I guess I'm anti-leaning. I despise proshippers but I don't want them getting harassed and told to kill themselves.
I just don't genuinely get the appeal of constantly indulging in "problematic" ships. Like why are these people so proud of wanting to see the Matsuno brothers fuck, or even an underaged cookie child fuck an adult cookie (Yes, really, it's called the Cookie Run fandom, which has a major proship issue. As a Cookie Run autist, I have to explain there are characters that are literally described as children despite being anthropomorphic confectionery). Like what's the appeal of "haha look, i like pedo/incest."
I get wanting to see a more interesting dynamic other than uwu soft lesbians who kiss all the time, but ehhh this might be a step too far.
A lot of these people tend to use CSA as their excuse, which... well, if they have gone through that, I am genuinely sorry for them, but I just don't understand how wanting to see Rick rape Morty in the ass counts as a coping mechanism.
As for antis, even though I sorta label myself as one, I think a majority of them are retarded children. Yeah, I agree that people who unironically wank it to Brian and Stewie are sick fucks., however, when it comes to "abusive" ships (like shipping villains with good guys), I think people overreact. I've always went by "if it's not pedophilia, incest, or zoophilia, then let people enjoy it"
As for it being thread material, I do want to see an actual thread about this topic, but I think the execution here kinda blows. OP made an alright effort, but I think some material with a real bite could spice up the thread. For example, there's a ton of proshippers that will cry "I HATE KIDS, KIDS ARE DUMB" but low and behold, their AO3 has child-rape stories.

Man, alright, coming back to this thread- there is a ton of cringe from the proship side, but I'm way too lazy to scroll through all of it. All I know is that this discourse is dumb, shipping won't liberate the gays, shut the fuck up about politics, actually.
I really should've documented her Twitter when she still had a public account, but a personal lolcow of mine in the general proship/antiship discourse has been someone going by @zombiejerusalem. Constantly getting into discourse and crying about how she is "so tired of engaging in it and wanting to take a break from it"- only to get back into it the next day. Also constantly complaining about being chronically ill or whatever and how she's so tired everyday, guys, she can't engage in all this discourse! (she says, engaging in discourse)
She also just seems so obsessed with TERFS. Just- calling everyone who doesn't agree with her a "TERF", just like those nasty "antis" that she hates! Also, just generally, she does not have pleasant vibes. Here's some examples- no archives, unfortunately. If someone could help me out, that'd be very appreciated.

A lot of proshippers blame kids for seeing what they're doing, and i was trying to say that kids will see whatever they want to see regardless of what you do to prevent it. A lot of people have stories about how they found porn at age 12 or whatever. I can see how it came off though.

There was also a pedo antishipper that got brought up a few years ago in the shipping thread in community watch that other antis circled the wagons around to protect.
In my experience antis are just woke assholes butthurt people like ships they personally dislike (especially ones that cockblock their favorite ships) and all the REEEEEEEing about abuse or pedophilia or whatever is just to try and legitimize them doing crazy shit like sending people death threats over fictional characters fucking.
Fictional characters fucking is not serious business and it never has been. If you see someone enjoying a combination of fictional characters fucking you don't care for, there's this neat thing called the back button. It's worked like a charm for me for like 20+ years now.
If someone is creeping on actual kids yeah, that's fucked, but a vast majority of the time I see antis calling someone a pedophile it's solely because of dumb bullshit with fictional characters (and it feels like half the time it's with characters that are canonically adults because liking a pairing involving two characters that are adults with a 4+ year age gap is now considered pedophilia for some reason).

I feel the antishippers are much more unhinged than the proshippers (this may come from bias, I admit. There's a google doc of all the shit antishippers stirred up from 2019), though that's not to say they're without fault (there was a whole shebang about Fanexus and how even the proshippers cannibalize themselves like the antis. Plus, the fact most proshippers are MOGAI with xenogenders and preach homophobia when people call them out on their bullshit. There's plenty of lulzy shit they've done- though obviously it's hard to compare that to sheer amount of antishippers that spread whatever they think is literal CSEM and ruin people's- often teenagers'- lives for not liking their favourite ship. At least proshippers seem less rife with that bullshit. Doesn't mean I can't laugh at them when the rare lolcow happens.)
Many "anti-pedophillic/anti-freak/anti-incest" arguments on Twitter have just devolved into ship wars at this rate, just plastered with buzzwords that would alert even the most sane people- it's desensitized tons of people from actual grooming and abuse that takes place on social media- plenty of tweets about calling out antis preaching about liking a ship with a 3 year age gap when they rp or send NSFW with and to actual children.
There shouldn't be a community for this shit because it's making this larger than it actually is- people jerking themselves off to two fictional characters fucking. All of this could be fixed by utilizing the block and mute functions that are available on Twitter, but kids don't wanna spend their energy doing that when flexing their moral superiority to strangers on the Internet is much more fulfilling and "fun". Proshippers, in turn, really should spend more time blocking, reporting and less time dwelling on the death threats on the Internet. I get it's hard to do so when they get into your personal life, and obviously when that happens you should lawyer up and curb the smear campaign and minimize damage by informing your employers and peers, but random kids who tell you to kill yourself or call you a faggot? Just block them, man.

In my time on the Net, its safe to say the only winning move when it comes to these people is not to play. Picking one side essentially means you've dug yourself into a hole, especially if you don't actively do things they normally do that cause the discourse within their community.

at the end of the day, mira is just, something. The last time she was in drama was when she had she hated two Jojo ships and her "fans" attacked one of them, maybe the other, I don't know. Around that time, I have given up on fandoms all together
