelihood of complications or worse. Most plastic surgery will not last forever and will eventually need updates because areas which have had work done don't age like the rest of one's body.

Other than "Human Barbie Doll" surgery many of these are either illegal to perform, even by a doctor, or not done because all but the most inept or money-hungry doctors realize these ideas are terrible. The few doctors who do these procedures keep it quiet because of the potential for medical board involvement and likelihood that it'd tank the rest of their practice (these freaks are too rare to be a reliable customer base). The names are circulated on body-mod sites but I imagine that would stop if any of the doctors involved got too much publicity over it.

As someone who has had a few piercings over the years, I can confirm this - piercers will generally respect clients' privacy and only ask enough questions/give you enough additional information to pick out a jewelry size and location. I'm not sure any of the ones I went to even knew the extreme body mod community is a thing.

Extreme mods is also a very small and mostly online community, so unless you actively seek them out just getting one or two piercings (even nontraditional ones) isn't going to get you noticed.

Even though I'm not a doctor, goddamn this idiot. Back when corsetting was at its peak women were dying due to organ compression. I'd gauge as the flesh became constricted, your flesh would become lumpy like a deathfat since squeezing it is just going to push it somewhere else in your foot. Multiple bones in your feet will break and then heal incorrectly, leading to malformation and pain from malformation, probably bone spurs as your cartilage deteriorates since your precious "slut pills" probably gave you arthritis, and you'll probably have a couple free floating bone fragments giving you pain from your shattered metatarsals.

And then, after all that, you'll still just look like a hobbit because nothing can hide your man toes.
